Little Big Planet - Gen. Discussion & Info
btw an update...
Remember on Monday the LBP site said they were giving out beta keys only to the first 1000 people that commented on the post that they made?

I was commenter 1500+ or somewhere around there, and they happened to send me a key today. Guess there were either a lot of multiple posters or people who tried to sign in with multiple accounts or something.
Where did they send you the code, as a message on your PS3, or your registered PS3 account's email?

it was through the email I registered the psn with
The beta keeps freaking crashing on me. Keeps turning my Sackboy ghost-white.
Ya, I keep crashing and lagging. Hope they get it all fixed up before release.

Is there a LBP beta forum where you can submit bugs/ideas?

And can you put things in the back ground? Or does everything you place have to be in the 3 lanes?
Do you put the 1up answer in the "Subject" heading or in the body?
I'm not sure if it matters, I put my answer in the body.

Looks like every real user (people who used the site before they started giving out keys) of the official LBP site gets a key. Think I might've gotten in early enough on the PS Blog to get one.

This is the official thread...at least it was until discussion started about what hoops to jump through and where to jump them at to obtain a key.

Holy shit! I just got an email with a beta key!

It was from someone @cbs.com. What site is that? Gamespot or something?

This thing is taking FOREVER to download.

Yup, the GS code.

This game is very british/european. From the narrator to the words you can choose from in descritptions, "Daft" "Rubbish". I don't think I ever used those words before in normal discussions. Where is, "Sweet" "Awesome "Cool" ?

How much of the game is unlocked in the beta? Cause I only got one background.

well it's definitely in the style of euro-hipster which is definitely a plus. Plus Stephen Fry narration in the game kicks ass from what I've seen.

G4 starting sending out codes for the X-Play code giveaway! I failed on every other code giveaway, but finally got one here! Gotta free up some time tonight to check this thing out!

Damn I really want to get into the beta. I think my brother and I have tried about 10 different websites to get into the beta and have been denied by all of them. Oh well I guess the release date isn't too far off at this point......or at least that's what I keep telling myself.

The very first part of the game reminded me of old Monty Python animation. It's got a definite British tilt to it, which I really like.

I spent about 5 hours just playing around with the pre-made and user made levels, and I had a lot of fun. And I normally hate platformers.

I really hope they do a soundtrack release.

ok...so...I'm trying to make a level here, and I'm sure it was mentioned in a tutorial or something, but is there a way to make the sackboy jump without automatically going into the background?

I was testing out the first obstacle of my level which is a small run up a ramp and then there's a some objects to jump onto at the end. I was in the foreground running up and wanted to jump onto an object in the foreground, but everytime I jumped I kept heading into the background... I tried holding down on the stick while jumping, but that didn't do anything...

edit: nevermind guess it was something with how i was placing my objects, cuz now it's working...

For anyone interested, the 1up show has a lot of LBP coverage, loved by everyone of course, and they mention a lot of specific levels people have created (any famous cag creators out there?)

got my beta key today (thankyou ign :))
and i love it!

I wasnt so sure before on wether I would be getting this game or not
but I've just pre-ordered mine.

Anyone else get a key today at ign?

I'll welcome disney stuff as long as it's not overwhelming. normally I reject it, but in this setting it works. plus alot of japanese and american people will love the idea, if not gamers.

Finally got a key from IGN as well and just finished playing through the story part of the demo. Haven't gotten to work yet on the moon for the creator stuff.

Still trying to get used to moving in and out of the screen. It just feels a little clunky the way its done.

Stephen Fry was a great choice for the narrator though :D
