I was expecting the Left 4 Dead DLC to go on sale for Halloween but now is fine as well. Guess I'll finally pick up The Passing now...

I already agree with you on this one, but why are you guys even arguing this?
They weren't all $10 last year. I think the only 2 games that were priced at $20 were Penny Arcade Ep1 and PQ: Galactrix. Neither of those games did well.
Episode 1 did really, really well. Episode 2 ended up being one of the worst selling games on XBLA.
The Passing: 320 points
My remaining balance: 310 points

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
My balance as well...

I have L4D2 on PC and I've played the DLC. The new campaign is pretty decent but I feel it wasn't quite as good as the other L4D2 Campaigns. I'd say it's worth it if you still play the game a lot but you aren't missing much if you skip it.

Are the Deathspank games worth it? Been trying to decide whether to get them or not. (Its between those, or getting some of those October games, namely Hydrophobia and Comic Jumper)

i absolutely LOVED deathspank. best arcade game since shadow complex in my opinion. so so stoked for the 2nd one on wednesday. day one purchase for me...

Might have to get the 2nd one for now atleast, heard its coming with 2 free DLC packs for the first week. (Some new Spider Co-Op character and a Dungeon). Not sure if its just for PSN or XBLA though

Anyone else think this week is kinda lame? I mean just 1 dlc? When they've done DLC in the past they've offered other add ons or avatar gear. I don't think L4D had any avatar gear, but honestly they couldve had a theme or something. Next week is hopefully better!

Deathspank wears thin after a while. I find the dialogue to be lol funny but its gameplay is flat. Bought it day one, level 17. Can't seem to muster energy to beat it. The perspective hurts my eyes and I feel like you are never close enough to deal with the action.
New stuff revealed.
Sweeeeeeet. I've been holding off on Toy Soldiers because I knew it'd go on sale sooner or later. Good on them for putting it on sale right before the DLC goes on sale. So now instead of spending 1200 points on the original game, I can get that and the DLC for the same price. Wish they'd do sensible things like this more often!
So, is it worth getting the L4D2 dlc? I have the game, and been meaning to get back into it.
yeah it is-

i bought it right away so for 320 less than $5 it sure is-
cool reasons to buy it

1)just to see the l4d1 characters interact with the l4d2 characters alone was cool-n to see what has happened to them since left for dead 1

2) new gun-the m60--like a machine gun that has like 250 bullets n no reload-so you can just keep shooting it till it runs empty

3)new type of infected (not special infected)- a new uncommon infected in the form of the 'Fallen Survivor', ---a well-equipped zombie that may drop useful items, but instead of attacking, runs away from the players-he will drop pills/molotovs/pipe bomb-it depends

4) new melee-golf club

5)Mutations
New game modes, "Mutations", have been offered every week after "The Passing"'s release; these game modes alter the conditions of play. These "Mutations" are only available for a single week at a time, though Valve has added the popular "Realism Versus" mutation to the game as a permanent game mode. Other mutations will be available for voting to make encore appearances every four weeks following the popularity of the "Last Gnome on Earth" mutation

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but on XBox Live in the "Spotlight" section, there is a vote going on for what is going to be the Deal of The Week for October 18th. Looks like the choices are between
Deathspank (the first one)
Perfect Dark
Dragon Age Origins Addons (The Last 3, I think)
Trials HD Big Pack
Battlefield Bad Company 2 DLC.

Kinda cool that they're letting the public decide what we want to have on sale, I hope this isn't just a one time thing and something they do recurring for a while.

Sorry, here's the actual details of the Various Potential sales :

Deathspank for 800 MS Points
Perfect Dark for 400 Points
DA Orgins Addons
Leiliana's Song for 320 Points
Darkspawn Chronicles for 240 Points
Golems of Amgarrak for 240 Points
Trials HD Content :
Trials HD for 800 Points
Big Pack for 240 Points
BFBC2 Addons :
Onslaught Mode for 400 Points
SPECACT Upgrade for 320 Points.

Sorry for the lack of the actual info, I posted after I had already voted, had to go back on another name for the actual info.

I got it all and updated the OP. Thanks, because I would have missed that.

I also updated the DLC post to reflect the possibilities so that you can review that info before you vote. Any changes/suggestions, please PM or post them.

heard elsewhere that deathspank 2 will have free dlc for those who purchase it @ launch time, any confirmation on that? I am going to vote for deathspank and trials hd dlc, yeaah!

I'm voting for the remaining Dragon Age: Origins DLC. Wanted to play those before DA2 releases.

Will have to try the Toy Soldiers trial again to remind myself of it before buying.

I'm debating between DeathSpank and Perfect Dark, 400 points for Perfect Dark is a nice deal...

I think I'm gonna vote DeathSpank though, cus I can't see myself playing Perfect Dark over Halo: Reach as far as online shooters go, so DS gets my vote.

edit: ugh... the Battlefield Bad Company 2 DLC is winning, 24 percent right now... death spank at 18 percent. perfect dark at 21, dragon age at 19 and trials at 15... meh

*sigh*
I'd buy PD for 400msp.

Haven't all the other voting options already been on sale in the past or show up on an Ultimate/GotY edition?
Deathspank just came out. Was that part of Summer of Arcade? I guess it was technically on sale if you bundled it with a handful of other games.

Well I'm voting for Battlefield when I get home because I've wanted that DLC but $10 bucks each was too much. $9 for both is right up my alley.

The arcade games will go on sale again at Christmas and I have the Dragon Age DLC I want so I'll vote on Battlefield. Disc game DLC goes on sale less often than XBLA games.

It came out right before Summer of Arcade.

No it wasn't part of Summer of Arcade, but I picked Deathspank up via a PS3 gameshare so that is probably why I thought it had been on sale in the past.

Is the SPECAT DLC the stuff you could get for free via the Dr. Pepper/EA cap contest?

Definitely voting for Deathspank when I get on the 360 later. I would also download Perfect Dark at 400 points, but I REALLY hope Deathspank wins. I'll download for sure then.
Logged into mine and my husband's account and voted for Deathspank.
How rude! I was going to force him to vote dragon age or break his elbow!

So glad I waited on toy soldiers. Nearly bit two weeks ago on it.

Yea, I'll vote for DeathSpank or Perfect Dark. I'd wouldn't mind seeing Battlefield win only because they already made me download the add on but I can't use it so its using hard disk space for no reason.

Heh, he's more a PC gamer. Doesn't even know those disc-based games. He only knows of Deathspank because I've told him about it.
