I'm sure it's quite fun for 600 points, but my issue (like a lot of us CAGs) is my backlog. I have 50 plus games (maybe even 100) that I haven't touched, so something like this has to blow me out of the water (400 points for Hydro Thunder was good enough for me) for me to buy it.

I buy 3-5 games a week (Castlevania Lord of Shadows Collector's Edition is just one of the games waiting for me as I write this), so it's tough for me to spend even 600 points on a game I might play 1 or 2 times a month.
Yea I hear ya. I too have a backlog quite that size, physical and digital media, of which I've yet to dive into. Coupled with the games I currently play daily online, it really makes me wonder when I'll get to some of these games. I have about 70 arcade and 10 indie games downloaded on 360, some I've played and some I haven't too much, with another 18 more arcade game trials waiting to be bought. That's a fun little backlog in itself. I nabbed Hydro Thunder as well, 400 was a great price. Hopefully they can put the Tempest DLC on sale too.

I think I can get a ton of fun from MNC for the time being as a change of pace online game for me. Plus with future content, I'll always come back and play it. I guess a lot of things appeal to me about this game. I wouldn't buy it for 1200 and I had planned to skip over it with these holiday deals, but I changed my mind at the last second. I guess that's what creates a backlog huh? More games you just need to play.
BTW Is MNC worth if for single player only? I don't know how much of an online community it has left linda like Castlevania.
There is no single player. Well one minor mode but that would be no fun offline. Community is still pretty good, I was playing games at 5 am on a weekday last week.

Some of you guys who are on the fence, MNC is a really cool game. Definitely worth 7.50. 2.50 shouldn't make THAT much of a difference...just make lunch an extra day or something. :)

*EDIT* and I definitely think Limbo will be 600 points as well. Hydro Thunder, IMO, was the weakest of the SoA games, and shouldn't haven't even been included (Shank or Death Spank would have been better choices...especially Death Spank). Castlevania wasn't all that great either. I remember MS sent me a survey on the game and I actually spent the hour, filling it out, criticizing the price.

Hoping they knock Sonic 4: Ep 1 down tomorrow. I'd probably bite at 800 points, hoping for lower though. One game I've been wanting to play because I've heard alright things about it and I do love the older 2D Sonic games, but 1200 points is nuts for an episodic game.

I feel asleep and missed the ME2 DLC :bomb:

I knew I should have just clicked download instead of thinking about it/procrastinating while playing Lego Batman. Seriously, Lego Batman? I'm not sure what has gotten into me.

Can't wait to pick up MNC and get into that game, I loved the demo, but $15 seemed too steep at the time.

I think that Hydro Thunder also was a Microsoft Games Studios Game, so they probably could discount it more. Found memories playing that game, I had the full retail release on the Dreamcast.

Those that haven't played LIMBO, lower your expectations, the game is good and certainly worth playing through. I would have ejoyed it more without all the hype.
Does this [end date] apply to the 80 point character pack as well?
That end-date is based off info from the game's title screen. Anyone who has the game want to chime in?

MNC is the primary reason I am severely behind in my backlog. Haven't even opened AC:B or Fable 3. Barely playing Vietnam. It's all MNC's fault - very very addictive game. Best downloadable game of 2010, IMO. It still has a strong player base and the developer plans more content.

The game is DEEP. 30 hours in I was still learning new tricks and little things I didn't realize. It's better than TF2.

For those that hate the announcer (Micky Cantor) - He annoyed me for about the first 5 hours I played but now I think he's hilarious and I quote him all the time. I'll take Micky Cantor over will Farrel for my obnoxious comedy fill any day.
Sonic & Knuckles is at 240 points. Has it been at this price for a while, or is this price an early discount?
It has been that price since the last sale

I can't wait for this sale to be over, so I can declutter the OP and just go back to mentioning off topic sales and price drops in a post.
Damn, was looking forward to the discounted Fable III DLC. Saves me some MSP, though, I've spent more than enough already.
Yeah when I here one hero in a world of good vs evil, I don't think Sonic
Punisher: War Zone in HD - 1440 Microsoft Points - 50% off

Good grief, this movie costs 2880 in HD???
Just going off the info intoxicated gave me. Looking at the prices I'd wager that there is little to no discount on some of those or the discount hasn't hit yet, I'll double check when I get to my xbox.

From the little Ive played, I enjoy Case West.

I kind of wish more games handled DLC like Dead Rising. It's nice to know I can still play it if I decide to ever sell DR2.

Grrr still going back and forth on Monday Night Combat... I know I want Limbo. Problem is I also want to get the Crackdown 2 DLC and 2 Sonic Games Tomorrow (Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic 4)...

Guess I might have to go buy another pts card... :bomb:

I had to deliberately keep postponing the purchase until the sale was over.
I mean, it was a great price for those three and I wanted to play them, but I decided I'll wait for the GOTY edition that will inevitably come out with all the dlc.

Your excuse is better than mine....I stopped by Kmart on the way home from work to hunt for a copy of Sly Collection for my PS3 and got so aggravated due to their sloppy excuse for an electronics department that I forgot to buy the ME2 stuff when I got home. Seriously, Kmart? Wtf was _I_ thinking?
Yeah when I here one hero in a world of good vs evil, I don't think Sonic
Scott Pilgrim Vs The World is what comes to mind for me, hence the recent dlc just released but let's hope it's Sonic games instead from sega I could use sonic adventures+maybe even the DX Upgrade for the same price of the msrp of the game itself.

I cannot recommend Monday Night Combat enough to all of you. Probably my favorite XBLA game ever. I've played it a couple times a week every week since it was released in the summer and it stays fun and unlike any other shooter out there. If you're a fan of a team based objective shooter(ala BFBC) then I highly recommend you pick it up. Even more so if you like the Team Fortress 2 graphic style, though it carves enough of a niche for itself graphically that it doesn't feel like a direct copy.

Single player is okay. It's fighting off waves of bots and is fun but the legs of the title are in the Crossfire multiplayer mode. Anyone concerned about the community for the game need not worry. I have never had trouble joining a game in the 5 months I have played it now and there is and incredibly active community over at the official forums at uberent.com/forums

Anyone who wants someone to play with is welcome to Friend Request me as well! I really cannot recommend this game enough!
I just remembered that the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 dlc is getting ready to disappear forever again. I need to buy it. I want the MUA dlc (the heroes pack, I bought the villains pack) but I am thinking about trying to grab a Gold Edition off of ebay.
is there a way to save the mua2 and mua1 dlc? is it possible to copy it onto a usb flash stick? i fear that after 12/31/10, even if you bought the dlc, it will not be able to be downloaded again if i have a hdd crash or buy a new console.
Has anybody bought points directly from MS? I've heard folks rail against it but not sure why.
That gives them your credit card information, and then it was quite literally impossible to get your credit card information removed from their system. I'm not sure if that is still the case.

I like it as well. I played Case Zero on 360, playing DR2 on PC right now, and will play West Case Scenario on 360 as well, especially if it goes on sale.

If my wife likes the look of the Co-op, will probably pick up two copies of the 360 when it gets really cheap used.

Why? Why do you people keep pledging your undying love for this game when I was hoping to ignore it since I don't have enough points to get this and Limbo? Fine. You guys win. I'll buy another damn points card.

Is it difficult to break in to? Will I be completely dominated if I don't normally play team based shooters?

No longer the case ... you just have to call 800-4-MY-XBOX.

If you bought it, MS will keep a copy around for you to still grab from your purchase history, so no backup USB sticks are necessary. It's only the Xbox v1 DLC that's permanently toast for obvious reasons, or some free advertising or game videos that really aren't that important.

It has already been answered that it should always be re-down-loadable from your purchase history, but yes, if you want to you can connect any usb external HD or flash drive, format up to 16 gigs for xbox use and put it on there for "safe keeping" to ease your mind. (keep in mind you can only have two external HD's set up with your xbox at a time though) I currently use one for games and one for DLC storage I'm not readily using at the moment.
Does this [end date] apply to the 80 point character pack as well?
There's little reason why the character pack would stay at 80pts ... 224mb of content is A LOT of meggage to keep down at 80pts forever. Stop procrastinating & just spend the $1 if you think you'll play the game.

People buying MNC today (Tips):

- Start off playing Assault, he's easy mode.
- Spend some time playing each class and learning what each of their 4 skills do and how to invest in upgrading them in what order that fits your play style.
- This game is primarily about MAKING MONEY. It isn't Team Death Match. It isn't about kills. If you play it like it is, you will lose often and piss off your team. Do whatever you need to do to make money. The only stat that really matters is lifetime earnings and wins (destroying money ball).
- Learn to taunt and taunt often. You press DPad right + A to taunt. Do it within 1-2 seconds of a kill and you will get $100.
- With most classes, most of the time, the alternate weapon taunt animation is quicker.
- Learn to build turrets, but avoid the Machine Gun Turret, as experienced tank players can juice off it easily. Turrets can earn you money fast.
- The game starts to really become fun when you can buy your first custom class slot and use endorsements. Rate of Fire endorsement seems to have the most dramatic effect on your kill ability on most classes.
-Escort Bots. This is very important. Only Bots can bring down the money ball shield. Additionally, destroying bots gives players juice really fast. If you are frustrated at players juicing all the time and kicking your ass, start protecting your bots.
- No, the Assassin is not cheap or overpowered but new players usually think so. You'll quickly learn there are many counters for them, as there are for everything in the game.

Sorry if this hijacks the OP. I just really like this game and want people to have fun. For more information, visit the thread in the Xbox forum, or Uber entertainments forums.

Is it difficult to break in to? Will I be completely dominated if I don't normally play team based shooters?
I don't think it's particularly hard to break in to, the only real learning curve comes from learning the way the 6 different classes play and interact with each other. There are only 4 maps(so far, more dlc is planned beyond the one free dlc already out.) so once you learn those and where the hazards on the map are, I feel it's a pretty balanced game. The classes all play sufficiently different and there is a place for all of them on a balanced team.

If I had to give a few suggestions to first time players it's to remember that the object of the game is not to post the highest K/D ratio. A lot of kids coming over from COD seem to think that's the case and will try to rub it in your face when they have a high ratio but their team loses the match anyways. I don't feel like you'll get dominated the same way you would jumping into a game like COD where 2 shots kills you and it feels very un fun(not fun? fun deprived? whatever the right word is.) Kills in this game(aside from a few times that good snipers have picked me off from halfway across the map(which has been balanced in the recent dlc with the addition of walls to block long line of sights) always seem to be fair, for the most part.

Not to say that there aren't players that are just really good at this game, there are. But from what I've noticed there's been a steady stream of new players too in the months following the release so that you should be able to find yourself in games a majority of the time with players you can have an enjoyable game against.

The game is satisfying to me because a well played, communicating team will beat a team of disorganized hotshot players every single time and that's a game I can get behind.

Hmmmm it looks like I'm getting a points card today. I will be picking up Toy Soldiers.Should I get MNC or hold for the steam release? An organized CAG MNC night might push me over the edge. Is there one of those around?
Is it worth it to buy the MUA 2 dlc. I have the game and was thinking about. What would you guys recommend?
Yes get it because in three days, it will be gone. That and MUA1 DLC will be gone in three days.

In my opinion the Sonic 4 game is rather poor in several design elements.
Its nothing compared to the originals.
Its done by Dimps who did the Sonic Advanced and Sonic Rush level designs.
Very blocky, very bland, very uninspired, very annoying.
I'd stick to the originals or the fan scene if you need a real sonic fix.
Unless the discount is less than 400 points. Remember its just Episode one, so there's a lot less content then one would expect.
The originals are a much much better deal.
Though if you liked Sonic Advance 3 and don't mind all the odd design quirks then its not so bad for a discounted price. Still, five bucks max is my limit for that. Just don't expect any fresh nostalgia, its a little sour here.

On another note. I dont even have ME2 yet and I went ahead about bought the DLC anyway.
Glad I got a heads up on the thread here though, I was a bout to skip it. Thanks guys.
Now just to find a cheap copy of the main game.

thanks for the insight. i heard that some of the older stuff on xbox arcade such as umk3 and whatnot have been removed due to midway going out of business, and people who purchased it still weren't able to redownload it from their download history. i feel somewhat confident that MS will have a copy around.

thanks for the confirmation. going to transfer it onto a usb stick and then also try to have a copy saved on pc hdd to ease my mind since i am only somewhat confident in microsoft having it available for redownload in the future.
