Just bought this tonight for a steal along with Killzone 3 cashing in SYWR points. I'm fairly certain the 360 version is the same price but YMMV. Kmart is quickly becoming my favorite place to buy games.

EDIT: Yes, I mean Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and this is a B&M deal. Again, YMMV.

Found one stashed with the 360 games at my Kmart. It looks like someone caught onto this, but too bad for them. Score!!!
 
I will go to my K-Mart tomorrow morning and buy some of these to send out to CAGs on a first come first serve basis. Don't ask me yet because I don't know how many I can get.

Oh, and just my $.02, I own this game for PS3 and 360, and the PS3 version is FAR superior (unlike most multi-platform games). Please keep your mouth shut if you just want to ramble about topics you are ignorant to.

That's very kind of you. I'm going to have to hope I can get ahold of you fast. Been itching to play this forever. Good to know that the PS3 version is better. I'd prefer it on that platform for some reason. Konami just feels more at home on PS3 I guess. Hated to play Bayonetta on 360 but I know for a fact the PS3 version was a train wreck. Ah well, ce la vie.

NP, I'm just worried about the shipping cost for these. I don't want to make profit on any of these, but do want my total paid with tax, plus exact shipping back. I don't think many people around my Kmart buy games there because they almost always have what I want! And you are 100% correct with Bayonetta. I had both versions of that game as well and ditched the ugly, choppy, flat PS3 version and kept it for 360. Same thing with Ghostbusters.
 
My wife checked one of the two Kmarts we have within 40 miles earlier today and all they had was the 360 version. Pass. Switching discs FTL.

I'm going to check the other one tomorrow but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Yea I ended up playing Ghostbusters on the PS3 anyway. The Blu Ray bonus content sealed the deal and it didn't look too terrible. Plus after I finished they did patch it to supposedly fix the graphical issues. Wouldn't know I haven't been back to it.

Idk about the rest of the CAGs but I have no problem covering ship costs/taxes/etc. Been wanting a copy of this for a while but passed initially since the CE really didn't offer all that much. Seems like it is becoming a bit of a rarity and may not drop much lower than this. : /
 
Picked up the last copy of the PS3 version there, woot! There were plenty of 360 copies there so I guess other people knew about this. Glad I was able to snatch it. It was tucked very very deep in the back.

Disc 2 could be installed so switching won't be necessary. That's an option.
 
:bomb:I went back to the one Kmart that had C: LOS LE for both 360 and PS3 last night to buy the PS3 version for a buddy of mine from CAG/PSN and it was GONE. I was just there YESTERDAY and today there was an ominous gap where the game was originally.

Funny thing though, is that this store also has 2 LBP 2 CE's, a Fable III LE and numerous other LE/CE/SE games in the cases. The 360 copy of the game was still there though, which doesn't help my buddy at all.

sound track ain't all that great unless you like orchestral stuff, even then from a Castlevania game you want to hear the classic themes. Only track that sound even close to the classic melodies is "Belmont's Theme"

I see that thread, but I can't find the clearance title post from SHC-Gamer inside which this Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was apparently listed inside at some point with numerous other titles. Was it ever posted a little under 2 weeks ago?

I really hope my Kmart doesn't sell out of this; I've been waiting for a great price, but I'm totally broke! I think it'll be fine though, no one buys video games at Kmart in my town either. :rofl:
 
I have both the 360 and PS3 and I bought it specifically for the PS3 because I didn't want to install both disks. Also, like the classic Castlevanias, you can go back to previous areas in Lords of Shadow and backtracking may require multiple disk changes on the 360.

I've noticed that many multiplat games now include bonus extras on the PS3, i.e., Dead Space 2, Dante's Inferno, etc. I will most definitely be getting Portal 2 on the PS3 (PC version is free via Steam if you buy the PS3 version, IIRC).

Can you explain why it is superior? This is a game I have interest in and would like to know.

well after you beat a level at any time you can go replay it and collect any upgrades you missed some of which you cant obtain until you get an ability to be able to get it.

also you can replay the levels with a new challenge in it (ie kill a certain number of enemies, do it in a certain amount of time etc)

also you cant do the hardest difficulty until you beat the game once already and once you beat the game everything is already unlocked all levels that is.

The point of all this is... the ps3 comes on one bluray, the xbox 360 comes on 2 dvds... from what I understand you have to switch dvds depending on what levels you are doing.

Now granted you could purposely minimize this yourself by not going back and forth between levels too often... however to me and perhaps you, that would be annoying.

as for graphical and performance standpoints I cant say other than the PS3 version plays flawless and I had no problems with it and it looks amazing.

For all I know the xbox version could be the same way. Dont own an xbox and i wouldn't buy the game for both platforms regardless.

And that is why I passed on the 360 version. But of course according to the poster above that was a moot point anyway. This clearance is for the ps3 version only?

So Kmart online doesn't have any way of checking their store stock, right? I mean, I checked both stores myself but didn't see it. That doesn't mean it wasn't buried somewhere. And trying to get help from, let alone find, and associate is like pulling teeth.
 
I also found the Xbox version at my local Kmart and it rang up for 59.99. Hopefully nobody will buy it and it will eventually drop to 29.99 as well.

Ive got the 360 version and the disk swapping is not an issue. Sure, the ps3 version comes on one disk, but the versions are identical otherwise. Great game for 30, sweet deal if you can snag the CE for that price!
 
Thanks OP. I must have checked that Kmart drop list 4 times and never noticed this LE in there, the formatting makes it hard to skim. Any other gems in the drop list? Besides Enslaved $14.99

Grabbed the last copy, it was funny as there were 10 normal copies right next to it marked $49.99.

Isn't most games that are both on PS3 and Xbox 360 that it looks/runs better on the xbox360?

Can anyone else confirm this?

Got the last one in Tucson; tagged at $79.99; Maurice, the electronics guy, was surprised when it rang up at $29.99, and also said only one other guy in town hits the kmartgamer deals. He also lamented that he somehow never hears about these markdowns.
Anyway, getting this was extra-sweet because I'd been regretting passing up the same deal at amazon around christmas...so I got a second chance! Artbook is meh, haven't listened to soundtrack yet.

The Symphony of the Night download was a Best Buy exclusive.

Lords of Shadow was developed for the PS3 then adapted to the 360, so no, not in this case. Usually it's the other way around.

Found a copy for PS3 a couple days ago at Kmart in Billerica, MA (north of Boston). There is still at least 1 copy left for Xbox360.

Was in kmart tonight and saw they still had that limited edition ps3 version of the game tucked back in the bottom far back of the case on edge with no price visible that I had seen the week it released. No one was working back there so I picked up a few things and figured I'd stop back by electronics before leaving. When I returned back there an employee was helping these folks get their kids some games out of the case so while he was in there I asked the price and he said $69.99 or $79.99 without getting it out. So I take it the price is just for certain kmarts?

For PS3 it's $30 at every K-Mart. The guy saw the sticker and just read it to you, he didn't bother checking, he was being the normal lazy K-Mart employee.

You know in Ghostbusters how everyone vehemently remind each other not to cross the streams? Always do a price-check when you're in doubt.

Never trust an employee's word of mouth or price tag of a game.. always get it scanned. This applies to all retailers. The only time you should go by the price on a tag is if its lower than what it scans for, then you have a decent chance of getting them to match the price tag lol.
