so far what is known, it's 16 players via Live. I also hear that online runs real nicw without a hitch.

I just pre-ordered my CE LP today so I can get whatever code I need for the extra online map...

God I can't wait for this game - I am looking forward to it more than Gears of War. I can't believe how much I love my Xbox 360 considering I was on the fence about getting one and I never owned an Xbox. This is the game I've been waiting for...

EDIT: And this is why I love video games:
Your new friends, a band of apparently friendly snow pirates, offer to let you hang with them while you get your bearings. Their leader is Yuri, a Sephiroth-looking guy who's just a touch on the creepy side. Your two other new friends are Rick, a dreadlocked dude who sports sunglasses, and Luka, a busty lass who, despite the freezing conditions, is showing off a surprising amount of cleavage.
:D

Hey, online is pretty damn good when I get into a match.

I'm sure someone has brought this up, but I thought it was crazy that they had an ad for it before Borat at my theater.

Maybe this is common these days, I don't go to theaters much.

no, not like that. its the first time ive heard of there being an exclusive map for the lost planet collectors edition.
A pre-order incentive that's actually somewhat collectible and entertaining? I don't believe my eyes!
I think the last action figure pre-order was with Star Wars Battlefront... it had a real sweet Scout Trooper.

Last action figure was the Helena one that came with DoAX2.

Famitsu gave this game all 9's.

1) Cool that it feels like a big-budget sci-fi movie. You'll need to keep collecting Thermal Energy to stay alive, so you'll have to stay in the action at all times. If you find the game too hard, swallow your pride and play it on Easy mode. Playing against players from around the world looks like fun. SCORE = 9

2) Plays pretty much like an orthodox FPS game. The game balance lets you play through the game without much stress. Very inventive in that you have your human weapons and Vital Suit weapons, and you can use them all on foot. The slower movements of the hefty Vital Suits balance out their overwhelming firepower and add to the tension. SCORE = 9

3) From the realism of the snow and air in the environments to the battles that really put you in the middle of the action, this game has it all. Battles against giant enemies and robots are super-exciting. May take some people a little time to get used to the unique controls and gameplay concepts. Story plays out well, with twists and turns throughout the experience. Online multiplayer seems a bit bland, but it's fun to play nonetheless. SCORE = 9

4) Despite the weapon balancing being fine-tuned with the multiplayer in mind, the story mode truly is a blast! Battles with creatures in the extreme conditions are intense and very challenging. The bosses are big, and the pattern-recognition style of boss-conquering is very rewarding. SCORE = 9
I am really curious what Famitsu gives/gave gears of war.
probably high 20s, low 30s.
Will I get the action figure too by preordering at amazon.com?
you should not. it is for eb/gamestop preorders only. presumably they will be the only retailes to get the shipment of figures

I went to preorder the action figure at local EB, but the manager has no clue about the action figure. I showed him a print out of the EBgames.com's lost planet preorder page, and he think that action figure is sold seperately, and only people who preordered get to "buy" one. Idiot can't even read. I ended up didn't preorder one. I guess I will try other EB/GS some other times. Any suggestion? should I just preorder, even though the manager has no clue? I am worry if he's gonna sell my action figure to me seperately.

Gamepro sez 3 out of 5.

I don't have it preordered, and between this and the OXM score, I think I'll wait for you guys to tear into it first.

Gamepro gave it a 3!? *cancels preorder*

Now that 've gotten all the sarcasm out of my system, I can move on XD

Anyway, I work at GS and I'll let you guys know when we get the figures in. We haven't gotten them yet. Though I wonder how a manager could know nothing about it when my store has two giant LP posters with the action figure offer in big letters.

Even though, imo, Gamepro isn't a very credible source, this game has gotten hyped up for a long ass time... I expect it to fall short of people's expectations.

I'm also going to let others play it first, see what they have to say, before I get it.

Even playing the year+ old demo, that thing itself is more fun than a "3". GamePro and Scarry Larry or Plunder Pete or whatever tard reviewed that game has about as much credibility as a street whore.

Gamepro gave Wii Sports a 5 in the graphics department.. they gave NBA 2K7 a 3 in the graphics department on PS3.

..yep.

This is kinda weird. Just got a friend request from this guy, who was playing Lost Planet.
The first day he played it is the day that it leaked out onto the net.. so.. plus it's region free..

According to articles i've read and the guys that played the leaked version, the game is, as predicted, very short, and can be beaten in 6-8 hours. The curse of the Dead Rising text is in full effect (the game has tiny, tiny text unless you have an HDTV).

Should be easy to catch the guys that pirate it, eh? They're bragging about playing it on Live for 20+ hours. These guys are morons.

I don't mind short games like I used to, especially when there is a strong online/multiplayer element. My brother and I were pretty surprised to beat GoW today, but I still love the game.

My brother saw copies of this at bestbuy 2 weeks ago... Why haven't any of your guys got it yet?

No he didn't.

He saw the "preorder now!" case.

Ugh.. at that length I think this might be a rental. Especially since the online isn't all that hot (compared to GRAW, R6, Gears) and there's no Co-Op. I really was excited for this one. Maybe I'll get it after a price drop.

The online is great, it's just the mode that's only playable in the demo sucks... deathmatch is perfect for the game.

Ive got so many games to play that a 6-8 hour game doesn't bother me as much anymore. As long as the Multi is kick ass, I dont mind

It wasn't a pre-order..... My brother asked the employee why the game was on the shelves. He replied "because with christmas coming they won't care if we put them out or not." My brother was going to buy it, but he wanted to wait for the reviews.

the shortness doesnt bother as much as the lack of local co-op (or any co-op for that matter) it seems like local co-op is the stepchild of this gen.
sucks because i really enjoy being able to play coop with a buddy without him havign to buy the game and using two 360's

Ugh. The "Collector's Edition" looks almost as ugly as the platinum hits cases.

I'm going regular edition on this, maybe I'll be able to borrow someone else's disk to download the "bonus" map.

Then again I absolutely hated the Multiplayer Demo... maybe I'll just wait until summer to get the game at all.

I do love playing snowy games in the winter :whistle2:\
