What level do you play on? I play on all-pro with 7 minute quarters and I've hardly had problems at all with these things. The CPU hardly ever catches me when I have a 14 plus point lead, I'm able to draw them offsides at least a couple times a game along with an occasion pass interference penelty, I have a fair amount of injuries (though none are ever really serious and the Lions seem particulrly fragile), I hardly challenge because that was always broken in past version so I learned to only try it if it was a game changing moment, I agree with the fatigue problem, I average probably around 2-3 sacks a game and that is with the crappy Lions pass rush. I know this may make me sound like a dick, but perhaps some of these problems are being incurred from how you play the game and not so much the fault of the game itself.
I play with the same settings as you. I usually win (10-2 in franchise), but it's never without some A.I. induced frustration. I have never had a pass interference penalty in my favor. None of my players have been injured, in fact, the only time I've seen an injury is when I was playing someone from the Madden league and took Clinton Portis out of the game. I only challenge important plays but it makes no difference since you WILL always lose them. I can usually muster up two sacks per game, but they generally come on LB blitzes that I call and never come from DEs.
Like I posted earlier, getting sacked about 3 times per game when you try a quick hand-off is ridiculous. That's not a result of my play style or skill, it's just plain cheap A.I., which also seems to muster nonexistant pass interference calls (which is usually the only penalty of the game. I have yet to see holding, face-mask, or anything besides offsides, late hit, and pass interference) late in the game when it needs them. In a game the other day, Julius Jones literally broke seven tackles on his way to a thirty yard touchdown - that's bull-shit. The other teams QB becomes Joe Montana, and their running back magically become Barry Sanders when it needs them to be. I am so sick of it. In every game, I usually elect to kick at the start (or kick because the opposition chooses to receive), well about five times already, the oppositions first play from scrimmage results in a TD (against a TB defense that is still statiscally superior) - predetermined? I think so.
If I completely sucked at the game it wouldn't be a problem, but the cheap A.I. makes it feel like it doesn't matter how good I am. Everything seems too predetermined.
