Madden 10 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE (Tournament)- LOTS OF TEAMS AVAILABLE!

Wow...I know I joined the league late, but I'm surprised how many people are just leaving because they've lost interest. I guess I can understand it if you're out of the playoff picture (it's kinda like reaching the point where you know you're going to fail a class, you don't keep going to the class).

But considering that this year's league is being moved along quicker than last year, and the fact that Madden has STILL only been out about 2 months, it blows my mind that people tire of it this quickly. I know Fall is always a super busy time for game releases, but I don't think I could justify purchasing a game to only play it for 2 months. I don't know if it's a Madden thing or a CAG thing, but damn, some of you guys have short attention spans.

It's not just you, man (and I didn't mean anything directly toward you with my comment). I think like 3 people have dropped in the past week. It's just surprising. People were praising this game so highly the week it came out, and now, barely two months later, so many people are done with it (even Soodmeg has grown tired of it). It just kinda makes it seem like more overrated Madden hype.
 
Hey n8, when can you play? I'm usually around late night. Tomorrow would probably be best if you can do something after 11pm est? If that's too late let me know and we can work something out.

11's actually too early, haha. I'll be watching the Yankee game tonight, which doesn't start until 8:20, so I don't really expect it to be over till at least 12:30. But I can play you pretty much as soon as the game ends. If you can't do that, we can shoot for tomorrow.

What happened with my game last week against JayDub514??? I messaged him at the beginning of the week and gave him my number to text me and he said he will be on Monday night??? Almost every week I have initiated the contact, people need to return the favor.

Well I was playing Soodmeg and only down by two touchdowns(!!!) when the game froze. Sucks because I was holding my own much better than anticipated.
 
Texans 24 - Seahawks 3

Wow...my apologies to FrankySox. As I told him, I had no business winning that game. But for some ungodly reason, my defense REALLY showed up tonight. I hardly had to blitz because my d-line was getting ridiculous pressure on their own. At the end of the first quarter, I held a 7-0 lead, and FrankySox had -1 yards of offense.

My TD scores came on a pick 6 with a penalty flag thrown (I was scared as hell it was going to be on me, haha) and 2 quick passes to Steve Slaton when I felt the blitz coming, that Slaton was able to break for 40 yards each time. Other than that, it was a pretty tame game. I'm still amazed at the way my defense played though. I think Franky had 44 yards of offense going into the 4th quarter. GG to Franky though. He just ran into my defense on a day they were awake, apparently, haha. Weird, weird game. But the Texans keep their playoff hopes alive!
 
Rams get trounced by Titans 38-17. The score should have been 38-10, but Tennessee continued to use the shotgun formation and throw the ball late in the fourth quarter despite its insurmountable lead. Rams end up getting a late INT to set up their last score.

Then, in the final seconds, Titans again ran from the shotgun and took three straight shots down the field.

Here's how the Titans' last possession went. Keep in mind, they are up 38-17.

:15 K. Collins pass dropped by K. Britt
:09 K. Collins pass thrown away

Earlier in the game, the Titans intercepted a Rams pass. The defender ran the ball down to the 1 yard line and proceeded to run parallel to the goal line — almost all the way to the sideline — before continuing into the end zone.

Seriously, I don't really care whether I win or not. But it just isn't fun to play this game with that kind of unsportsmanlike conduct. I suppose the only saving grace is that I actually got one more TD because of Soodmeg's play calling.

Anyway, Soodmeg, good game. I actually was looking forward to playing you and hoped that you weren't as big an ass as you seemed. But hey, I couldn't stop you, right? So good for you. Play however you want to play. But, if for some ridiculous reason I end up in the Super Bowl against you, you'll be playing the CPU.

I don't want to waste my time trying to have fun playing this game with you.
 
Hmm...so it's NOT just me. That's what I was saying in my issue with Soodmeg. Being decent to the other players in this league SHOULD be a higher priority than "needing" to run plays at the end of the game, or feeling compelled to score more points to make your win look more impressive. You can dress it up any way you want, but being respectful and humble toward your opponent SHOULD be a must.

Of course this will get twisted into "I'm sorry I don't kneel the ball for the entire 2nd half" and a bunch of other exaggerating "woe is me" bullshit. But anyone who can't see the difference in what "normal play" is and what is actually taking place is an idiot. What bothers me most about it is the fact that Soodmeg seems to be beyond reproach. It's not even acceptable to THINK about asking him to respect the rest of the people in the league, if he cares one ounce about having anybody to play against.

Yeah I really wanted to establish the run and after I got down I probably should have started passing more. Maybe it was playing the computer the previous and being able to run is what convinced me I could run the ball. The D line was a complete monster and I just don't know what the hell happened. Good game though n8 and good luck on those playoffs.

One, that was actually for a tourny so yeah I was doing anything I could to win because, well I wanted to win the prizes. That is very different from running a casual league, plus it was like 3 years ago.

Here is the thing that I hate about you guys, some of you want to play that bullshit respect role and all you do is cheeze. Screw you lyric, that was the worst game of madden I ever had to deal with.

You threw 22 passes 15 of which were to Steven Jackson, then you ran goal line offense not once, not twice, not 3 times but 5 or 6 times in a row in the middle of the field. You also ran the same 6 plays the entire game.

You guys always want to play this, woe is me card when you cheat and cheese way more than a random ranked player and its my fault that I can stop your shitty ass offense and run through your defense.

This was the first time ever that I was actually trying to score at the end of the game because lyric plays like such a bitch I wanted to score more points on him. Do you even know what WR are used for?

But whatever, I am the bad guy only when I vs people who are horrid at the game.

One more thing, fuck you lyric learn to play the game, fuck you n8 quit crying like a 5 year old.

So true. I never expect anyone to kneel the entire second half or anything of the sort. Moreover, I don't care whether I lose 21-14 or 80-14, but I also thought we were supposed to play these games like an NFL coach would. Which NFL coach would take their last two possessions in the fourth quarter, up by 28 and 17, respectively, and pass on every down? It stops the clock if you don't complete the pass, and it also carries a higher turnover risk. Furthermore, the only reason — especially when you have a Chris Johnson in the backfield — is try to score again. And before you even ask: Yes, I contained Johnson when he ran up the middle or anywhere near the inside. However, I couldn't do crap when he'd run to the outside, so Soodmeg definitely could have picked up some first downs on the ground.

And also, in case this comes up: There was no way in hell I was going to catch up. I couldn't do anything offensively. Those of you who play me know Jackson is just about the only thing I have. His stats last night: 15 attempts for a paltry 48 yards rushing, 32 yards receiving and ZERO touchdowns.

But again: Soodmeg did not break any rules. He played the game fairly (as in not cheating) — just without consideration. And he actually punted — TWICE — in the fourth. Consider it a minor victory.

I'm not trying to start any arguments, and I do commend Soodmeg on his Madden prowess. Just have to wonder if that matters at all when no one wants to play him.

FINALLY some honesty! Go with it and get it all out! I like it.

If you know the Rams this year, you know that my weakest spot is my wide receiving corps. Furthermore, if you look at my stats and play style, I win by running the ball, controlling the clock and not turning the ball over.

That being said, I ran 22 pass plays and 20 rushing plays against you. Pretty balanced. My wide receivers accounted for 6 of my 10 completions. You're just pissed because I didn't give you more chances for INTs. You had to walk away with only three.

You say I play like a bitch, but you're the first to rag on me for my play style. Most of my other opponents have enjoyed their experience playing against me (I think). Unfortunately, you cannot say the same thing.

I also love how you justify cheating because it's a tournament with prizes at stake. Classy. Real classy.

But I like the common trait of bitchassness of you 3. Seen quits on defense this cries that I scored too much. N8 assummed I should have ran the ball and calls the wrong defense and the cries for 3 days about it. Lyric calls the same 6 plays and runs goal line the entire game then he cries about running plays.

Everyone knows I pass to the RB. Hell, Steven Jackson led the league in receiving yards for most of the season (still may, I don't know). And also a little secret: I don't call my plays by formation, so I actually don't know what formation I'm in.

And as far as my defense, I found something that was working well against you, so I used it. And it worked well when I did. If you knew what I was going to call, then it should have been even easier on you.

I never pretended to be good at this game. I know slightly more than nothing about football itself, and I'm trying to get better by playing in a league like this. So when you say I'm "cheesing" by calling only a few plays, it's because those are the only plays I've worked on so far. I'd love to utilize my whole playbook, but unlike yourself, I'm just not that good. So my apologies if that is somehow offensive or unsportsmanlike.

Almost everything you did lyric was against the rules but I didn't kick open the thread and start attacking you about nor did I google your name like a 12 year old girl trying to dig up dirt on you. Not that I care that you guys saw that but dude that is straight bitch. Sorry homeland.

Bottom line its cool for you guys to glitch and cheese against me but I am suppose to hold myself to some respect rule and not run legit plays.
