Hey guys, Azu and I have been having this conversation behind the scenes the last couple days and I figured now would be as good as time as any to bring it up here so everyone can interject their own opinion too.
I'm currently running a league along side this one also with 13 teams. As I was looking over the standings in both leagues I've noticed we pretty much have the exact opposite teams selected. So how about combining them? My league is very much modeled after this one, we advance at a weekly schedule (usually every Sunday morning/afternoon, though if we have a lot of vs CPU games the deadline gets moved up) and good sportsmanship is in full effect.
There's 2 notable bumps in the road for this, of course. (Nothing is easy!)
1. There's a 2 team overlap. The Dolphins and the Vikings. Azu made a lot of moves with his Vikings so we've briefly discussed having those moves reflected in his new team if he decided to switch teams. The Fins, I don't know what we'd do there.
2. Previous trades. Luckily most of these can be ignored (for example, the weird trading the Bengals did with the Broncos, since both teams do not have owners in this league but the Broncos are owned in mine. We can just reset those trades). Also luckily my league was never full so moves were always between taken teams and moves made were pretty minimal.
The benefits of combining are we aren't twiddling our thumbs putting up 50 points on the CPU every week. I think the competition is pretty even too. The AFC is our stronger conference and the NFC is the CAG leagues (imo) so I think the balance would remain. I play competitively with everyone in the league and I think I do the same here, so the skill sets are fairly similar.
The point in the conversation we're at now is who goes to who's league? It's a tough question. We're in week 6 here and in my league we're planning on starting week 4 this weekend. So my vote would be to move into mine so everyone has a fair shot at the playoffs instead of possibly starting 1-6 heading into week 7, the worst anyone could be is 0-3. I'm also willing to do the grunt work here. Figuring out a way to make both owners of the Vikings and Dolphins happy and making sure all the moves you made in this league are reflected in the next. And lastly, the Chargers owner in my league writes up these amazing weekly power rankings!
Here's what the divisions would look like. Please tell me what you think.

edit2: sample power rankings from this week!
albear's Week 3 Power Rankings:
1. (1) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0; vs. CPU Steelers)
As effective as Pillage and Plunder can be on the ground, the start of this show was Josh Freeman. Not to say that Pillage and Plunder completely gave way to Freeman but rather contributed a "mere" 125 total rushing yards with three touchdowns. Not that bad considering last season's efforts from Pillage (or was it Plunder? Either way, I mean Derrick Ward) who was able to put up twice that amount of yardage alone. But back to Freeman, who was able to go for 19 of 25 for 265 yards and two touchdowns. The defense is improving too and it shows with how they limited the CPU Falcons to just under seven minutes of total offensive possession as well as picking off Matt Ryan three times. The Super Bowl champs are still rolling strong and what's left of the formerly Salt Gravy-coached Steelers shouldn't stand a chance.
2. (2) San Diego Chargers (2-0; @ Colts)
After a shakey start to the season against the Chiefs, it seems that the Bolts are still looking to find the groove they once had last season. Or at least, it seems that Rivers may be still shaking off the rust from his throwing arm. He went for 13 of 20 attempts for 192 yards with two touchdowns but also turning it over four times. There aren't many games you can win when you turn the ball over four times but the "Lightning Bug" Darren Sproles was able to right the ship and hold off the advances of the Jaguars by scooting his way through the defense for 125 yards and finding the end zone three times. Next week, the Chargers fly out to Indianapolis to take on the Colts, where Philip Rivers can challenge Peyton Manning for the most interceptions.
edit3 and final edit: The league would still be headquartered here regardless. I would get everyone from my league to become members of CAG so we can use this as a hub for setting up games and the like.
