How does this work if we're on at 4? Can we pick in real time?

ubernes, can we make a party during the draft? I can discuss the picks then. Also, if anyone else wants to party up during the draft let me know.
 
BY THE WAY, THIS IS IMPORTANT.

You should probably write down who is on your team before the draft starts. The game will automatically cut your 7 lowest rated players to make room for your incoming draft class, so make sure you know who you had in case you want to pick them back up afterwards.

Yeah, you pick in real time. If the server comes back up for online franchise, you can go online and discuss picks in the chat function, OR use party chat on Xbox Live. Too bad you can't have 10+ people in a party chat...

edit: also I made a note to pick back up Marcus Henry and Wayne Hunter since 2 of my picks aren't mine anyways, so those are going to be the guys I'll keep that get auto dropped.

I forget if you can do this or not. I remember reading beforehand that the game automatically cut 7 players regardless of how much space you had available. I forget if it actually occurred in reality though. I'd be on the safe side and just right down your players.

This year the trade deadline will be week 6, just so all the trades are done automatically through the game.

Hmmm, so I looked at all the QB ratings for teams and the only teams I can see before that NEED a QB upgrade is:
Cincinatti.

Other teams that might nab a QB:
San Fran
Cleveland

Those are the only 3 teams I see that don't have a QB at 78+
I don't think I can mentally handle a season with Culpepper at QB....

Hey BigAT, I dropped Rakeem Jordan and signed Kiwanuka, so Jordan should be available in the FA list.

Edit: Also, since I ended up with a 79 OVR center instead of my second round pick (thanks, CPU), would it be OK if I drop the center and sign Jairus Byrd (FS, 78 OVR) from the FA list? I would have been gunning for safety help in the second round anyway.

I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to do that, it sucked that you didn't really get your first round pick and it wasn't your fault.

The rookie draft only produces junk anyway. Just search the league name in Madden, enter the password (cags) and choose an available team!
 
I've got two games against actual users all year and they aren't until week 13 or so. It'd be nice to have a few more committed folk participate.

Aaron Ross - 82 rated CB - Very good press corner
Kevin Dockery - 77 rated CB
Ahmad Bradshaw - 76 rated HB - Very fast (92 speed) and a fantastic kick/punt returner. He's rated somewhere in the 90's as a KR/PR.

Looking for a good DT in return.

Damn... I don't know if we can get in the game before the deadline. I was going to play the CPU tomorrow (can't tonight) before I just saw that Krregz joined. When can you play, Kreegz?

So, the league will advance tomorrow afternoon.
EVERY OTHER WEEK WILL ADVANCE AROUND 9PM EST.
 
Ugh, I may need to go on a temporary leave. My system is showing signs of E74 error. It's only bad for L4D2, so maybe it'll be okay for Madden (it was okay for Fallout 3, not enough for me to want to play it for hours but a quick game would be fine). With that said, it looks like i'll be MIA until I get the box back. I'm hoping to reach someone tomorrow so I can send it out asap (not sure of the procedure though for the E74s).

Anyways, I'll keep you guys updated. Next week I will be available as I'll be visiting family and should have no problem popping on my brother's if I need to get a h2h game in. I'm probably not going to sweat vs CPU games though so plan on simming them until I'm officially back.
