Slow down Soodmeg. I didn't say people couldn't or shouldn't use the forums to schedule games. I was simply agreeing that if people want to get their games played that Pm's are usually the fastest and most direct way.
 
I agree with Soodmeg (for once). It really should be a 'to each his own' type of situation. If you want to use the thread use it, Live use it, PMs use them, or hell use them all like I personally try to do.
 
PMs/Messages on XBL are always the right way. Then again, I really don't mind if posting in the thread is done. I always like to know when there is an issue playing a game or when a game has been played.

Regardless, while it does clutter up the thread, I really don't see it as an issue.

I disagree, I think the constant asking of when people can play, although ugly, has really improved how quickly we get games done. Thats pretty much all I said. I didnt say you implied anything.

Panthers over Dolphins, 27 - 7 , It was a hard fought game DeAngelo Williams was held to 93 yards rushing and no TD's. The Panthers Defense came out and forced 5 turnovers, (3 int's, 2 Fumbles). Two turnovers were returned for Touchdowns. Chad Pennington came out strong early on putting pressure on the Pathers Defensive core However overall The Panthers Defense elevated their gameplay to make some key stops throughout the game. The Dolphins hard hitting Defense came out and injured DeAngelo Williams for part of the game.Dolphins receiver Ted Ginn was also injured in this bruising match up but he will be out for 4 weeks with a Dislocated Elbow. The Panthers organization wish the young receiver a quick and healthy return to the playing field.

Those were some stupid TOs in the 1st half. When I was scrambling with Rivers out of the pocket, I was tapping X to slide but since I'm using the left analog to find my way around, it decides to do an impromptu juke move with Rivers and I get tackled for a fumble. H'okay. And I'm surprised Bailey got that INT. It looked like it was at least overthrown until you switched and jumped for it. Alright. Then the CPU decides to be mean to me when I throw a perfect pass to Floyd but instead of catching it, the ball tips it off his hand and it turns into an INT. Maaynn.

I made a miraculous comeback using LT, but my defense was tired by the end. That onside kick was soooo close. gg.. enough with these shenanigan turnovers though.

Titans beat Texans 38 - 16. Apparently my DB didnt feel like catching any interceptions because I counted 5 dropped INT 3 by R. Barber.
 
Soodmeg, good game. But that move at the end was straight up asshole. There's no way in hell anyone can justify it. I had no problem with you beating me. I knew coming in you were a great player, and I had about a 0.5% chance of winning. But with a 31-16 lead, with 20 seconds left to play, you're faced with a 3rd and 6 (and I had no timeouts left), and you throw the ball???

I'm sorry, but that is the fucking definition of running up the score. I know you don't believe in that shit, but there is absolutely no good reason to do that, and no fucking NFL coach would ever do that. I thought that's how we were supposed to be playing in this league?

That was a cocksucker move, and you're a cocksucker for doing it. I played you straight up the entire game, and knew when I was beaten, not going for ridiculous shit like 2-point conversions and onside kicks when I knew the game was out of reach. I didn't treat you like an asshole, and I felt I was taking my defeat honorably. But you had to do that at the end. That's fucked up dude.

N8, you should checkout my posting I made after I played Soodmeg. I had a similar experience which he tried to justify at the end. Sad to say it or point the finger but someone sounds like they have a small ego and need to play immaturely even when the game is in hand.

Also Sood, while your write-ups are nice, sometimes it seems like you disrespect your opponent and just care about having the most bloated stats possible.

I understand your experience with him, but I'm not even bringing that into it because this is a separate issue. My question is why he felt he needed another score there. Obviously, I was playing the run because I assumed he was going to be respectful. I didn't even expect him to kneel the ball because the clock could have run out after the 3rd down play anyway. My understanding was the point of this league was (and always has been) to have fun and be respectful to each other. I want to know how Soodmeg can justify that last play as respectful.
 
:lol: Uhhh, it was a WR screen man. I really didnt think it was going to go for 39 yards. You stopped the other 5 WR screens I ran that game I really couldnt guess you wouldnt stop the last one. And it was a good game you stopped be a couple times, kudos to you my friend. My thought process was no more than...hmm maybe 6th time is the charm on WR screens. Trust me, I didnt think to myself that I needed to score another. It was a 2 yard out play, thats hardly screaming I need to score.

It has nothing to do with disrespect, it has nothing to do with ego or whatever. I just find it really boring to kneel 4 minutes in a video game. I just dont dude, I dont understand why its such a massive blow to every ones ego if they get scored on more.

Running plays is fun to me, kneeling for 4 min isnt. Its that simple, it really has nothing to do with anyone of you other than my extreme boredom of watching virtually people stand around.

I have played have had my share of real life blowouts in the various sports I have played so a video game blowout doesnt really bother me.

But...since everyone gets upset I guess I will try to limit what I do at the end of games or something. Maybe set the controller down and go make a sandwich or something.

EDIT: Also, Seen for the last god damn time man I didnt run the score up on you....you gave me more points by calling completely wrong defense (or giving up on defense as you said) and throwing constant INTs. I cant run backwards man, not my fault you cant stop HB dive left.

EDIT 2: Lyrics just won 42-14 where is his, "Holy shit balls, he ran up the score. He should stopped forcing turnovers when he knew he was going to win." And look at that he sacked Warner 3 whole times....clearly he should have stopped playing defensive after he was up by 2 TDs. Dickhead. He just had to get Jackson his 153 yards....running toss plays that his opponent couldnt stop...how dare he. Obviously he should have ran HB dives into the defense has to make sure he didnt gain any extra yards. Pfft!

HOWEVER, When you get the ball back with 1:00 left to play and I'm out of timeouts...and you start calling plays as quickly as possible so the clock doesn't wind down...eh, it started to rub me the wrong way. But, I could easily see that as just habit (thanks to the stupid clock roll off this year), so I let it go.

But there's absolutely no reason to call a pass play on 3rd and 6 with 20 seconds left unless you're trying to score. And there's no question it's being a dick to your opponent. I'm sorry man, but after all the stuff with CAGFC, and us getting along, and ESPECIALLY with the way I was bowing out gracefully to you, I never expected you to feel the need to thump your chest and go for another TD. Another league game the guy did nothing but throw RB screens the entire time. (I find it fucking hilarious that RB are the #1 WR on most of everyones teams.....and I am cheese?) Did I go ape shit and come into the thread demanding his head? No, I played my game and let him play his. Oh and lets not forget the guy who ran goaline against me on a entire drive trying to get his run game going. I am not sure if we have a rule about running 7 goaline plays on the 50 but god only knows if I tried something like that.....

Being that everyone thinks I am the best Madden player brings out the worst in some people when they vs me but I never say anything I just let it go because its not that big of a deal. Between the two CAG leagues I have seen all the cheese of random ranked matches on XBl.

So, no I am not prone to saying I am sorry to a lot of you guys. I dont mean to run up the score I simply play my game and let you play yours. And if my game gives me 70 plus points then so be it.If I score on you at the end of the game....well I guess you should have ran Prevent instead.

Just noticed your 2nd edit wasn't directed at me. I'm glad because that wasn't the case with us at all. Again, I want to keep seen's complaints out of this because he has nothing to do with me. I'd never tell someone to stop playing D (especially when the CPU could easily get sacks for you), or even stop running the ball (although like I said...if you're calling plays as quickly as possible at the end, with a big lead, it does raise questions).

But to me a huge part of being successful in football is keeping the defense off balance and giving them different looks. If you call a pass play when the D is expecting a run, obviously, your chance for success skyrockets. With a minute left in the game, with no hope of winning, all I'm trying to do is prevent you from running all over me and embarassing me worse. It is my firm belief that calling a pass play in that situation is going out of your way to try to embarass your opponent.

If that wasn't your intent, whatever. But you're a grown man, and you should know how that looks. I'm not even going to start throwing accusations at you that you were upset that your DB's dropped those picks and that you only had 31 points, so you wanted to make the game look a little more impressive. But at least see it for what it is.

Sorry to Azu that I'm making a big deal about this, but I'm sorry. I'm right on this one. And I'm not backing down. This was against everything the league allegedly stands for. If Azu defends it, then this "be respectful and play for fun" guise is all bullshit.

I didn't run shotgun the entire game to avoid your blitz. I turned the ball over once. I didn't pause the game and make wacky substitutions. I didn't cheese anything.

I threw a lot to my RB and TE because you brought the blitz almost constantly. I just had to. I didn't go for it on 4th down every time. I didn't go for unnecessary 2-point conversions. I didn't go for an onside kick that wouldn't help me win the game anyway. Look at that list of stuff dude. But you couldn't just run the clock out? How is that not ego?

I'd never suggest adopting 500 bullshit rules like seen wanted, but the basic pretense was "play right". If certain people don't understand what that means, then it's all a joke.

What's funny is the score should have been 49-14. Jackson busted through the line late in the fourth, and I had nothing but green ahead of me. I dived on the ball and ran out the clock because I didn't want to run up the score on Chop Suey. Somewhere along the line I learned that was the honorable thing to do.

I know. Jackson's pretty much all I have, but I've been able to adapt to that. Of course, if he gets hurt ...

And yes, it's pretty ridiculous that three of the NFC West teams are 8-2, 8-2 and 7-2.

As far as the roster changes go.. I did not see any rule about it on the main post. I see that there is one now, but I didn't see it then. If it was there then I made the fuck up. I have already said I was sorry for what took place.Look at the Bills roster though. This is just 1 example of what I saw... With your QB out with an injury for 2 weeks, why would you only have 1 back up with a horrible rating? Especially when you have Gus Ferrott avail in the FA pool who beats the QB in almost all important stats. This got me looking at the rest of the roster. More importantly some of the key roles to the style of game I play. Seeing that I did not have room in the roster for signings I released a lot of players and filled as needed. If you would notice I didn't just take the highest rated players in overall stats. I filled the roster with the skills needed.

I went about it with a game plan in mind. I did not do so maliciously to cause anyone any greif. I am not that kind of person or player. I would rather play sim and get my ass stomped then play cheese and win. I try and keep it as close as possible to the real game. Taking a tactical aproach to it. Which is why I made the changes.

I am glad everything has been sorted out and fixed. If I could forward you a few MS points for your time fixing the Bills I would, but I cant.

By the way, whats the big deal if someone scores an extra 7 pts on u in a game, idk why people care if u lose by 1 or 25 it still counts as 1 win and 1 loss. People need to stop complaining there getting blown out if u care that much get better and beat him. So he scored another touchdown, u had the oppurtunity to stop it.

Despite being beaten out in total yards (334 vs 202) the New York Jets relied on strong defense and special teams to shorten their offensive drives to win against their division rivals the New England Patroits.

With the running game completely stagnant for both teams, rookie Mark Sanchez was once again relied on and delivered another modest performance, throwing for 189 yards, 3 TDs and one pick.

It was the Jets defense though that was the most impressive. Despite allowing veteran Joey Galloway run all over the field for 115 yards receiving, NY was able to pick off Brady 4 times. Jim Leonard had 3 of them on his own.

Randy Moss left the game in the 1st half with a broken forearm. He will be sidelined for 6 weeks.

I'm not talking about kneeling for the entire 4th quarter, but when you don't even have to run a play for the clock to run out, just take your win, and show some respect to your opponent for playing a solid game. It's not even about the score of the game. But by quick calling plays and not letting the clock run down at all, the game just drags on. It's fucking Soodmeg for God's sake. Telling me to "stop complaining and get better" is retarded. You won't beat him. Nobody is going to beat him. The least he can do is be a graceful champion.

It's a double standard. If it's going to be acceptable for him to do stuff like that, then it should be acceptable for everyone to play however the hell they want to play. If I want to call crazy shifts, and line my guys up in unrealistic ways, then good for me. If I want to put RB's at WR, good for me. If I want to play a SS at LB, then good for me. If everybody's attitude is just "learn to stop it", then fuck you, I'll play however I want too.

Second this... This league is kind of a bunch of bullshit. People run up the score and do retarded shit, but then I want to sign 2 FAs to get my team at a level to where they can actually can compete and suddenly the world is ending.

I'm out of this shit.

Yea I actually was having no problems with McCown, he was doing great for me... The problem is that we have this set standards/rules that are fucked beyond all belief, and what good are standards if they aren't kept up.
