ubernes- I got a response to my message to Scotts after I hadn't heard anything about our game. He's only available really early or really late tomorrow, but he can play after 9 P.M. Eastern. When is the deadline?

Vikings - 38 Lions - 28

Great late showing by Favre tossing up heaps of yards late in the game. That KR for a TD at kick-off was probably the worst way I've ever started a game, haha. So I guess this means Matt wont be playing the CPU on the next Vikings/Packers match.
 
Someone needs to tell the Titans he's not supposed to try and run up the score in this league...goes 4 WR 1 RB shotgun formation with under a minute left in the game and then audibles to a run when he sees me in quarter formation because of it. And throws a 40 yard touchdown with under 2 min left in the game when I'm down 20.

But on the other hand...he tries to run the clock down starting in the middle of the 3rd quarter (letting the playclock go down to 1 second on each play)? Doesn't really make sense...needless to say, not a very fun game.

Chris Gamble horribly drops what would have been no doubt a pick six, Jonathan Stewart gets a KR TD called back because of a holding penalty, my punt returner just bobbles a punt that ended up being recovered by Tennessee, LaFell dropping a pass in the end zone that forced me to punt it...etc...what a dumb game.

Not trying to say anything bad about the Titans though...I think he just treats this league like any other random online game, I don't think he looks at the forums much so he probably doesn't know how the league is run in regards to stuff like running up the score. He was the same guy who was accused of nano-blitzing in the first game (I didn't see any of that against me though), so he just seems uninformed in general.

And on a side note...I had a pretty darn good Sunday in terms of fantasy football (I have 111 points right now with Cedric Benson and Mike Wallace left to play tomorrow) but of course my opponent has the game of a lifetime with 146 points...if I played ANYONE else in my 14-person league I would have destroyed them.

Isn't this not the first time someone has had a problem with the Titans this season? I hope I'm remembering correctly.

Yeah I mentioned that someone (I think the Colts) accused him of nano-blitzing in week 1 but he never did that in my game...so at least he's making an effort. I sent him a few messages on xbox live about running up the score so I hope his future opponents don't have to worry about that...the only surefire way to avoid that though is to just beat him :/ That would solve any issues...
 
I asked the Titans to step in here or at least contact me via PM so I can get some sort of explanation and figure this out.

Also, in case anyone is wondering, Jets-Chargers look to be set for sometime Tuesday.
 
Running up the score on the CPU is one thing, though we discourage that as well. Gleefully running up the score on a human opponent should be one warning and then a swift kick out of the league.

Read the last page. I believe we had a problem with running up the score early last season too, with the Chiefs that time, though that turned into a whole other thing. Obviously there's a difference between throwing in the 4th quarter with a lead to try and kill the clock and trying to run it up.

I responded, saying I'd ask you what the exact deadline was since I would not be available till the afternoon today (Pacific time, of course) and I'm supposed to be going out with friends who are Steelers fans for MNF. Alright, after sending some PMs back and forth to the Titans here is his logic:
-He says I "nano"ed him once with under a minute left so that's why he lined up in shotgun formation to pass it instead. Here's what happened: he just got the ball back after my onside kick failed with under a minute left to go. He's up by like 30 and was still lined up to run it. He let the play clock go down to 1 second (even though the clock was stopped...) so of course I have no problem getting the snap count down and I timed it to run through and tackle the RB as soon as I could. He said he lined up in shotgun formation to avoid Vince Young getting injured because I "nano'ed" the previous play. Lol, it's called "kneeling the ball"...I guess the Titans don't have that in their playbook.

And he ran a play-action pass on the possession right before that where he ended up scrambling and getting sacked for a 15 yard loss...that doesn't sound like him trying to preserve his QB.

So he's up by 30+, under 2 min to go, and he wants to prevent Vince Young from getting injured. You would think he would go 1 of 2 routes: either kneel it (preferable method and most logical), or bench Young in favor of Collins. Instead he elects to run a play-action pass, scramble out of the pocket, and get sacked. After that he again passes the ball. That's exactly how you WOULD get your QB injured.

And he sends me these 2 typical douchebag comments afterwards along the lines of "quit crying...next time i lay a beat-down on you again i'll let you call my plays for me" and "why don't you just curl up with a good book and cry yourself to sleep" or something stupid. It doesn't sound like he's learned anything....I wouldn't be surprised if he keeps running the score up in the future.

Can we please kick him...............???? :)
 
That all sounds awfully familiar.

Oh, and nano blitzing and timing the snap count are two completely different things, which should be obvious to anyone who's either played Madden or watched a game of football. :roll:
 
Wow, that's a bit ridiculous. The main reason I joined the league was to avoid douchebag cheese play found in almost every ranked match. Sounds like he's one of those guys.
 
I never had a problem with the Titans in the other league I'm in with him, but I've also never played him or as nearly as involved as I am here either, so who knows. Either way, I'm going to remove him from the league because it's not worth my time/effort to sort through this stuff every other time he plays. Besides, it's clearly the best thing for the league as a whole for me to do this and move on with things.

If you're asking me if you can set it up to play Tuesday at 9pm EST then that is fine. I don't even know exactly when I'm playing BV tomorrow yet, but I just don't want anyone starting games much later than 9 tomorrow so we can get some games in that evening too for the upcoming week.
 
If you were getting nano'd, why would you line up in shotgun, wouldn't you want a h/b to become a blocker or run a different formation? If what is said above is true, the titans owner should be given a cag 101 on how madden is played here, in comparison to ranked matches online.

And yeah, this game with the Titans is really the FIRST bad experience I've had with someone out of the 2-3 seasons I've played in this Franchise. I was really just trying to get him to understand that you don't run the score up on your opponents (I never would have suggested you kick him from the league), but after his last 2 messages to me he really came off as a cocky douchebag with a "I don't give a sh#%" mentality. I don't even play him for the rest of the season and won't ever play him again except for an unlikely Superbowl game between us...so whether or not he stays in the league doesn't personally affect me, but I'm trying to save someone else the frustration that I went through in that game (along with the messages afterwords).

I understand that all you guys are hearing is MY side of the story, but I can promise you that I did/said absolutely NOTHING to warrant his comments. I basically said exactly the same thing as what I posted earlier in regards to: "if you were trying to preserve your QB then why didn't you just kneel it?". If he wants to come in here and defend himself then by all means let him share his thoughts, but I've pretty much laid everything out 100% truthfully. If there was a way to retrieve my sent messages on Xbox Live then I would post them on here...but I don't know how to do that.

Well that's pretty much all I'm gonna say about this...I'm not one to usually complain so much about something rather trivial like a bad experience with a video game. I feel like I've just been ranting on (and being a little emo) about this one game that no one even cares about. The Titans were kind enough to inform me to quit crying so much and take my "beat-down" like a man...so I will respect his wishes from now on.

Edit: Thanks for everyone's support on the matter...I am glad this scumbag was dealt with after upsetting me (the league sweetheart)! But all joking aside...I went back and looked at his previous matches and it looked like he didn't really run the score up on anyone else (as far as I can tell from the scoreboard) so I don't know what the deal was with our game. But I am happy with your decision ubernes and I also would have no problems if you decide later on that you would want to invite him back for whatever reason...you're the boss.

Yeah, I was asking if that would be okay assuming he isn't on at another time that I'm available, which he said in his PM he would not be. He said "after 9 P.M." on Tuesday, but I'm hoping to hear back from him about a specific time.

Tough for me to say an exact time since I've been working crazy late almost every night the last two weeks. I'm going to try and get out of here by 6EST tomorrow, even if I have to come back in after. So let's tentatively say 6:30 or so?

Haha, no no not at all! I was thinking it was almost the exact same thing that happened with the Chiefs owner last season, minus the sophomoric in-thread name calling. If I'd had an issue with your play I would have told you so. I like you, we have no issue at all. :D

I'm on your side of this issue, there's no place for that in this league and the justification rings extremely hollow.

Something I wanted to raise just as an open question since no one has actually traded a pick yet (that I'm aware of). Do we want to give some thought to doing a reset after season 2? It would not only let us play with current rosters but might also give us a chance to swap around some teams..

I'm just fine with milking at least one more season out of this franchise, but I thought now would be the time to raise this before people start swapping 2012 picks..

Me and the Lions are going to try and play around 4:30-7 Pacific tomorrow. He said he is scheduled to get his xbox 2m and I might get home as early as 4:30 or as late as 6:30 Pacific.

My vote would be a big no. A lot of teams with young players (both IRL and this past year's draft picks) are just starting to finally see their team's full potential. I think it would be pretty unfair for a team like the Rams or Panthers to tell them, "I hope you enjoyed 1 year of progression from your young QBs! Time for them to go back to sucking!"

I don't see any benefit to starting over unless a large number of people dropped from the league and we wanted to do some reshuffling.
