So...after going through EVERY single one of my players and looking at their individual attributes from Season 1 to Season 2...Player Management seems to get the progressions/regressions right for the most part aside from a few anomalies. Some progressions of mine seem grossly exaggerated...their attributes went up by a little, and yet they experienced a 8-12 point progression lol. I think that's where the issues are most prominent...Player Management just seems to inflate the OVRs a bit too much.
Just for one specific example of the buggy Player Management though...we shall take a look at Julius Peppers.
Season 1: 95 OVR; 85 SPD, 85 STR, 88 AGI, 96 ACC, 86 AWR, 76 TAK, 88 POW, 86 PMW, 96 FMV, 87 PUR
Season 2: 96 OVR; 81 SPD, 84 STR, 87 AGI, 95 ACC, 84 AWR, 75 TAK, 88 POW, 84 PMW, 92 FMV, 86 PUR
So he clearly regressed according to individual attributes, and yet Player Management claims he jumped 1 point in his OVR.
Just some notes about my team:
-My rookie C potential HB Anthony Allen jumped from 60 to 71 (and it actually looks like it might be accurate)...so that was a pleasant surprise. Lynch up from 81 to 86 OVR.
-Tandon Doss, my most reliable receiver from last season (26 catches, 0 drops) went from 65 to 74 OVR which makes me pretty happy!
-Lee Evans, despite turning 31, progressed 3 points to 84 OVR.
-Torrey Smith went from 69 --> 73 OVR...woulda liked a little more progression seeing as how he's A potential.
-Pettigrew jumped from 81 to 89 OVR which was a big surprise. He was one of those that seemed to benefit from an exaggerated Player Management OVR rating though...so I'm gonna reserve judgment on him.
-Ray Lewis stayed the exact same...I'll count that one as a win!
-Probably the most exciting news for me is Jimmy Smith...who went from 76 OVR to 87 OVR. He now boasts a 98 MCV, 90 ZCV, 95 PRS rating! Those are some damn good coverage stats...he's still at like 50 AWR though lol, so it might not translate into that amazing of coverage in-game.
-The most DISAPPOINTING news for me is freaking Earl Thomas who stayed the exact same across the board...despite being 23 years old and A potential. I guess I set myself up for disappointment when I place so much faith in A potential players...but I expected big things from Thomas!
Based off this first season (and solely off my own players)...I was really surprised by how Potential played a role in progressions (or lack thereof). My biggest progressions seemingly came from B and C potential players....while my young A potential players for the most part progressed minimally or not at all. Torrey Smith and Tandon Doss were both rookies, while Smith (A potential) progressed 4 points and Doss (B potential) progressed 9 points. My C potential rookie HB, as I mentioned, jumped 11 points. I had a D potential LT jump 11 points as well lol (from 56 OVR to 67 OVR). Then there was a 53 OVR C potential LE who jumped to 65 OVR...and a 64 OVR D potential LOLB who jumped to 71 OVR. Interesting...
