Do we only have the time between after the Super Bowl and before the draft to do "Offseason Trades"? or can we just post them now and save time?
As long as neither team is in the playoffs, you can post them now if you want. We won't officially rule on them until after the Super Bowl when the final draft order is determined, but they can certainly be discussed in the meantime. Also, it's very tough for me to do much on CAG today since it's really slow.. Does anyone want to volunteer to take over shepherding the FA process? The second group of 10 (basically everyone else who didn't make the playoffs) is now eligible to pick up 1 FA.
Yo guys can't play any sooner than 11 pm or 12 pm est on a Friday night??
No, that's the only time Zurezo's available today. He's on Pacific time, so that's 8-9 for him. Our plan was to play last night when we both had time, but obviously that didn't work out.
Chiefs over Texans in a hard fought 28-17. The Texans were within 4 pretty much the whole game but were never able to take the lead.

The Texans did an excellent job stopping the run. Charles was held to 102 yards on 20 carries and 2 TD.

The Chiefs D failed to show up as Arian Foster stomped them for 160 yards on 15 carries and 1 TD. We're talking untouched runs that I completely missed on. Very impressive in that regard.

The story of the day though was the emergence of the passing game. Matt Cassel had his best game of the season going 9 of 14 for 202 yards and 2 TD. Miles Austin had 3 receptions for 93 yards and 1 TD.

Schaub was 12 of 24 for 196 yards for 1 TD and 1 INT. The touchdown was an insane fade route to Andre Johnson that Terrence Newmann completely missed on.

The Texans had a chance to take the lead early in the 4th quarter with the score 21-17, but Schaub threw a costly pick to Brandon Flowers and the Chiefs converted that into a touchdown to seal the game.

Helluva game...I thought both of us executed well vs. what we were giving to one another. I had two major gaffes on D that you scored on (Austin's bomb after he reamed my corner at the line in press and Charles on 3rd and inches, i sent eight and got burned by his speed, which I completely expected if I didn't get a stop in the backfield). That pick sucked, I hate when my guy makes his break on a route and is open, then after the ball is thrown, the defender runs the rest of the route for him and takes the ball....I'm very much looking forward to next season, I think I've gotten some of my skills back...

That is correct. I'm at work now and will be until 5pm pst. My parents are in town and I will be meeting them for dinner and should be able to play after that. Sorry about the late time for everyone

No need for you to apologize, you were ready, willing, and most importantly able to play last night. The real villain here is clearly Comcast.

I think BV said it was a go a few pages ago, only he can't update it do to a bad connection.

I don't even know how that pick was possible. I'll have to upload the highlights to youtube. Flowers goes around Johnson from the backside to step in front of him.

And yeah if you can get your passing game going like last season, the Texans will be tough to stop.

As discussed, we're going to do one more FA period before the draft. To save time, we're going to have all the non-playoff teams pick up guys during the playoffs. We'll then let the playoff teams pick in the order in which they're eliminated. For the non-playoff teams, we're going to go in two groups of 10. You can pick in any order within your group, once you post in the thread claiming a guy that's it. You MUST post in the thread. As a reminder, you must also drop someone (and tell us who it is).
Any questions?

Group 1:
1. Dolphins - Igor Olshansky (RE)
2. Browns - Flozell Adams (RT)
3. Eagles
4. Titans
5. Vikings
6. Colts
7. Chargers
8. Cowboys
9. Bengals - Mario Henderson (RT)
10. Cardinals - Ed Johnson (DT)

Group 2:
11. Jaguars
12. Rams
13. Broncos - Mark Setterstrom (LG)
14. Buccaneers
15. Raiders
16. Redskins
17. Falcons - Tom Santi (TE)
18. Bills
19. Packers
20. Lions - Everette Brown (RE)

Anyone from this group may start picking guys up now. I'll let bv/uber dictate how long this should go on, but pick someone today/tomorrow please, this can't drag out forever.

Please post your FA selection in this format:
Team Name:
Player Added: Name (Position)
Player Dropped: Name (Position)

I really blew this game. Not to take anything away from BV, but I did what I wanted to do; stop the run / run the ball. First play of the game Big Ben INT, BV turns it into 3 points. Second play of the game, 10 yard run by Mendy...Fumble, BV returns it to the 1 yard line, TD.

I fumbled another time in the red zone and missed 2 FGs (54/57)

Not happy with how things ended, but a FG kicker is going to be at the top of my list come draft day.

Holy crap. Sometimes it's far better to be lucky than good. Zurezo put an absolute hurting on me up and down the field, and the lucky horseshoe up my ass saved me.

The Steelers turned the ball over on their first 2 offensive plays, resulting in 10 easy points for the Patriots, which was basically the entirety of their offense in this game. I lost Rob Gronkowski on my 2nd offensive play, which completely put me off rhythm all night (the driving snow and period lag didn't help either). To say I generated absolutely no offense whatsoever would be an insult to teams which generate absolutely no offense.

The Steelers moved the ball decently all game and by the 4th had clawed back to tie the game. They had the ball near the end but attempted a 57 yard FG (probably not a good idea, but that's a story for another day). The Pats got the ball back around midfield and then Tom Brady completed a long pass to Deion Branch which both Zurezo and I agreed he caught about 3 feet out of bounds, but the booth did not review it and I was able to kick the FG for the 13-10 win.

I'm not ashamed to say it: I did not deserve to win this one. Zurezo had a great gameplan and executed it well, sometimes you just get lucky. Thankfully Gronk is healthy for the Chiefs.

Man, after that game I have nothing you could even take. You kicked my ass. ;)
Looks like I have with a date with the Patriots.
If I play anything like I just played against the Steelers, it's going to be less a date and more a back alley.. Well, you get the idea.

I've clearly been playing too much Skyrim and too little Madden this week. I appreciated that the game tried to ease the transition for me with the blinding snowstorm, but it didn't help.

And this game was a microcosm of why I need Rob Gronkowski. Not only did all my 2-TE sets disappear (about half my playbook), but the two times I called a play specifically for Hernandez, he literally slipped and fell (damned Florida kids). Once he actually got back up and made the catch, but the other time Brady for some reason ended up trying to throw it backwards to AP, who thankfully recovered (though it killed the drive).

I'm leaning Sunday at 8pm est. Seems to work for most and its further away from Thanksgiving. I'm not sure what the SNF game is but hopeuy it sucks as per usual and no one minds!
Panthers-Saints and Patriots-Chiefs... gentlemen, you're NFC and AFC championship games
I hope these will be wrapped this afternoon/early evening?

THIS Sunday. I'll be sending out a round of PMs to try to get a vote if Sun 8pm works for everyone. The alternative dates would be Mon 8pm or Tues 8pm. Please everyone look for that PM soon.

edit: PMs have been sent. There's only been 3 replies so far, but we're looking like Tuesday night may be best.

I hate to be the turd in the punchbowl here, but my availability today is pretty much limited to the next few hours. I'll be gone from 3-5 and then from 6:30-midnight I have my gf's birthday party.

Also, uber, I can't really respond to PMs since my internet is still screwed up, but there's no way me running the draft tomorrow night is a good idea. You're forgetting that with all the trades it is definitely a 2-man job. There's no way I could do it alone.

Anyway, I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but why are we in such a rush to get this in before Thanksgiving? Probably most of us aren't going to be available to play our Week 1 games until after the holiday anyway, so why don't we just give ourselves an actual offseason and schedule it for after the holiday? That also gives people more time to see how their rosters progressed and make offseason trades.

I agree with you on that one (2 man job) and maybe Sunday is a bit too quick of a turnaround for some, but unless there's an overwhelming reply of those who can't do Tuesday at 8pm then I don't see why not. I wouldn't mind just having a slow start to the season and having Week 1 extend through the holidays and a couple days afterwards. That will give people plenty of time to look at their roster before the draft and to examine their new draft picks post-draft during a long week 1.
