I used to use Gameflow almost all the time in last year's game, so I've been trying to get the hang of calling most of my plays. I do better when I approach things that way. I try to limit play selection to 15 seconds or so most of the time; you just made me over-think and second guess myself at times.

i was just curious... either way, it's a productive strategy and i'll probably regret sayin this but it frustrates me when i'm tryna get the ball back and i'm watching time tick away... at times, it makes me rush my playcalling and i end up doin stupid stuff.

On the topic of multiple seasons, I have no problem going at least 4 or so. If it starts to thin out I'll still stay active. I don't mind a few CPU games here and there to make scheduling easier if there isn't user players.
I send AJ Green on a hook route... throw him the ball and he starts running forward and the ball goes directly to a Packers CB.

come on, that INT was BS... i cant explain what happened. it wasnt like i clicked AJ Green and moved up, the CPU just decided "o, let me get out the way"
I've had the exact same thing happen to me several times on the exact same route. The receiver runs a perfect hook, the DB is several yards behind him, but the receiver peels back towards the LOS right as the ball is thrown and it sails right into the defender's lap. It's definitely bullshit, and I think it's a very subtle bug in the receiver AI. Based on my experience, I believe it happens when your QB moves laterally before throwing the pass. If you do that once the hook route is already completed, the receiver for some reason breaks off the route, but your QB still throws the same pass. Again, that's just a guess as to why it happens. It's definitely annoying to have your guy run a great route and get open only to see that happen. I've seen it more with Locker in the other league, who tends to move around more. It's never happened to Brady as I recall, since he's mostly stationary, which is why that's my guess.

Rams as a team sucks so bad i was hoping to do as good as i was doing in the other franchise but they just cant make plays what so ever

The old Rams owner whooped my *ss twice last season, I would give it a little more time. Try playing with them in a few ranked or offline games and see if you can get anything out of them

As far as the "bad team to begin with" group goes, the Rams can't be the worst.

Also, I think anyone hoping to do as well in this franchise as they do in the AFC of the fantasy league will be very dissapointed. I wouldn't sweat it Gp.

As far as the hook route INT's when it happens to me it always seems like the CB is behind the WR, but has the jump on him. Like that Clay Mathews pick on Eli this week. The CB's just wait and wait and then jump in front of the WR and snatch the ball. But I'm thinking of Curl Routes, is that what you guys mean?

RE: Multiple seasons

I would obviously like to avoid a mid-season end like last year. It definitely wasn't ideal, but interest just hit a wall. I'm only in 1.5 leagues (sorry, fantasy league) so I'm hoping with less time spent on Madden will mean it will be kept fresh longer. I've played very little ranked or offline games so I'm in for the long haul right now. I'm actually just camping out, waiting for Doom to pack it in until Madden 13 and maybe I can steal a Super Bowl ring :D. Just bidding my time right now!

Yeah, but that's not what happens. The receiver has position on the defender, but he runs back towards the line of scrimmage and the QB throws it to where he was, and the defender picks it. I know exactly what Deuce is describing, it's not the defender jumping the route.

I'm not leaving unless you guys do  Despite how much I complain about the game, I'm here to stay!

Chiefs Roll Chargers 62-7

Jamaal Charles 30 att 301 Yds 5 TD

More impressed with my defense though. Wow, they really came to play today.

They held Phillip Rivers in check for most of the day., Only bad news was we lost Tamba Hali (again) for 12 weeks with a broken hand. His replacement Cameron Sheffield came in during the series and intercepted a slant over the middle

Also, the 28 points in the 4th were all runs from inside his 20. He was picked off 3 times in the 4th.
Our best hope for getting in more seasons is picking up the pace by consistently finishing weeks early.
i would be down to play 3 games a week to speed up the process but my jags are also a young team so the more season we play the more they progress and the better they will become im kinda curious to know what gabbert would look like 4 or 5 seasons down the road

Jets 24 - Pats 21

I'll do a full write-up later. This is a very different game if Gronk doesn't drop a 3rd down pass that literally hit him right in his big dumb hands. That, and the number of times Santonio Holmes found himself lined up against a slow ass linebacker* was the difference here.

*I hate that both the 3-4 and 4-3 react to two receivers set with both on one side by lining up a LB against the inside receiver rather than moving over the CB. I can either call a timeout or I can try to shift someone over there manually, but there's never time. Santonio Holmes went nuts in this one, and every single catch was out of that same look. I tried switching someone to shadow him, but that always ended up with Keller left uncovered for some reason. I don't blame ubernes for exploiting that of course, it's just frustrating.

I'm sure BV will do a larger write-up, but I feel pretty good about getting the Jets back on track. Despite giving up close to 100 yards on the ground, the Jets run D showed up in the first half to set the tone a bit. The pass D is what allowed for the W though. David Harris had a pick on the Pats final drive to end the game, and Wilson killed a drive of his own earlier in the game.

Sanchez went 16 for 27 for 295 yards, 2 TDs and believe it or not 0 INTs. I ran little to no shotgun for the first time this season, using a more balanced attack. Greene had a season high 14 carries for 88 yards and a TD. Holmes had two HUGE (both in terms of the game and the distance) TDs and 141 yards. I guess someone has to step up with all these WRs out, right? Keller contributed with 71 yards and the rookie Belton had 51, mostly while Keller was out of the lineup (not sure why, probably fatigue).

I'll leave the ups and downs of the game to BV, but I'm pretty happy with the W and with how my offense played. I was still able to put together a very effective passing attack without abandoning the run.

No prob!

Fun fact, just two undefeated teams remain. The 5-0 Houston Texans and the 4-0 Kansas City Chiefs. The Texans survived a week 5 scare against the Browns winning 19-16 on a last second field goal. They also have the second longest regular season winning streak, which has now reached 6 games. The Chiefs win streak is now at 23 games.

Chiefs @ Texans Week 14

Everyone with a game left has been PMed. Expect to be advanced Wednesday evening. Check into the thread in the afternoon if you can and see when these 2 final games are scheduled and begin planning for Week 6.

Gg MA. I think u may have given up on ur run game a lil too soon.

Ikeem smith is a young ray lewis....finished the game with 5 tackles a forced fumble and a pick. Even though he fumbled the pick, he's unblockable and crazy fast and agile

Less fun fact: Those are 2 of my next 3 opponents. The 3rd? Just the Giants. :bomb:

I actually think you should give more credit to your run D. You bottled up Cobie Ross pretty effectively in the first half (though how much of that was the rain, who knows), which made me throw more than I wanted to. He ended up with a respectable day (16-91 and a TD), but every time I end up passing more than I run the ball, I lose. Especially considering he was coming off of a 300-yard effort. If I'd found myself in a few less 2nd-and-longs, the complexion of the game might have looked different. I do wish I'd gotten White and Welker a bit more involved, but it's always tough when Revis is roaming around out there.
I haven't been able to get in contact with Cru. I posted here yesterday morning and sent him a PM as well. Nothing.
wat time can u play today ill let cru kno. also if neone knows superstar i can reach mog also

Cowboys 20 - Cardinals 17

Ouch, that one hurt. Never seen Jason Witten just massacre defenders like that in open space. He must have had 6 broken tackles while scoring his two TD's.

I HATE 4TH AND INCHES.

Great game Cobra

Pats-Texans scheduled for 12:30AM tonight (or whenever Rames gets home from work).

I'm going to go ahead and call this a must-win for the Patriots if I want to stay in the playoff hunt. I can't afford a 3rd conference loss at this point in the season, especially not with my brutal schedule coming up. If I don't get hot soon, the Pats may look to sell off a couple pieces and start retooling for next year.

Is there anyone around who can hop on Madden quickly and wouldn't mind helping out with a trade? I'm in talks with someone, but neither of us will be near our 360s until tonight to check the depth chart ratings of his players.

Indeed, I'm looking forward to it. Especially seeing this new QB of yours.

I was just looking at the standings.. Is it just me, or has the league never been more competitive than it is right now? Not many easy divisions out there.

For sure, but the NFC West is the the only conference where all the teams are five hundred or better.

Yeah I noticed that last night as well. Means nobody can take a game off!

Chad Ochocinco is going home.

Trade Alert

Patriots send:
WR Chad Ochocinco - 84 OVR, 34, A Pot
RE Andre Carter - 78 OVR, 33, B Pot

Bengals send:
RE Michael Johnson - 83 OVR, 25, B Pot
TE Bo Scaife - 77 OVR, 31, B Pot

Thoughts?
Looks fine to me. Another TE ?
Maybe hernadez(or however you spell it) will be going to KC
Looks fine to me. Another TE ?
With Ocho out, Hernandez will be playing a lot more WR. Plus, the Patriots actually have a couple 3-TE formations I've been curious to play around with.

Also, this gives me some flexibility in case I want to deal Gronk or Hernandez at some point.

Other opinions on the trade?

I think this is one of those moves that's really great for both sides. With the added emphasis on the running game for the Patriots, Ocho is seeing the field a lot less and also there are other players (Price and Hernandez specifically) that I want to work in at that spot. Meanwhile, he'll be back to being a top receiving option in Cincy after the departure of AJ Green.

Johnson gives the Patriots the chance to get younger and faster on defense, which is what I've been looking for out of that RE spot specifically. He's only B Pot, so he's not likely to improve much, but I like where his attributes are right now. Cincy takes only a marginal downgrade to Andre Carter, who's still a useful player, and again pick up Ocho for their trouble.

Great I just wrote out a long reply and my phone craps out on me. Anyways no issue there. The deal on it's own is fine though I find the series of moves of dealing a young WR only to turn around and deal a young end to get another WR, this one aging, as a bit confusing.

Can someone tell me who I'm matched up with next week? I'd like to shoot out a pm now. Thanks.

I wouldn't have ever traded AJ Green for anything if I were him, but like you said that's a separate matter.

You've got the Bills next.
