...That's right, mothatruckers. :D
..as the vikings fans burn my house down!
Son of a bitch!!!!!!!
According to Superstar, nobody else even asked. :D

Can't deny I'm giving him a pretty damned good haul either.
Just playing devil's advocate, but why was it ok to postpone advancing in week 4 then? This is the biggest problem I have with the league...that advancing is inconsistent. If one week it's ok to postpone and the next week it's not, how does that not look like favoritism being shown toward certain players/teams?
I don't recall the Week 4 scenario, but I would bet it didn't involve someone who wasn't anywhere in the thread for days. I'm willing to wait, though people have to realize that if I say Mon/Tues and all but 1-2 games are played by Monday, we're going to push for Monday. And we've been pushing for Monday since early Sunday if I'm not mistaken. If people want turn the day 1/day 2 soft deadline into hard deadlines then we can do that. But what you're calling inconsistent, I see it as flexibility. We're not going to wait on members who don't communicate though.
but I didn't think he would go for it.
The lesson as always is it pays to be bold.
That's a really good deal for both sides.
I think so too. Both Woodhead and Haynesworth are very quality players, plus the two picks. Feels like an appropriate haul for a superstar.
This post seemed to indicate he was fine with 11:

Does anyone have a way of getting in touch with Zurezo? Would hate to have him need to sim after being up big, although the fact that he almost never checks in here (especially after something like this) doesn't really help him.
He PM'ed me his email, if you don't have it let me know and I'll forward the message to you.
Meh, I've been shot down enough today ;)
You and me both man. I feel like I cold-called half the league.

Recapping the three trades currently up for review:
Ravens send HB Ray Rice (92 OVR, 24 years old, A potential), LOLB Sergio Kindle (70 OVR, 23 years old, B potential), and FS Hiro Haruki Nakamura (64 OVR, 25 years old, C potential)

Seahawks send HB Marshawn Lynch (81 OVR, 25 years old, A potential) and FS Earl Thomas (82 OVR, 22 years old, A potential)
I'm fine with this.
Trade Up For Review
Seahawks send Mike Williams - 83 OVR, A POT, 27 and Aaron Curry - 82 OVR, B POT, 25
For
Bucs send Josh Freeman - 87 OVR, A POT, 23 and Zac Diles - 70 OVR, C or B POT, 26
And this

And this obviously, though I don't get a vote on my own trade.

Any objections to these?
We sim after Packers then. If Zurezo shows then he can play the CPU.
He said a couple pages back that he couldn't play till 11 P.M. at the earliest. He has a good reason, so I'm not faulting him, but considering that's my bedtime it will be very hard to get it in tonight.

EDIT: He may or may not be able to play at an earlier time tomorrow if that's even allowed by uber/bv.
Chiefs are ready for week 7! This bye week has been way too long
Ugh. I played my Week 6 game like 5 minutes after we advanced and now I'm on a bye. It feels like two bye weeks. :wall:

Who's starting that 2nd league?

That's fine, but I hope there's at least a time for tomorrow being set up at this point. Again, I don't mind waiting for games but I don't want to wait for games that aren't going to happen tomorrow either.
No problem with any of those deals. Wouldn't do the AP deal in a million years, but it's pretty fair.

This.
I'll update the OP.

LOL...which game involved someone who hasn't been anywhere near the thread for days? One game was attempted to be played today, but had connection issues. The other had a back and forth discussion but trouble finding an agreeable time today.

I can appreciate the flexibility or "soft deadlines" as you say (although that term itself is a little oxy-moronic), but without a valid reason for postponing one week while forcing an advance in another week gives the appearance that you're either favoring certain players/teams...or just pulling it randomly out of your ass. Look, I'd love to advance tonight. Since I didn't play this week, I'm itching for my next game. I just don't understand why the teams in week 4 got to bitch out on the "deadline". It either applies to everybody or it doesn't.

He's been PMing me. Trying to get it done tonight, but if it goes down to the wire and we can work out an early time for tomorrow, I'll let you know.
I may start the second league, not sure yet though. If I sell 2k12, I definitely will.
The servers blow don't they? I love all the SP stuff, but no online play hurts the game.

My only issue is that it would never happen IRL. If someone came to the Vikings front office and said they were going to trade Danny Woodhead in a deal for AP they wouldn't even be able to hear the laughter on the other end of the phone before they hung up. I do think it's a good haul, but just thinking of the Vikings trying to sell their new RB Woodhead to it's fans it's pretty funny to me. But I guess dealing for a malcontent (Albert) doesn't hurt you in Madden.

Dude. Just shut up.

Seriously, I know you said you're just playing "devil's advocate", but it just comes across like you're giving ubernes grief. You have no idea how hard he works on this league, for which he gets nothing. It's not easy wrangling 32 guys with very different schedules. We do the best we can. Just let it be.

Not everything has to be a controversy.
The servers blow don't they? I love all the SP stuff, but no online play hurts the game.
They're horrible, worse than EA servers which is quite sad. No season plus crappy servers = sell it now and buy it again during black friday.
My only issue is that it would never happen IRL.
Definitely not. But the Bucs would never trade Freeman in real life either, so it's all relative. This will definitely be the first line in Woodhead's Madden biography. Dude was having a sick year for me though (over 10YPC I believe).

given AP's body of work, I think this is a steal for BV but a lot of that had to do with knowing he's got 3 first rd picks, the law firm, and vince wilfork so he's really getting a lot of something for next to nothing

That's called accumulating assets and maximizing their value. It's basically the reason the Pats stockpile all those picks. Obviously they don't get to do anything this extreme with them, but the principle is the same.

I haven't seen or heard from Zurezo since his disconnect. I even PMed him. So yeah... he hasn't been by the thread in days. Yes, he's been in touch with his opponent, but his opponent since hasn't heard from him either. If he doesn't show up tomorrow so we wait until Wednesday? Thursday?

I don't think anyone sees how we advance as favoring anyone. We've done this the same way for 3 years running now and this is the first time this has ever been brought to my attention. It's done on a case by case basis. Simple as that. If you don't communicate with the commissioners or your opponent, then we're not going to hold up the other 31 owners. Matt and his opponent have a fair excuse, which I have no problem waiting for them. They are trying. They are communicating. The Steelers did schedule his game the first time, so that's great on him, but he's disappeared since and we have to move on if he's not going be around.

I'd be more than happy to start using hard deadlines. It would make things on my end a lot easier.

Or just this. Not sure why I'm going through the trouble explaining how things have worked here forever.

Yeah, I have no idea what it's llke to run a league. Ha...good one...

I'm just trying to make sure everybody is treated equal. When the way it was handled not even a week ago isn't the way it's being handled now, it raises red flags in my opinion. It's hard enough to compete in this league considering how good several of the players are. They don't need any extra help.

Sorry. Law school has been tough this week. I played my game this AM and was winning 28-0 then got disconnected from the EA serves.

I dont know if we advanced, but I am around the rest of tonight and all night tomorrow.

I think in the interest of advancing tonight, a CPU game would be fine here. That work for you ubernes?

Also, all three trades are now in the OP. Go ahead and make the swaps in-game.

If you do know, it makes it even more ridiculous that you're bitching about what essentially amounts to nothing. Just let it go.
I can play right now...
I'll open it up for you now. Seems like your opponent was okay with that anyways.
I can play right now...
My wife was watching stuff on the xbox, I'm working right now, go ahead and play the CPU.

You have an invite back when you're ready.

Expecting everyone to be treated equally is nothing. All right. Fine by me, boss.

Law Firm is available if anyone wants a justifiable bruiser. I also heard a rumor that he once outran Antonio Cromartie in the open field. :D He also has the highest Carry rating of any back in the game (tied with Turner), so you know he'll never fumble.
He's been PMing me. Trying to get it done tonight, but if it goes down to the wire and we can work out an early time for tomorrow, I'll let you know.
So I would imagine we'll be advancing late tonight or earlyish tomorrow. I'm already going to PM the Chargers now about scheduling my game. I would guess it would be safe to schedule for 7pm EST tomorrow and onward.
Expecting everyone to be treated equally is nothing. All right. Fine by me, boss.
Everyone is treated equally. If you can find a single person besides you who has an issue with what you're talking about, I'll be very surprised.

I'd also like to announce here that I may need a sub for the next two game weeks. My grandmother passed away and I am traveling to NY to go to the funeral and I may be gone a week or so. I am leaving on Thursday so if I can get in week 7's game in before I leave it would be nice.

Sorry about your grandmother.

I'd be willing to do it if nobody else steps up, but we should try and find someone with a more similar record. Volunteers?
