It's fine man, you don't owe me anything. But this was the exact same thing you were complaining about when Tanabeo struck another deal for Freeman when you thought you were negotiating. If you wanted to take a better deal, just say that from the outset, don't dangle it in front of someone and ask if they're willing to top it if you don't actually mean to give them the chance to do so. I don't see what you gain by doing that.
 
I'd say there's nothing close to a division of doom this year. The closest would be the NFC South, but meh. Realignment I say, some divisions may be wrapped up by the half way point with the way things are looking.

I'm not blaming you. I'm not really all that mad, I probably wouldn't have topped that package anyway. It's just kind of annoying to hear "this is the deal I have on the table (not with specific players, just generally what the package was), are you willing to top it?" and meanwhile I'm researching rosters for nothing. Just say "I got a better deal, I'm taking it."

I just scouted Freeman and while I liked some things I felt like Sanchez made better throws for me. I did like that extra speed to extend plays. I may instead look for WR help to replace those injured.

as a member of the NFC South, I'm happy to see Freeman go... but knowing i'm a lil handicapped at CB, another Mike Williams in TB doesnt sound too good to me... nevertheless, i got no problem with it

Trade looks good to me. Diles is C potential btw...just created a franchise so I could find out.

And I never got the impression that you were blaming me for anything BV, but I know what you mean...I can also see where he's coming from too though. If I'm shipping away 2 really good players from my team, I'd want to make sure I'm getting the best deal possible. Not that I spent any effort whatsoever trying to shop Ray Rice though lol. It'd be kinda lame if he went behind my back and PM'ed you with my exact trade proposal and asked if you could provide something better...but since you mentioned he didn't say what specific players were involved, I don't mind if someone wants to do that.

My deal was just for Thomas. I don't have a problem with taking the best deal (and yours was definitely better than what I currently had on the table). My problem was with asking me if I could top it and then not giving me the chance to do so. I don't see what was gained by that other than wasting my time. I spent a while doing legwork on the player he'd specifically asked about, and was doing more when I was asked if I could top the deal. No big deal though, I'm not going to carry a grudge or anything.

So mine and the seahawks trade looks good I spent like an hour looking at teams today and this is the best I could come up with and I feel like this is the best trade I have done with freeman.

Thanks for the heads up lol....i've gotten a lot of practice time playing against CJ2K and Jamaal Charles so i think I can keep Best contained... a solid hit from any of my linebackers will put him in his place

Well I'll have to wait until the trade goes through (if it does) to see what Thomas is rated at the SS position, but if everything works out...then yeah Zbikowski would be available (80 OVR, 26 years old, B potential). He's been doing really well for me so far (2 sacks, 2 interceptions, 19 tackles, 6 TFL) so I was a little hesitant to trade for Thomas...but I couldn't pass up the chance to get one of the best young safeties in the league. Of course Pollard is available as well...I just figure his speed is a big turnoff for most people.

Thanks, it was pretty close until I let you blow a run by me and I started having to lob it up and hope for the best.

Commissioners, it's okay to go for it at my opponents 35 when it's 4th and 1 right? I did this during the game and figured it was okay since it was raining and the field goal would have been a risk and the punt might not have gained anything.

Absolutely okay. The rule of thumb is if it's something you'd see in the NFL, you can do it. Coaches do that all the time.

Just gonna throw this out there, but in week 4, there were 3 games that hadn't been played, and advancing was put off until the next day. Yesterday, the title of this thread read "Advancing Mon/Tue". I get that everybody wants to move on (hell, I had a bye this week, so even I'm bored), but if you're not going to allow an extra day when teams try to play and have connection issues, why even mention it as a possibility?

I'm in no rush to advance, I think we can wait for these games, especially if they're played tonight. I think we're always flexible where we can be. The reason we pester people is so that no one gets used to the idea that we're always going to bend on the deadline. ;)

Packers-Rams can apparently be played at 11PM tonight (at least from the Rams end, I wasn't totally clear if that time worked for Matt, who'd asked for 6PM).

Steelers-Jags got disconnected with Zurezo up 28-0. I don't think the Jags are available today, and we haven't heard from Zurezo (nothing new there :lol:)
 
Attention Everyone: I will more than likely NOT be trading Von Miller, I need to shore up my Line Backing Core especially since I'm not doing good against the run. I will entertain offers, but unless it's very good I will not be trading him.

Does anyone have a way of getting in touch with Zurezo? Would hate to have him need to sim after being up big, although the fact that he almost never checks in here (especially after something like this) doesn't really help him.

Just playing devil's advocate, but why was it ok to postpone advancing in week 4 then? This is the biggest problem I have with the league...that advancing is inconsistent. If one week it's ok to postpone and the next week it's not, how does that not look like favoritism being shown toward certain players/teams?
