Because this thread moves fast and it's entirely possible your opponent will miss you posting "when do you want to play?" if they're not on CAG at the same time. It happens every single week. A PM is guaranteed to reach the person it is intended to reach and not get lost in the shuffle. That's why PMs are better.

Indeed it does. Just want to secure the first round bye so I can start resting some guys. A Jets loss here would put your Patriots in the driver's seat. Conference and division record is in your favor.
I may just sit down Charles and go for the 16-0. Haven't decided yet.
As long as you don't roll over for your buddy in Week 16. ;)

 It would pain me to do that. I'm too competitive.
I have a feeling I'm not going to be able to run at all against that defense.
Don't worry, I haven't given him any tips about how I bottled him up in our matchup. ;)

Good to know. Though I believe it has to do with the crappy right side of my line! Something that will have to be fixed.

I'd like to ask for a sub for this week against Master Awesome. To make a long story short, I'm a diabetic and I've got some medical testing and shit coming up shortly that's weighing pretty heavily on my mind. I don't think getting my shit pushed in again at Madden is going to help matters any, so hopefully you guys can understand where I'm coming from.

My record speaks for itself in this league, I would say "I'll play, I don't mind getting my shit pushed in".

But no, I'm not gonna say that.

Let me know if I can help

Falcons 17
Panthers 10

fuck fuck fuck fuck... Cam throws a pick late to seal the loss but i got a couple issues with this game... that i may comment on after i do some research. I dont know if it's a AI issue or if it's a glitch/scam but it's pretty ridiculous and it helped to turn the tide of this game. AND i lose Thomas Davis to a broken collarbone for 8 weeks... fuck!!!

PM me about it.

Halftime and game is out of reach. Fun stuff.

I just don't know how to play apparenty. Doom's run game is silly good but it's just ridiculous to know what's coming and all he has to do is run around the line for 10 yard gains. I'd honestly be better off if he played the CPU. Then I wouldn't be forced to watch this.

All I was doing was audibling into blitzes. Half the time I would use the DE and half the time I would use the LB's and get a running start. I wasn't shifting, stacking, or hot routing. And in that video it shows a DE getting the sacks where in my game it was the LB's and occasionally the CBs. Only maybe 2 or 3 times did I get through the line immediately (as in instantly), and I wrote that off as dumb luck.

Gg Doom. I think between these last two games I really have no reason to play vs you again. I just will never beat you. Simple as that.

I do find it amusing that we each fumble once and you easily recover yours. And then easily recover mine for a TD.

Sucks man...I'd hate to push your shit in with all that going on, although I doubt that'd be the case if you almost beat BV.

Whoever is gonna sub for him (I don't care a whole lot about records)...I won't be able to play tonight, but anytime after 3 p.m. EST tomorrow will be good for me.

Well that's not true. You beat me twice last year when I was Oakland.

Good game though. And yeah that's one of the few times I actually got one back. Usually fumbling on the kickoff return is what happens to me.

Chiefs over Jets 62-14. Write up to follow.

So things I learned... I cannot at all contain the edge. I can play nickle, I can play zone so I have a CB sitting there and I can bring my safety down, and Charles will get around anyone. I actually don't think I got beat by many plays, if any, up the middle. Maybe I need to spread out my D line? Even when I moved my line or LBs to one side, the correct side, he would still run around them. I don't mind being beasted by stiff arms or just sick moves in general, but it was really just a game of tag and Charles was the fastest kid on the playground. So that's an issue.

Other than that, I think I finally got into the swing of things again passing wise. Seems a bit crazy to say that with 6 picks, but when you're down by 30 in the blink of an eye, you tend to force a few. Keller and Burress had solid games. Granted, Doom could've give up 8000 yards through the air and he would still be up by 21. I still felt pretty good and I may try to change my approach with this team, especially as Sanchez advances next season and maybe I can pick up a solid rookie WR.

True. Though I don't recall those anymore. You've wiped them clean from my memory. I do think this game is very different than last year's though and I probably play a 1/3 of what I played last Madden as well. So I don't see the current Madden 12 trend changing anytime soon. It's not like I'm a few good drives away from turning things around, I literally need to throw my entire defensive gameplan out the window.

The Chiefs continued their winning ways against one of the elite teams in the AFC.

The Chiefs D forced 7 turnovers on the day in combination with 371 rushing yards.

Matt Cassel 7 0f 7 92 Yds

Jamaal Charles 25 Att 249 Yds 4 TDs

Thomas Jones 6 Att 97 Yds 1 TD

Mark Sanchez 21 of 38 344 Yds 3 TDs 6 INTs

Plaxico Burress 6 Rec 137 Yds

Dustin Keller 11 Rec 130 Yds 1 TD

With the Jets down late in the 2nd quarter, they completely abandoned the run and Sanchez began to have his way with the Chiefs D through the air.

Though stalled drives quickly turned into forced throws, and by the end of the day, Sanchez ended up with six interceptions.

The Chiefs improve to 13-0 on the year and can clinch home field advantage with a win next week over the Green Bay Packers.

Coach Todd Haley said Jamaal Charles will be active and may only play the first half.

Ricky Stanzi will also see some time.

Shouldn't there be a "can" or "could" there, or am I just an afterthought?

Sorry to break it to you, but Doom's grammar is fine there. It was an implied condition. ;)

Forgot the can. Sorry about that.

I know I'll probably lose. I had the Giants and Chiefs games marked as losses before the season even started. Just figured I'd poke ya a bit. ;)

EDIT: I'm always up for a good grammar discussion.

Doom's bounced back nicely after narrowly losing two weeks in a row. And it's not like the schedule's gotten any easier. Got to hand it to you Doom, I was just looking, you've played a tough ass schedule by any measure.
The New England Patriots 2007 record of 589 points is now in reach!
I hate to break it to you, but the Madden record of 14000 points is actually held by 13-year old pwnnoobz69boobz in his offline franchise where he plays on Rookie and trades himself all the best players.

Eagles v. Giants kicking off now. Sorry we got a bit of a late start Uber. Eagles at home, looking to reverse their losing ways!

Patriots 24 - Redskins 0

The Patriots' D bounced back from a suspect effort against the Colts last week to post their fourth defensive shutout of the year (but first since Week 6). This was a pretty one-sided affair, with the Patriots outgaining the Redskins 355 to 46.

Tom Brady was finally fantastic, going 12 of 13 for 136 yards and 2 TDs (both to Gronk, returning from injury).

The Patriots rushing attack put on a show (gaining me an achievement in the process):
AP rushed 15 times for 126 yards and a score.
Green-Ellis added 13 carries of his own for 108 yards.

Most of the damage was again to the tight ends, as Aarob Gronknandez caught 10 passes for 123 yards and 2 TDs. Welker had the only catch by a WR.

The Redskins stuck with their rushing attack most of the day but Stewart really couldn't get anything going. Garrard attempted only 6 passes despite trailing, completing 3.

gg man2008! My defense was just on fire in this one, it was tough for you to get anything going. You made a few nice run stops here and there, but AP and Law Firm wore you down in the long run, and Brady was pretty much perfect.

Patriots move into 1st place in the AFC East by virtue of the tie-breaker over the Jets. We'll see how long they can keep it. Oh, I also grabbed back the scoring defense lead. Your move, Doom and BigAT. ;)

I'm really loving the fact that I kept Green-Ellis as a change of pace back. He's great in short yardage and his near-perfect Carry rating makes me trust him absolutely to salt away games.
What's the deal on QB sneaks? Still banned or fair play now? They've been fixed
I was wondering the same thing? Espescially on 4th and inches.

I know they patched it, but can anyone say first-hand that it's no longer an auto-conversion? If so, I'd be fine with lifting the ban, though I think maybe the offseason would be a better time to do that.

A little redemption for the Cardinals last night.

After getting sh*t stomped by Cru a few weeks ago, Drew brees throwing 5 picks. The Cardinals flipped the game on the 49ers and picked off Cru's QB four times. No Picks for Breeze.

The game really went down to the wire with the Cardinals winning 14-13 with the ball late in the fourth, then Beanie Wells broke off a 70 yeard TD run (He has something like 180 Rushing yards).

Cru down by 8 got the ball back with timeouts and less than two minutes, but his QB got sacked for a FF and a TD for the Cardinals.

Cardinals 28

49ers 13

I can't remember a Madden where it wasn't an auto first down (95% of the time) on 4th and inches, so I think that should be allowed.

Otherwise, im not sure.

The fact that it's a near auto-conversion, even without the speed boost, is why I'd lean towards keeping it banned even if they "fixed" it. I'd prefer people have to earn those 4th-and-inches conversions if they want to go for them. And this is coming from someone who's got Brady, who in the real NFL is among the best in the league at it. :D

It definately makes the 4th and inches decisions a lot more complicated if your not sure that you can convert 90% of the time.

But I think that the 4th and inches QB sneak is widely used in the NFL (succesfully)

The play's success rate in Madden isn't that outrageous (you can definately get stuffed by the right Defense)
