Madden 12 Official CAG League - On official hiatus until Madden 13.

We get 16 games a season....... The games are 20:00 Madden minutes.

If N8 wants to play his offense in the way he believes is the best strategy to win... Who are you guys to tell him how to play his game?

As N8 has admitted himself, he's not a perfect Madden player. But he is allowed to do whatever he wants inside of the rules in the short period that is a Madden game.

Bseti calls it "Bush league". Obviously Fero wants no part of it.

Maybe some things Fero or Bseti do makes people want to leave the room. It is one Madden game. Suck it up and do something for 35 seconds here and there.

Cmon, if that is his strategy, fine. Let him play.

I don't want to clutter the thread with any more needless bickering, so I'm spoilering this. I just wanted to address some of the points siradam made. Anybody interested in the topic, feel free to read. Otherwise, just skip right over it.
The funniest thing about this is what a gross exaggeration it is. Until 2:15 left in the 3rd, I was snapping the ball with at least 10-15 seconds left on the play clock. I'm sorry, with 5 minute quarters and a two possession lead, I consider 2 minutes in the 3rd to be "late in the game". Rushing my plays at that point would just be moronic. Regardless of how you feel about the issue, the question remains, before that point, what's your excuse? Did my clock management force all those punts you had? Or the INT you threw? Say what you want about me, but this whole discussion comes off as nothing more than being butthurt over getting outplayed.

I've tried to improve my play through defense and ball control (ie. 1st downs, no turnovers). I'm never going to rush for 400 yards in a game or put up 62 points. If I don't play to my strengths, there's no point in playing. Nobody says anything when people put up ridiculous numbers or play to a style that is fitting for them. I'm not going to CHOOSE to play your style just because it makes you sad. If you want me to play that way, impose your style of play on me, and make me adjust.

Ultimately, what defense SHOULD be about is putting your opponent in a position that they're not comfortable with. If I can't stop you from picking up 1st downs, I don't deserve to have the ball. If I can't score any points, I don't deserve to win. Once again, there wouldn't even be any discussion about it if people didn't feel the need to rush to the thread and tattle on me. Oh, but I forgot. You're just "stating an opinion".

But if you want to make up stories about me doing it "EVERY PLAY" or tell me over and over again that I need to "seriously reconsider playing in this league", then that's your issue. I haven't done anything wrong, and I treated you with nothing but respect the entire game. If you think less of me for playing smart and keeping your self-described "potent offense" off the field, then I feel sorry for you. You say you're not upset about it, but then immediately go on to say that you won't play me again because of it. What does that look like to you?

i dunno this will be our fourth season everyones been fighting like lil girls over everything its gonna start to die off if we cant get shit together... i figure i think my team is great now ive done a good job of reconstructing them to my liking... im goin for a superbowl repeat if i dont get it the mayb its time for some fun... start trading off pieces to the lower teams or mayb even just switching teams with one of the lower guys to see if they do better my team i dunno just experiment... weve gottin much farther then last year we still have 32 guys lets enjoy this league not tear it apart

At some point, even a mental midget such as yourself should realize, "Hmm, it's really no fun and not in the spirit of good sportsmanship for me to run the same play every time".

I hear ya, straight cheesin man....nothing more fun than playing 5 min. qtrs. with a fucking cheeseball on the other end of the sticks, i think we def. need to reconsider the qtr. length for next year, 6-7 minute quarters are longer, but if you throw one pick; it can be the fate of the game, allocating more time per quarter would severely cut that threat down, but on the other hand beating's can be amplified as well.

It's ridiculous that I'm having to defend my right to play SMART when I've earned a lead. If you don't like it, don't let yourself get into that situation. The fact that this type of complaining happens on a regular basis in this league is a joke. You guys are supposed to be "the example" remember? I did nothing that gave me an unfair advantage or was unsportsmanlike. I played smart. I'm sick of being chastized for that. If you want to pout and go into a prevent defense with 3:00 left in the 4th quarter, that's on you, man. Personally, I found that to be more disrespectful than anything. I've never had problems with Nate. He has always been a stand up guy when talking\playing games with him. I also don't think we need to keep bringing this topic up. It's just filling the thread with BS at this point...
 
Agreed this isn't madden nation I know a loss sucks but it really shoudn't matter in the end this is for fun.

the fact of the matter is youe complaining becuase you were tired of seeing the same plays over and over again. well who's fault is that because i can tell you that if anyone in this league plays were working as well as mine they would keep going to them point blank period. its not my job to run different plays. its your responsibility as a defense to make plays and stop. if you could have stopped my plays i would have changed them. but the plays i was running was getting me 15 yards a pop.

so at the end of the day you as a player like so many other people in the league need to comes to grips with the fact that its not the other persons fault there running the same plays over and over, its your fault because you cant stop them, and its your fault that i let them get up on me and run the clock down. or your my fault i let them convert the third down. at the end of the day people need to to come to realize that they lost the game, and take there lose in stride and get the fuck over that shit. instead of throwing a tantrum in the thread.

I think this is the first time I've ever said this, but I completely agree with damailman, lol. It's WITHOUT QUESTION cheesy to run the same play over and over again. But it's also his right to be cheesy. It basically comes back to "if it aint broke...don't fix it". The onus always falls on the defensive team to stop it. Are there plays in Madden that are cheesy and lame? There sure are. But knowing your defensive playbook backwards and forwards and knowing how to use your blitz packages will solve most of those problems.

We had this discussion in the JV League. Is it in his best interest to be more than a one trick pony? Of course it is. When he runs into a team that can shut down that one play, he better have something else. But the defense still has to shut down that play first. pitfall, if you want to talk about "the play", I'd be happy to offer advice on how to stop it. That would be a hell of a lot more productive than all the "huh huh...don't let him do it" posts, or the constant bitching that goes on in here.
 
i agree in the nfl they arnt gonna shy away from whats working.... its more frustrating that its workin and u cant stop it then the fact its the same play... gotta try to fix your defense or posistion them better...
