Madden 12 Official CAG League - On official hiatus until Madden 13.

Titans beat the bengals 34-17 in the rain in nashville...it was 34-3, but hotitstln has no quit in him. I just wanna applaud itstln for his sportsmanship, he would not give in and I salute him for that. Gg mayne
Thanks, I am not a fan of programming, and would rather do something I enjoy. Seems like it would be easier to find a job programming though. I probably should have put more effort into it before I graduated.
What kind of jobs are you applying for? I'd say apply for a helpdesk position then work your way up.

DVO and I played a Pats-Raiders and Jags-Eagles double feature last night. I won both games, but they were both very tight and competitive.

First, the Patriots won 24-10. The Raiders were able to completely shut down the Pats running game, forcing them to the air. This was highlighted by Evan Smith coming into the game with 6 seconds left in the half and finding Demaryius Thomas on a beautiful bomb to the endzone to make the score 17-10 at the time. Smith is inching closer to challenging McCoy for the job.

The Eagles and Jags then engaged in a see-saw battle which say the Jags take a 17-14 halftime lead before the Eagles ripped off 17 unanswered in the 3rd, seemingly pulling away. But the Jags rallied with two TDs in the 4th to force overtime. The Eagles received but were forced to punt on 4th-and-1 from midfield. Gabbert then threw a pick (his 5th of the game) and McCoy took the next play 26 yards for the winning score.

gg(s) DVO!

My last time I booted my old cpu it did it in 2 seconds right out the window, so mines faster unless your talking about a differnt type of boot.

Was it in "sleep" mode? Or was it completely shutdown? Doubt that it booted up in 2 seconds from complete shutdown.

A) Do you want a cookie?
B) From cold startup to logged in and ready to work you're saying two seconds....no way.

In other news...I've had a stroke of MA's luck. Something shorted out and I have no NIC...it shows up in the BIOS (at least I can enable/disable it) but that is it, nothing in device manager. fuck me, going to have to go buy a NIC that might fit on this mATX board. Diablo isn't worth all of this shit

Definitely impossible, unless it was in sleep bios takes about 5 seconds.

Giants vs. Colts going down in an hour.

The OS itself takes more than 2 seconds to start up. Someone is trolling ;)

Edit: I picked up Tera yesterday on sale. It's odd playing a mmo with a controller.. but it works!

In your estimation, would it successfully port to consoles? I'm curious whether or not that's something Sony and Microsoft are trying.

It could easily. The way they do the controls is pretty clever. I hope they do port it sometime

Another week, another loss, turnovers and penalties were my downfall. I got screwed out of like a 80 yd touchdown run by AP for holding, would have put me up by 10 I think, 17-7. Instead, it gets called back and I throw a pick. I lose 24-10...

Kaster and me had a game scheduled for 7:30 eastern, he's not here as of 7:43. Widdow is around to sub, but hopefully Kaster turns up soon. When are we looking to advance tonight?

Mog just PM'ed me and said that he misplaced his Madden disc while moving and might have to drop from the league. We were supposed to play like 10 minutes ago. I have extremely limited time to get this game in tonight, and now I need a sub. I need to get this game started in the next 15 minutes. Anybody available? I guess playing the CPU would be an option too. Just need to know what I should do here.

EDIT - All right, I gotta play the CPU. If this is the wrong call, just kick me out of the league. Cause if I took a simmed loss for a game I got stood up for, I'd probably drop anyway.

Sorry, I didn't get your PM until just now. I probably would have said we could push the deadline back to tomorrow given the circumstances, but the CPU game is fine.

Someone contact sprice for me i need to run out the house and want to make sure i have time before game or i want to play now before i have to leave for like 25 mins

Ok well we planne on 10 but he said if i could play either we could but whatever its straight but i gotta run to mhead real quick so ill be back in 25 or so

bucs beat the steelers 38-21. it was a close game until Ben threw 2 pick 6's. vince young was the second of the top rushers for the bucs. 7 attempts for 74 yards.

my question is can you drop back and run with the QB constantly like this?

A, and by booted out the window i really meant threw it out the window

And as for me running with vince young you can do it when you where dropping 8 back to cover and only sending 3 10 of 10 times im going to take off

we went thru this a while ago prob in the 1st season...as long as its the same qb and hes not switching them he can run as much as he wants

sounds good.switching QBs to run i may need to look back at the quarters.other than that c'mon i have the middle linebacker in QB spy. taking advantage or not?

If they made this rule because of you dont you think it's garbage. Next time I'll be ready. Don't freeze the box next time either.

While I don't think questionable tactics are outside of Tanabeo's repertoire, a scrambling QB is definitely not one. If you were dropping 8 men into coverage (let's even say 7 since you said you had the MLB spying)...unless the MLB is damned fast and you're usering him yourself, you're going to have trouble stopping a QB with happy feet. If you had 3 down linemen, they're going to get tied up in blocking...so that MLB is your only shot of stopping the QB before he makes a big gain. Even if you were manually telling your DE's to QB Spy, that's STILL going to be tough to stop if he wants to run up the middle, where your DT is getting double or triple teamed.

I don't know that the league has ever had a concrete ruling on it, but to me, the only thing questionable about people who want to run with their QB's are the types of plays they do it from. I've seen a few people who plan their QB runs around plays where they just send their receivers on streak routes, pulling the secondary downfield 20 yards before they take off. To me, that becomes somewhat cheap. But that's my opinion. As I said, I don't know where the league officially stands on that.

One thing I have to ask though, if you're not comfortable with the various nuances of "What Works in Madden", why didn't you join the JV League (other Madden league on CAG)? I'm not trying to downplay your skill or anything. But that league is a great place for people to learn more about the game and to share tips with each other.

The rule is not to hot swap a QB in on a different play he has to start the drive if not i have to call a timeout and tell you after my first drive i saw that you anytime I called 3 or more wide you dropped almost everyone so from then on out i just played young and you know I was getting beat so bad that first game 0-6 at the start of the 3rd I have this custom made xbox that I just flip a switch and it freezes both our xboxs that was not the game that did it, it was me with my sweet this game is out of hand so lets flip the switch

i played the bucs week 1 and had no problam with his playing style at all... nor do i think its trashy to run with the qb 50 times a game if its working.... if hes running up the middle and u have 2 guys rushing with a spy i would have done the same thing.... diff players have diff playstyles just like dif nfl teams... it makes it fun and annoying at the same time to figure out how to stop a play that works.....

In my opinion - if a QB has fast speed, why not take advantage of that? That's like telling someone who uses a QB who has a great deep ball pass to throw short passes instead.
Did we advance yet?
Fero's got the commish reins. He forgot to do it before work this morning, so we'll probably advance early this evening. We'll adjust the deadline to compensate.
