With only 2 wins I clearly am just trying to improve for next season, but I feel like I have a better grasp at how to play now. I changed up my scheme and moved some players around. I also went "basic" on defense and it has helped A LOT.

NFC South is the powerhouse division this season!! Although DVO is slacking a bit...C'MON MAN!

Speaking of the NFC South, Panthers/Saints scheduled for 6:00 pm EST tonight.

Cards win 27-14 over Patriots. Too tired after traveling to do a writeup. Defense forced 6 turnovers which led to the win.
the raiders move to 0-12 :whee:
At 0-11, I am apparently so bad that I am ranked lower than you in the standings, despite having lost one less game.

Panthers put on a pretty dominant performance over the hungover (literally) Saints - 66-9. The Saints scored on a KR TD...I've been giving up way too many of those in this league...and a safety.

Forgive my lazy statistical write-up...I turned off my Xbox already so I'm posting stats off memory lol:
-Cam 158.3 QB rating - 8/9 210 yards or something and 2 or 3 TDs; he started off extremely hot, but getting off to a huge lead early allowed him to take it easy in the second half, only attempting one pass.
-Panthers' D with 7 interceptions from 6 different players (Beason with 2)
-De'Aarius Bumpers (my former #1 WR, now #2) made his triumphant return against the very team that injured him 7 weeks ago; with 4 catches 84 yards and a TD
-Stevie Johnson continues his consistent production with 3 catches for 102 yards and 1 or 2 TDs. It's a good thing he has been so dominant for me, because the other player I got from the Gamble trade (Christopher Owens) has been pretty bad to where I had to bench him this week as the nickel back. He had 0 interceptions/0 pass deflections in 5 or 6 games as the nickel. If you count practices (I play every one), he had 1 interception total.
-Jonathan Stewart with his best game of the season - 27ish carries for 180ish yards and 3ish TDs
-Pretty good performance from the d-line: Greg Hardy, Charles Johnson, and Antwan Applewhite with 1 sack a piece. My 2 DTs each (Klug and Poe) each blew past the line for a TFL on two separate awesome plays. Klug's was on the last play of the game where I didn't even blitz a single extra defender (although it was a 5-2 D, so 5 d-linemen), and yet he blew into the backfield and actually tackled the QB before he could hand the ball off.

That was probably my best win of the entire franchise...not because it was won by a substantial margin, but because of the circumstances in which it was won: it was extremely balanced (about 200 yards passing, 200 yards rushing); against a strong divisional rival; 0 interceptions thrown/a perfect QB rating; 0 offensive points given up; 6 different players on D with an interception/3 different d-linemen with a sack (everyone stepping up); o-line with 0 sacks allowed and about 6 or 7 pancakes between the 5 of them...it's like my whole damn team was in synch!! That's what it's all about baby!!! CAROLINA PANTHERS SUPERBOWL 2015!

Thanks for your time.

So we can we run 4 WRs and QB sneak? I thought that was against the rules, but Fero who is also Commish did it all second half when he was losing so it must be allowed right? I just want to make sure because I have a running QB to so I will tweak my gameplan. Anyway

Dolphins beat the Chargers

Tannehill 8 completions for 188 yards 1 td 2 int 220 yards rushing on 12 attempts.

Good game.

I didn't realize elections for the Passive Aggressive Post Hall of Fame were already upon us.

First This:

Dolphins Offense: 158 Passing Yards,1 TD/ 294 Rushing Yards, 3 TD
Chargers Offense: 259 Passing Yards, 2 TD / 15 Rushing Yards

Dolphins Defense: 5 Interceptions,5 Sacks
Chargers Defense: 2 Interceptions, 2 Sacks,1 TD

MA expect to play the CPU for our game in going to be in texas getting surgery done and im sure even if i make it back Wednesday i wont be down to play so i will try and put them on auto pilot for u tonight. im hoping to be able to function enough by friday to be able to play again but who knows with the pills

Dang that sucks man...I guess I'll use this opportunity to try out some back-ups. Is this a sure thing? Because I could probably wait til Wednesday night to see if you change your mind, but if you're 100% sure you're not going to want to play, then I'm always eager to get my games in ASAP so I'll probably play the CPU tomorrow night in that case.

You're right. No need to be passive aggressive or to get mad at all. I loved the idea of a league with rules and it was cool to make my own team, but it's pointless to play in a league with rules that force me to play "fairly" yet everyone else can bend this rules to help them when they are losing. So instead of getting pissed after every game I play I'm going to be retiring. I set up the next Chargers GM pretty well with all of my obnoxious trades. Since I'm not a dick I won't cut all my players or do anything to negatively affect the league. I'm just going to play online ranked matches where at least cheesey players will admit to playing cheesey.

Oh and by the way it was 13 rushing attempts for Tannehill and 214 yards rushing.

there a chance i will be back wednesday not sure how good of a chance if u want to wait u can but im not sure how functinal i will be if i am back by then its up to if u want i can try and keep u updated on where or not i return and how i feel

I'm going to address two issues here:

#1 What Tannehill did against you was not illegal. I run the Panthers playbook(i've said this before in the thread), and this playbook specifically has QB designed runs built in.

So we can we run 4 WRs and QB sneak?

The Play That was sucessfull against you (twice) for 175 Yards is a Formation with 3 TE, and a FB on the line. There's not a single WR on the field. This formation (and many others in this playbook) have DESIGNED qb runs built into it.

Designed QB Runs are completely legal, and are quite easy to shut down. I've been shut down repeatedly over the last 3 years.

Sorry you think otherwise.

#2. What you did at the end of the game is absolutely unacceptable. I've talked it over with bvharris, and you're deserving of a strike for it. There are 7 seconds left in the game, and you call 3 timeouts, and pause the game twice to delay the end of the game? What the hell league do you think you're playing in here?

I just don't know what was going on in your mind when you decided to take this course of action.

I said you're deserving of a strike, but honestly because i'm feeling nice, you're not going to get one. HOWEVER, consider yourself on thin ice, you pull shit like this again, and we won't hesitate to lay the law down next time.

GG rock.

Sounds absolutely fantastic to me. Especially after I heard about your little bitch move to end the game. Sore loser and a half right here.

Seems like all you've done since you joined this league is bitch and complain and act butthurt because you weren't dominating right away. Sorry you weren't immediately winning every Super Bowl, dude. Some of us took years to even get to the point where we could win consistently.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Chargers are open.
For anyone still curious, designed QB runs are and always have been allowed. It's right there in the "rules".
I should know this so I am sorry for asking but I want to make sure I am not breaking a rule:

Sometimes when a play breaks down or all my receivers are covered and I see a running lane and I take off with Romo. Is this allowed? I just don't want to keep doing it if it's against the rules.

Yes. Scrambling when a play breaks down is definitely allowed. The playstyle which the rule is meant to curb is the old "call 4/5 wide, send everyone deep, wait three seconds and go" strategy (The Madden 2004 Michael Vick Offense, if you will).

Here is the text of the rule:

2d. Running with the QB
Scrambling is allowed. However, you need to do it in a way which is realistic and consistent with how real NFL players do it. Constantly calling 5-wide formations and then scrambling up the middle after the coverage drops is cheese, not strategy. Scrambling should generally either be from designed QB run plays or occur after a play breaks down.

There are definitely plenty of designed QB runs in certain playbooks (especially from teams with running QBs). I've seen fero's QB runs, they're all designed.

I'll just use my own discretion. If it seems like we might advance early, I might go ahead and play before Wednesday night. Or if something comes up and I won't be able to play Wednesday night (which shouldn't happen, but who knows).

i'm going to work now but just wanted to make sure Man didn't get a sub before i play the cpu after advance? i know some one else asked but i didn't see the answer must of missed it.

Those pesky Phins!

So with 4 weeks left. I have the Pats, the Fosters, the Dolphins and the Niners. Not one easy game on there. Dolphins have the Bills, Pats, Jets, and Jags. No cake walk either.

Beating the Dolphins in the second to last week will be a must for me. Other than that, try to go 3-1.

If I were to somehow win out, I could potentially grab a bye, since the Texans-Bengals still play one another. Not counting on that though, still got a very tough closing schedule. I'll be happy if I can just fend off the Chiefs for the division.

I don't see you going 1-3 and me 4-0. Of course I would love for that to happen! I'll be lucky to get into the wild card round. Slow start really kicked my ass.

Sorry guys, but I think I'm going to have to drop out of the league. I've signed on for 8-10 hours a week of OT at my office to help another department, and I can already see it making scheduling 3 games a week difficult. I'd rather pass the pigskin on to one of the guys on the waiting list. Thanks for having me!

And if the Bengals were to win this week and I win out (unlikely), I'd get a bye, assuming the Texans-Bengals matchup doesn't end in a tie.

My final 5 games are all against people on the playoff hunt list, so I'm not counting on anything.

Thanks for playing!

That gives us two open teams. I assume at this point Deuce is still waiting for the Texans, so I PMed the other guy on the waiting list to see if he wants one of these teams.

I can only hope you come out the same.

It's definitely possible. Cru & Doom are tough, and I'm not sure if OG has shaken out of his slump but I know he was talking about refocusing himself. And obviously I lost to you earlier in the year. If we both go 0-2 these next two games, our game will be huge.

Not if the rest of us win our games!
