well still no word back from Cru on if he can play at 9 eastern but i'm fine with a sim or he can play the cpu my wife is wanting to play her game anyways and im out of any chance of making the playoffs anyways not that i ever had a chance anyways lol

There is a point to my question...and since I didn't know the answer I wasn't going to bring up my next point...not that it had any impact on our game at all but the whole game the dolfins had reggie bush as the second wr in the depth chart and still does now

Also, Zero catches during our game...

More to the point....he only has 8 catches for 222 yards.., whereas Boudreaux's 31 catches (leads your team in receptions.....) for 400 yards are mostly from HB screens, which are LARGELY frowned upon in this league because of the cheese factor. The #1 reason i know these are HB screens is because he has 506 YARDS AFTER CATCH.....yet only 400 yards total receiving yards..... That must mean he's running out of the backfield....

Moving back to more important things...

I have 4 other plays where yes he comes out of the back field
I will have my dazzle recorder set up before my next game hopefully so everyone can watch all my games

If you have an issue with the way someone else is doing something, why don't you try addressing it directly rather than trying to set up elaborate multi-part trap?

I tired that before and I was told last time when I thought something happened that I should ask the forum if I didn't know for sure. ..so I asked if I could do it and instead of giving an answer chetty choose to attack me and my play style and then I was finally told that you can't have a rb at wr and then its ok because bush is his best reciever I still don't understand either way...I never planned to put my HB at reciever unless is was clear you could. ..I would spend my 100k in xp and make his catching better
Regardless I don't care either way. ..I thought I saw a problem. .I didn't know the answer, I asked two other guys in the league, they didn't know so I asked the forum...end of story for that

It's the sly little backhanded "hehe, can I use my HB at #2 WR?" trying to trap fero and get him in trouble that I (and I'm sure others) found so obnoxious. It's second grade recess bullshit at its finest.
 
I don't agree with his approach, but the problem he brung up still hasn't gotten an answer from the leaders of this league. I thought I was on solid ground when I told tiger that the answer would be no but neither of you have confirmed that.

So, is it allowed or not?
 
To be honest, I'm not 100% sure where we left it last time. The last time we discussed this, the only substitution which I know for sure we deemed completely illegal was WR at TE (since that presents the most obvious mismatch advantages). I actually had no idea fero was using Reggie Bush as a WR. The main problem for me there isn't that HBs would be better than WRs there (they aren't) but rather that it would cause the game to give your opponent incorrect info on your formation, which is definitely an advantage. Due to that, my inclination is to say that it should not be done.

I'll try and look back through the thread and see if I can find the previous discussion on this, but if anyone remembers when it was (a month or two back I believe) feel free to re-post it.
 
Bv's making a post about this in a moment, but Moving forward, Reggie Bush will no longer play receiver for me. Dude may even get benched. I don't even like him.

The one thing i would like to point out. When Bush plays WR (He has for 3 seasons) it's a permanent position change. I Do NOT manually swap him back and forth between WR and HB. That is pure abuse. IF I catch anyone doing that, it's going to be an immediate strike.
 
I was the one who initially asked for a clear-cut ruling on these "position swaps", HB at WR being one of them, and the ruling was that it's legal. You're right BV, we only outlawed putting a WR at TE.
 
Either way, it's pointless to get into a huge wave of rules modification when we only have 2 weeks left in this franchise. It's something we'll keep in mind though and be sure to much more clearly delineate the rules for it for next year's game.

That was my recollection as well, thanks for the confirmation.

Like I said, we'll be sure to much more explicitly define what's illegal in these cases and what's not for next year.

It would be nice if Madden actually allowed you to change an offensive player's position (which they do for defensive ends and o-linemen to a limited extent). That way it would give your opponent the correct info on your personnel grouping, and this wouldn't be a problem.

For what it's worth, we outlawed any player playing outside of their given position on offense because of the reason you mentioned...it gives people incorrect info in the game. Despite any honest or legitimate reasons for doing it, it creates almost an unintentional exploit. Whether fero was aware of it or not, his opponents were potentially seeing 2 RB 2 WR 1 TE sets when he was actually in single back. It's stupid...but it's EA...and it's misleading.

Like you said though, the game should just let you change players to whatever position you think their skills would suit them in. I'm sure EA would claim they don't do that as a means of preventing exploits though, lol...as though the game is free of them in its current state. It would be interesting to see people change some of the college QBs back from WR though to see what they could do (Brad Smith, Armanti Edwards, etc)...or some CBs to WR for that matter. Also, not sure if you were only talking in terms of offense, but you can edit defensive players positions too (LOLB to ROLB, LE to RE, etc).
