so how come I can't get my play calling to come up right in CC? every setting is set to conventional yet during practice and games it's gameflow

practice I can change the setting during but games I have to hit X every time to switch to standard play calling

there back on topic

I'll have to check to see if there's even a way to change the league-wide setting, but I don't think there is. I don't remember being asked on start-up.

Last year we were given the option to choose, and we left it on Gameflow because some people did actually use it.

Can we Please Get back to Football? We're all here to have Fun. There's no need for name calling, shit slinging, or dick-measuring. At the end of the day, It's still just Pixels on a Screen.

If we can't measure dicks than I am out!
If we can't measure dicks than I am out!
I think measuring each other's is ok. But measuring your own is just sad and embarrassing.

But she said it felt bigger!
Got to admit I'm a little surprised we haven't seen any trades yet. Figured there'd be at least some preseason activity.
Might be something in the works ;)

I've gotten one PM about potential trades, but I'm not moving anyone til I can play a couple preseason games first. No one is talking about this epic QB controversy in New Jersey. Tebow? Sanchez? Sanchez? Tebow? WHO WILL WIN?

Unfortunately the NY tabloids don't afford our Madden league the extensive coverage many of us feel it deserves. ;)

Well Madden needs to add a NY Post twitter account to next year's online franchise then!

We'll consider all information relevant to the players and teams in the deal. I know that sounds vague, but what I mean is that there are a lot more factors involved this year. Not only the differences in OVR between schemes, but also contract length, total salary, and cap hit. If a guy is a better fit for this new team we will definitely consider that as well, so all that information will inform the evaluation.

Bottom line, trades will be much less about just making sure the OVR numbers roughly match up than they were last year. That doesn't mean it won't be a factor, just that it will be one of many rather than most of the story.

Hope that answers your question.
if my trade is negotiated and put up i guess that will answer it lol
Right. There will definitely be a feeling out period with the first few trades while we figure out what's important to evaluate.

The difference in OVR has nothing to do with what coach you chose. It's all about your "schemes". If your HB scheme is "power backs", then Marshawn Lynch is gonna be like a 96 OVR and Chris Johnson would be something along the lines of a 60 OVR. There is a specific "scheme" tied to EVERY position. As a member of the highly esteemed "Trade Committee"...I'm not gonna pay any attention to OVR just as I never have. I'm gonna delve into their individual attributes which will be the same regardless of what scheme you choose.

But everyone's scheme defaulted to west coast
Not sure when we plan on advancing tonight? But me and Widdow should start our pre-season game by 7:45 EST
The deadline is the same time as last night, 8PM EST. The deadline for the week is always in the thread title.

I pm'd wv for his cell to play. I just got home from work, if ÿöû need to boot me to get the game in I'm ok with that. I don't want to hold anything up. BV can ÿöû update OP as the best way to reach me is PM and then I like a cell number to set a time to play, usually after my son goes to sleep.

Sure, can you post your info in the format everyone else's is in the OP?
BV I didn't forget about you trade wise either. I have a couple offers, just trying to see what the best is.
Alright, just let me know. As always I'm willing to negotiate, still definitely interested. :D

I can't play til after 8 as I am hold with my 1 yr old alone right now.... So what happens??? :whistle2:(

Cag: Appleinthetree | Gamer tag: Cobra03ash | EST | Please PM me to set time and date to play a game. If you have text messaging on your cell, pm me your cell number too so I can let you know exactly when I will be signing on. No point in having someone wait while I put my son to sleep. I work M-Fri. 8:30-5:30 sometimes later but am flexible in the evening. Weekends I'm usually close to home and i am flexible.

We're going to wait about an hour to let LV and OG as well as uber play their games, so if anyone wants to sneak theirs in quickly go for it.

Well, at least I'm finding ways to be somewhat effective with the Browns.

-I think I've been hit with that stupid kicker punting like 3 times already. Thank god it's just preseason.
-Also think I had about 6 dropped catches with my broke WRs

judging by our game yesterday, id say sanchez....you carved me up on like an 80 somethin yard drive with sanchez, got inside the 10, but then the quarter ended, and tebow came in....pick

Yeah, I've done pretty well with Sanchez in there and then Tebow typically messes everything up.
lol so i can get cj for a 7t rd pick?
Lol I said I'm not gonna pay ANY attention to a player's OVR...not that I'm ONLY gonna pay attention to players' OVRs. I've always voiced in the past how stupid I think it is when people make trades based on OVRs, and that's just even more the case in this Madden now with this new scheme system.

In other words....what Tanabeo said (assuming he was being sarcastic lol)

And Uber, if you see this...would you be able to play at 11 EST tonight? I'm getting dinner now but I can eat and play if it's gonna be a big deal.

P.S. Before the PM Police go after me about scheduling in the thread...I don't think PMs work on my phone! Unless Uber is just an uber dirtbag who didn't respond to mine earlier today!!!!!!!!!!!

Trade up for review

OAK send WR Heyward-bey 83 ovr 2 years left on his contract making 6.64M in 2012 and 7.74M in 2013

DET send TE Scheffler 77 ovr 2 years left on contract making 1.5M each year

Broncos 24 - 49ers 19

The Broncos continued their solid postseason, showing they can win the close ones as well as the blowouts. The Broncos never trailed in this one, but they were also never comfortable. Peyton continued to look great in his 1st quarter action (though he finally did have 2 incompletions after back-to-back perfect performances), while Osweiler looked strong at times but also continued to be mistake prone. Didn't get much out of the running game, which I expected given Cru's usual stout run D. Moreno did enough in the second half to ice the game though. My D played decently, getting a few turnovers and holding the Niners to some field goals which helped a lot.

GG Cru! Definitely good to pick up a win against one of the elite guys in the league, helps my confidence going into the regular season. :D

Yay, a trade! Let the discussion begin!

I think it's a good trade. Oakland clears up some major cap space here, since Heyward-Bey has a pretty sizeable contract and get back a decent TE, whereas the Lions get a big weapon for their receiving corps.

For those curious, the Lions currently have $9.48M in cap space, and would have $4.34M before roster cuts if processed.

For the Raiders, it's currently 11.40M, and would move to $16.54M. Do I smell a bigger acquisition coming? ;)
I can't even punt well! And I've practiced that most this preseason!
This might be a silly question, but you made sure to sub your punter back in after the 1st, right? ;)

I look forward to it. :D

I actually really like this Broncos team the more I play with them. They're nowhere near as loaded as the Pats were obviously, but Manning is a very solid QB and they've got some good young receivers in Thomas and Decker who could develop a bit. The front 7 is also really good, though the secondary will take some work beyond Champ.
