Madden 13 Official CAG League - On Hiatus. See you in August for Madden 25!

OG has gotten back to me, hopefully he gets in touch relatively soon. And to be honest I don't know how well the two adays are going to work for me. Some people are hard to get a hold of, and I'm not planning on going out of my way to schedule games or squeeze a game in.

oh yeah I'm definitely down for staying, unfortunately I think at this point this team may require more drafts than this league will last. I was saying more that if there are other people who are waiting for a team I'd understand if you'd like it if there was more parity in the league. Just figured I'd throw it out there. Obviously if I decided to move on from this league I'd try to give you a few games notice so you could replace. One thing I was mulling over, are there a lot of people who stick around from year to year in this league? If so maybe you could stipulate that if someone is going to leave that they give a 2 week notice (would make it so there are less cpu games and be a little more thorough in a search for a quality replacement) maybe some sort of penalty for someone who would try to rejoin for the following madden (maybe cant pick a team from start or gets bumped down the waiting list from someone who didn't jump ship). Just something i was thinking about, honestly which was prompted more with the gentlemans league more than this one anyways.

We already essentially do this. Assuming we have more than 32 people interested when Madden 14 starts (which we did this year), everyone who stayed in the league for its entire run this year gets an automatic spot. So there is definitely an incentive for people to stick around. You can see how the process works in this post. It worked well this year, so we will likely be doing it again next.

Yeah, and we'll probably be doing something similar in the GL next year...depending on what type of returning numbers we have. There definitely will be some type of hierarchy though based around number of completed seasons. Interest is always the highest when the game just comes out...so it's conceivable that we could even have more than 32 people wanting to join.

I feel the same way. I can count on one hand how many times someone has contacted me about scheduling a game. Granted I usually try to contact first because it helps us advance faster, but I'm not going out of my way to leave work or skip dinner with my family to play Madden.

If we want to try 2 day advances that is cool with me but I'm sticking to what the OP says for my availability.

I assume you're not including me in this. Otherwise I'm probably the whole hand. ;)

i always send a message the day ahead cause im a loser like that and can't wait to play all the time :)...and now my stupid bye is coming up after we advance saturday ugh lol
Problem: Vikings guy stated his availability for Sunday and Monday only, but the deadline is tomorrow. What do I do?
He said after 5 pm pacific time Tues - Sat and all day sunday and monday. So you have tonight and tomorrow night.

I can play 2nite?

Can you play tomorrow afternoon? I am not sure when I will be home tonight. I think you said you're on Pacific time, and so am I. I could play you tomorrow at noon Pacific. If that doesn't work, I'll be available for the next several hours after that; just have to be done by 5.

If you can't play at all during that time frame I'll do my best to work something out.

It sickens me how much I had to overpay Willis McGahee to get him to re-sign, especially considering the crappy year he's having. Dude is 32 and literally refused to sign for anything less than 5 years. Should've just let him walk, but I've spent so much time building up his 99 carry that I can't make myself let him go. I wonder if the fact that he's 2nd on the depth chart enters into the likelihood that he'll accept, I guess it's possible if he wants to be "the guy."

Oh well, I managed to get him on a bonus-free deal so at least I can cut him if he regresses.

I'll take him off your hands if you want to throw Haden in the deal!!!

If I were ever going to trade Haden, I'd never send him somewhere that I had to try and pass on him twice a season.

Ya I would have to play 2nite I am working out of town 2marrow. I can play around 7 2nite?

I am actually attending a hockey game that starts at 7, which was why I said I wasn't sure when I'd be home. I would estimate 10-10:30 but i cannot guarantee that.

Ya that's fine I'll be on late 2nite.

Arizona's defense stepped up big and held Seattle's offense to 89 total yards. The final score of the game was 23-3. The key to slowing down Seattle's offense was the efforts by beefy lineman Red Byrant and star linebackers Lawrence Timmons and Daryl Washington. Their performance left Marshawn Lynch with only 60 yards on 21 carries. The win was key in Arizona's defense of their Nfc West crown. A loss would have put them two games in second, instead they are in first and hold the tie breaker over Seattle.
 • Offensive Player Of The Game- Arizona's Vincent Brown- Brown had a breakout game in Arizona's first game without Curtis Dozier. Malcom Floyd proved to be less than dependable, but Browns efforts more than made up for it. Browns finished the game with 4 catches for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns.
 • Defensive Player Of The Game- Arizona's Red Bryant- Other players had the big plays of the game, Peterson and Washington each intercepting passes during key moments of the game. But it was Bryant's anchoring of the defense which led to Marshawn Lynch being slowed down. He led the team with 5 tackles.

Hopefully i can keep t goin the schedule gets tough with mog twice in three games after the bye

TRADE FOR REVIEW

Seahawks Receive:

 • Eric Weddle, FS, 29 Years| 91 Ovr| 2014-9.29M, 2 Yrs Left/ 5 Yrs Total, 40M Total Salary, 10M Bonus
 • Antonio Gates, TE, 34 Years| 89 Ovr| 2014-7.51M, 2 Yrs Left/ 6 Yrs Total, 36M Total Salary, 6M Bonus
 • Charles Brown, LT, 27 Years| 77 Ovr| 2014-680K, 1 Yrs Left/ 1 Yrs Total, 680K Total Salary, No Bonus
 • 4th round pick in the 2015 draft

San Diego Receives:

 • Earl Thomas, FS, 25 Years| 91 Ovr| 2014-3.11M, 6 Yrs Left/ 6 Yrs Total, 44.11 M Total Salary, 4.5M Bonus
 • Russell Wilson, QB, 25 Years| 77 Ovr| 2014-800K, 2 Yrs Left/ 4 Yrs Total, 3 M Total Salary, 800K Bonus
 • Russell Okung, LT, 26 Years| 80 Ovr| 2014-8.62M, 2 Yrs Left/ 6 Yrs Total, 48 M Total Salary, 1.8M Bonus

Chargers get a younger faster safety who can hopefully improve their disappointing passing defense this season. They also get a highly talented and young QB that can challenge Hurns for the starting spot with Wilson. They lose a very highly rated LT and gain expensive project in Okung, but the former 1st rounder definitely has the potential to start with some run block upgrading. The Chargers also give a 4th round pick in this years draft to make up for some of the youth that the Hawks are losing and the Chargers are receiving.

The Seahawks get a overall great player in Weddle to make up for the loss of Thomas. They lose speed and youth, but gain a solid tackler who has Man and Zone at a 80+ rating. The biggest aquisition in this trade may be Antonio Gates who currently leads the Chargers in yards, receptions, and touchdowns. The Hawks are hoping he can bring that production to their 21st ranked pass offense. Seattle also hopes that the addition of Gates (61 Run Blk) and Brown (84 PBK, 86 RBK, 84 IBL) will improve their 26th ranked rushing offense by replacing the overpriced (8.62M) and poor run blocking (75 RBK) Okung.
