Madden 13 Official CAG League - On Hiatus. See you in August for Madden 25!

Steelers pick up their first win under Misty Bubbles, 21-10 over the Chargers.

Big Ben threw for 3 TD's, 1 each to Fitz, Meachem, and Heath Miller. Defense came up big with 3 INTs, 1 each for Mcgee, Pollard, and Trufant. Pollard's got a huge return and set up the icing TD and Trufant got the sealing INT in the 4th. Woodley adds a sack.

gg njrock!

Yeaaa he did...bengals win a tight one 31-28. Dalton threw a pick 6 with 30 seconds left in the 1st half, but got a quick fg to make it 14-10 at the break.

It was the aj green vs trentt platt show in the second half. Aj had 10 fo 240 2 td's n platt finished with 7 for 250 and 3 td's. Greens second td made it 31-28 at the 2 min warning. Cleveland was threatening after a successful 4th n 1 at midfield, but leon hall somehow got in front of platt to seal the win with a pick.

Great game mile high, platt clearly has the juice

GG. Boring as fuck. And a shit fumble. But you won it.

Edit: Couldn't get shit going on offense. Didn't help that I fumbled my first play of the game. Used all my timeouts in the 3rd trying to keep the clock from going to 0. Might not have been the best move, but I didn't have the patience for it. Could have been more creative with the playcalling early too. But yeah, not my game.
Fun is a bit of an exaggeration. I should've stayed in bed. Also, clock running in the 3rd???
You scored in about 14.2 seconds on your final drive, so I'm glad I didn't leave you more time. My D was playing well, but I'm always liable to lose it at a moment's notice (which I did). When I'm settling for FGs instead of TDs, I'm not gonna give you any more opportunities with the ball than I have to.

You definitely took one on the chin with your HB fumbling his first carry. I can relate given how my playoff game in the fantasy league went. Fumbles suck, especially when high carry guys make them.

This was definitely one of those '5 minute quarters is not enough' games. I feel like I had 4 possessions, especially when you take into consideration my non-possession first possession. I had no other turnovers to my name and I don't think I punted it more than 3 times. Sure, I was holding you to FGs, but I'd have to score on 75% of my drives just to tie it up.

I don't force a lot of turnovers, I'm easily in the bottom 3rd of the league in takeaways, but I don't give many away either. Only 5 giveaways all season, next lowest is 11.

Control the ball, pound the rock, and make you earn every yard. That's my modus operandi, always will be. :D

Denver Broncos 19 - New York Jets 7

The Broncos hosted the Jets in a key AFC game between two playoff contenders, looking to avenge their loss last season to these same Jets. Behind a great defensive performance (late breakdown aside) and a solid game from Brock Osweiler, they were able to prevail.

Osweiler was 8 of 12 for 115 yards, 1 TD and 0 INTs. A very solid game for him against a tough secondary.

Schaub was 3 of 8 for 60 yards, 1 TD and 0 INT.

For the first time all season, McGahee gets top billing, converting his 9 carries into 43 yards. McFadden was less impressive, carrying 19 times for 51.

Boudreaux carried 8 times for 52 yards, but his defining moment in the game was when Von Miller clocked him on his first carry and forced a fumble. Greene added 2 carries for 14 yards.

Demaryius Thomas had 3 catches for 50 yards, while VJax had 2 for 31 and the TD.

Dustin Keller had 2 catches for 46 yards, while the FB Okoye Aristotle (fantastic fucking name) caught the 14-yard TD from Schaub late on a very effective Jets drive.

Mr. Von Miller continued his fantastic season, totaling 7 tackles, 2 sacks and a forced fumble. He was in Schaub's business almost every time he dropped back to pass, forcing several other incompletions (and also breaking up a key 3rd down pass) Fat Albert also got in on the action with a strip sack of Schaub (though the Jets recovered). Joe Mays recovered the fumble.

The Jets got a sack from Wilkerson and Mercilus forced a McFadden fumble (though the Broncos recovered). They were very good against the run all day, bottling up McFadden on almost every carry.

---
gg uber! Definitely not going to look the gift horse in the mouth of getting that fumble recovery on your first play (especially after going 3-and-out to start the game). It was a solid hit by Von, but those are the little bounces which you just chock up to good luck. Generally though I was pretty pleased with the extent I was able to bottle up your run game after how badly it gashed me last season.

Broncos move to 8-2 and strengthen their playoff resume while adding what could be a key tiebreak. Nice to start my post-bye schedule off 2-0, but it's still a tough rest of the way for the boys in orange. Next up is a trip to the Cleveland Platts (who I certainly won't be overlooking after the scare they put into the Bengals) followed by a home game against those same undefeated Bengals, who are likely looking for some revenge after last year's playoff stomping at the hands of the Broncos.
If the season ended today, the Dolphins would be the #6 seed. Pressure's on now, buddy, you're the hunted rather than the hunter.
Good game man. Platt ran a bad route on that final play that resulted in the interception that sealed the game. He was supposed to run a fly pattern but I guess it was not meant to be. I really wish things had turned out differently as I could of really used the win.

Platt continues to grow on his record breaking season netting another 250 yard receiving performance. He now has over 2200 yards and 21 TD's on the season as well as leading the league in YAC. All this considering his stats remain quite above average outside of his release. There is something certainly special about him as he just finds ways to get the ball no matter the defensive play.

"Something special" = throw it to him on every play.

Just a "tidbit of knowledge"

you've thrown it to him 30 more times (completions....lord knows you've attempted to throw it to him alot more than this...) than anyone else in the league playing a receiver-type position.

And the 12 drops proves this. lol
I'm ready to advance!... Even though we just did.
Good to see you've broken through the madden fatigue as well.
Good to see you've broken through the madden fatigue as well.
My open days have coincided nicely with advancing lately. And I hate getting a L early in the advance and waiting around for the next. I need instant redemption!
Haven't heard from the Bucs today. Waiting to find out what's going on with his connection.
Connection is good to go, they sent someone out this morning. He typically is done work around 4:30 Est

Rams Cards is going down around 9:00 cst

Platt is a phenom. I dont see the problem with what milhighs doing. He throws it to other recievers n running backs too. Yea he throws it to platt a shitload but the guys open why not throw it to him. Its not like hes running the same play over n over either. Its just nice to see someone actually puttin up stats with peyton manning, thats realistic. He needs to find balance tho if he wants to consistantly win. He prolly knows that too, live by one player, die by one player
Holy shit bengals crack the top 5 in power rankings. Holy shit holy shit
alot of good teams in the top 12. wow.
Woot! Matt Cassel 2.0 coming to Kansas City.
Do you not actually think this is good news for the Chiefs? Smith gives you a much much better chance to be competitive next season than any rookie would, this QB class is not good.

Nope. Terrible news...why you ask. They're obviously going to let Albert go (top 10 LT) and then draft one. So you have a guy who sucked for the first 6 years of his career and a rookie LT. Then toss in Bowe who will get tagged and not give two shits about the season cause he'll be able to leave....disaster.

upgrade over Cassel = yes. Upgrade for the future, no way in hell.

What's the alternative? Drafting a QB in this mediocre class and watching him struggle? Smith has been quite good the last 2 seasons, certainly better than anything KC has had. Nor does adding him preclude you from drafting a QB in the middle rounds or next year.

Definitely 6 of one and a half dozen of another. The biggest problem is that he'll be good enough to keep us out of the top 10 of the draft but not in the playoffs. That's when you get stuck with a guy like Tannehill or Cassel or Smith.

I'm not completely against it (more annoyed), and you're right, they aren't going to get anything better in the draft.
Want Sanchez?
He's looking like an especially good bargain now that his 2013 cap number is higher than Tom Brady's. :D

chiefs should tag bowe or sign him and sign albert and draft tavon austin that dudes going to be a monster

Chiefs have mccuster already. And who knows geno could be a monster in his own right...I see Alex smith as a game manager

well either way chiefs just need to sign albert and bowe and call it good they dont need to draft wut they can already have and know is good why chance it thats stupid. and they could still draft geno but i think tavon austin is going to be better. and mccluster isnt at the same level as tavon austin

McCluster's nothing special, real life isn't Madden. He's certainly not a legit big-time receiving threat.

I'm not saying he's not a fine player, but you're not entering the draft going "don't worry guys, we're all set at WR, we've got Dexter McCluster!"
"Something special" = throw it to him on every play.
Hardly. Hard not to throw it to a guy who can always get open. Not to mention he gets the ball in a variety of different plays and patterns.

I wish I could have more balance on offense but I am constantly following behind early which forces me to pass. My D needs serious upgrading and that is what I will be focusing on in the offseason.

I don't follow. 30 more times what?

Drops are not a stat that is available to be seen so how can you possibly know his total number?

There's nothing wrong with it, but you need to understand that this league has a tradition of being a sim league. That's not universally how people feel, but a good majority of us like seeing realistic stats and gameplans which feel like real football. So you can't really be surprised when people roll their eyes at a guy who is targeted vastly more than every other receiver on your team combined and also more than many other entire teams.

And I think fero meant that he has 30 more completions than the next closest guy, which probably pales in comparison to how many more targets he has.

Foster has rushed for over 2300 yards and AP ain't far behind. Both have 25+ TD's. I know I am not the only one using my star player a lot. I do hear what you are saying though.

I'm definitely not saying it's just you, I know not everyone plays Madden the same way and as long as they're within the rules I'm fine with it. I know not everyone enjoys putting up the middling/realistic stats like I do, and that's fine. I'm just explaining why people have been scoffing at it a bit, especially as you've been talking up his achievements.

Fair enough. Thanks for clarification. If I had a better roster, I probably would be trying to balance my attack more but I simply don't have the roster for that.

Your roster definitely is no great shakes, though it looks a lot better with Manning than it did before. I'd definitely be trying to get Richardson a lot more burn if I were you though.

...though now that I think about it I shouldn't be giving you ideas when we play next week. I'll save the ideas for after. ;)
