I was in my local BestBuy at lunch (Bellevue, WA), and saw that they had the MarioKart Gamecube bundles on sale for $99. The surprise was that it included two controllers!

Edit: Peeps have asked about the color. The Cube and controllers are somewhat silverish, with a hint of gold. I'm not sure if that qualifies as "platinum" or not. And as to the packaging, you can't miss it. The box is bigger (to accomodate another controller), and the little plumber is plastered all over the box.

Anyone have a picture of the box. I want to see if the package comes with 2 controllers. If it doesn't no big deal, I'll still buy it.
 
I just got the bundle from Target in Pembroke Pines, FL. They just got a shipment in, I saw about 3 boxes, of 3 in each. The bundle has the platinum Gamecube, and two platinum controllers. And the Double Dash game. (Mario Kart Double Dash!! Bonus Set) The box is bigger than normal, reminds me of the old Nes bundle.. Anyway, now I need to think about a good action game.
 
Plus, I'm torn between the GC and the PS2 as a second system. I'm leaning toward the PS2, only because I have nearly 50 PS2 titles I've accumulated over the past year just waiting for me to play...

I'm in the same situation about choosing a second system but I'm going with the Cube for 2 reasons.

1. The Playstation 3 will be backwards compatible so you can skip the PS2 alltogether. Lets face it, the PS2 is old tech right now and it simply isn't worth $150 when the PS3 is around the corner.

2. Realistic Zelda.

I checked during lunch today just for kicks. My local B&M BB did not have the Mario Kart bundle in stock, and the bumbling teen customer service reps I talked with had no idea when (or even if) it would be coming in anytime soon.

Well someone in this thread bought one and someone else saw it, so yes it's available now.

I asked the assistant manager at my local EB about this, and he was familiar with it. Said they expected to get them in next week.
 
I saw these bundles at Target today. They do indeed come with two controllers. Good deal!

p.s. This is at the Oakridge Mall location in San Jose, CA
