This red iso repeat event goes on for 5 days? Ugh. And it's just for a two-star character? (Who I wont even add to my roster, most likely)

I'm holding on to about 33,000 ISO now. will probably use it boost up Black Panther into the 100s. His black cover only has one though. (4 yellow, and 2 blue I think).

Wish the game had a spent all ISO button instead of just the spend max ammount. If you're a few thousand short of the max you still have to hold down your finger for levelling.

You really should add her to your roster because otherwise you will be gimped next event and pull the Alliance down because of it. Just add her and then just keep her there until you need a new spot then kick her to the curb.

But yeah I totally agree on the "Spend all ISO button." I was thinking about that the second they added the max level button or whatever because it makes far more sense to just spend all ISO.

From a UI standpoint, a lot of the issues go away by removing the partial leveling function of the left button. They need to keep the right button the way it is for monetization purposes (it will take 'x' ISO to hit the maximum level, wouldn't you like to buy some at printer ink prices?), but there isn't a benefit for having 372/1014ths of a level. Just press one button to go up one level, the other to go to max level.

Or at least let me be able to hold my finger down constantly to spend all my ISO. They make me lift and lift! That's work, man!

I'll have to spend another 500 hp in order to open another cover slot after we get this new ms marvel. I dont think I have anyone worth selling off . (maybe two star storm, but she's boosted sometimes.....)

I got a green She Hulk from the last tournament. Next reward up is Hood. Who I'm not a fan of, but I know you guys are.

When I join in though and play since I will have waited so long, my nodes will be worth so much I will likely sky rocket to the middle of the pack anyway. That is what I do basically every PvE hah

If I see we are really waning though and need more points yes I can hop in sooner. I really just dont have time to play much anyway and especially this week. I have work all day, class all night on Monday and Tuesday. Then Wednesday after work I need to get homework done because I am taking off Thursday and Friday to go be with family. And when I am with family I put my phone away for the whole time!

I hear that, I'm up to 550 for a new node, currently at 41 slots. I added one for Juggernaut so I could compete in that 1-2-3 tourney for the Anniversary, so I might dump him once I get Ms. Marvel. I'd agree with the others, it's almost certain that she'll be required for the essential nodes for the next event, and without her, it will be even more of a grind for whatever the rewards are. Of course, I'm still hanging on to a fully covered but unleveled Johnny Storm.

On the plus side, I'm about 6k from the red Steve progression reward, which will put him at 3/5/4, so I would only need one more blue and a ton of Iso and he would be fully loaded.

I think Ive finally got my 2* Johnny to the same build as my 3*. I went ahead and leveled him though as he seems to be a favorite at getting powered up. Its like 2* Cap, I dont want to but they always power him up. Last time they had him power up he was boosted to level 100, while my 3* torch sits at level 100. It was nice to see a side by side comparison. The results were, yes, a powered up 2* at level 100 is more powerful than a 3* at the same level. More than likely Ms Marvel is going to be the same, she'll be used more and powered up more than the 3*. Im thinking this is also a way to inflate an artificial need for 2* characters. During events more often than not they're leveled to be comparable or even better than 3*s. It really makes it hard to dismiss, say modern hawkeye. During the last event where he was powered up with GSBW. It was a no brainer as GSBW purple power made hawks speed shot. Powered up Ares? Yeah nuff said. Thats why, though I dont really use them, I always have to keep 2*s because they make pve easier. Even easier when you level them up some.

I'm about at the 30000 mark. I'll push to see if I can get up to the 50,000 mark.

Do you need to play the little nodes (sub 500 points) in order to unlock more big nodes (2000+ points).

I usually just play the essential nodes and whichever regular node gives 1500+

I think all the nodes are shown. I have the two essentials that are green for me, and then there are three more greens ~ 400 pts each when full. The rest are yellow and red.

 
Man, my nodes suck. I get rubberbanding, but fighting it out for top spot means I have to beat level 250+ characters to get 600 points. I haven't seen a 1k+ node in over a day or so, closest I get is about 900 for the best points, everything else 800 and lower, and drop like rocks as I start clearing. I don't think there are any unlockable nodes, but I play through them all at least once to make sure and don't remember any beyond the first one.

And yeah, I decided I want the green X-Force, because I don't want to play the Sentry bombing game for as long as I can. Going to try to build up a 4* instead, and I need four more covers to get maxed out.


And hey, new Lightning Rounds with different featured characters! Sorta. No Patch, Spider-Man or Punisher, but now we get Psylocke and She-Hulk. Another reason to level Betsy, not so sure on Jennifer. Too bad the Thor format didn't stick around while they were changing things. Still, ISO farming.

Ive known Broly for a bit and when it comes to the game, I think I should translate for anyone who doesnt understand.

What Broly means to say is this:

Bitches, get off my nuts. This is a freaking 2 star and the ONLY reason Id even bother to have it is that it may help a little on the next event. After that I'm selling that thing ASAP! If it was a 3* that I wanted it would be different. You guys know I hate 2*s, look at how awesome my roster is! I have a fully leveled up 3* Thor and Im working on my Deadpool. If you guys really are losers and cant maintain me at least 1 cover for this 2* piece of crap, I may join in at some time. Other than that I have stuff to do; And now that you have questioned my authority, I will be less likely to even bother with your stupid 2*.

Is it wrong if I honestly have the same feelings as "Sarcasm Broly" (more or less. I mean, it -is- a two star. Why bother?)

 
Agreed - this is a character that will never be seriously useful, other than as the required character a handful of future events to earn the 3*s we actually want.

 
As much as I refuse to house a new 2* in my roster I still see the merit and necessity to have her in the short term at least.

It is guaranteed she will be a required hero and as we all know if you do not have those characters then keeping your score on par with others is damn near impossible. 

We do not know what the next reward will be but it is pretty much for sure a 3* and which one we do not know. Chances are almost all of the Alliance could benefit from whichever it is, even if you have that 3* maxed however. So by allowing the 2* in your roster for at least the next event in my mind is a necessity. As much as we joke that I am not a team player I still do keep my scores up for the most part and in this situation I have a feeling I wont need the next 3* reward from the PvE BUT I know almost everyone else will so I sure as hell better have Marvel in my roster for that event so that I can help get us to top 100. Same goes for everyone else.

Short term for the essential character nodes will be a necessity in keeping up your score in the next event thats just a given. I've learned this from past events when I didnt have those characters: Punisher, Stormhawk, Cap Marvel.

During the 3* Captain marvel unveil event I think I and Elder didnt have 1 cover and we were at the bottom of the alliance. I finally snagged 1 cover the last day and doubled my score with the essential node. I had my eyes opened on how important it is to have an essential character.

Now comes the mixed roster. Im a huge proponent of having 2*s and even 1 1* in your roster. Successful PVP calls for maxed heavy hitting 3*s there's no question about that. As for PVE 2*s usually run the game. TBH I love the fact that my 2*s are powered up. It lets me use them for PVE whil still having my heavy hitter 3*s be unaffected for PVP. Also I have better options during the limited roster events. Im not saying keep all 2*s, you know which ones are more powered up, but just make sure to have a mix. Like right now, who's glad they have their OBW? I love when they power her up during events. Even though I dig Grey Suit, OBW just kicks ass.

Anyways I always say it, but 2*s arent so useless, they are powered up and take the emphasis away (most of the time) from my PVP 3* teams. Oh and so we get 3 covers for Dino, 1 of each color on day 365,366,367. Thats pretty nice actually.

 
oh, i know. im working my way toward her two star cover.
playyed the psylocke lightening round. didnt realize you got placed in a bracket w/ everyone. yyou had to play all 90 mins to compete. battles only gave 15 to 20 points. i had 200 and that still wasnt enough to break top 100.

This reminds of the third grade. A friend and I were looking at the lunch calendar for the month, and towards the end of it, one of the days had a comment at the bottom of the square for that date, under the menu. It said *Sunglass Day*.

Holy fuck ing shit.

What a mystery. What the heck did that mean? We get to wear sunglasses at lunch that day? We get sunglasses? No one knew, so we decided to check it out. We found the calendars that all the teachers got every month (anyone remember paper calendars? Anyone?) and it said *Sunglasses handed out to 6th graders ONLY.

So that was bullshit. I mean, what makes a 6th grader better than a 3rd grader? (I eventually showed them the answer was "nothing", as I played varsity basketball and tennis as a freshman). So my friend and I wrote "fuck 6th graders!" on the back of his lunch calendar. Well, guess who left said calendar on top of his desk when we went out to recess that day? Teacher found it, he sold me out, we both served detention, and are no longer friends.

TL;DR? Moral of the story - 2*s and 6th graders provide no true value to society, and should not be focused on for any reason.

Unless you are really bored, there is almost zero value trying for a top spot in a LR. Long gone are the days of a guaranteed 3* from winning a round, all that you get are tokens with a high chance of 2* covers. I mean, yeah, someone has to actually win, but they are better as ISO farms, especially if you get the seed teams. I usually grab 109 points for progression and at least 500 in match ISO.

Great post, mostly because you reminded me that I have the seed teams queued up in the Shulk PvP that's set to end in 10 minutes.

EDIT: Caught a bad bracket, so it didn't matter.

I read that at 11:57 and so I tried but I literally finished AS THE FREAKING CLOCK TURNED NOON. Bah. Oh well.

New PvP is Hood with Stormhawk rewards. Hopefully I will remember this one because I should be able to dominate this PvP fairly well and could use more Stormhawks

 
I tried jumping in during the last hour during the She Hulk tourney.

1 hour and 6 minutes remaining. Top 10 all had 400+ points. Did I jump in too soon?

39k in the ISO-8 event. So one more battle for the Steve cover.

Top players in my bracket all have 70,000 which is nuts.

Yeah, I think I'm no longer able to do a last minute bracket. I started with 12 minutes left with three 40+ nodes on my screen. First fight was a locked board that slowed me down, but my placement was only like 300th place. After grinding through 40+ matches until the clock stopped, I still didn't crack top 100. Top spot had 700 points when I checked before my last match, and now I'm getting an error when trying to see the leaderboard, even though I can see the board in PvE. So, I don't know if I'm getting gentlenudged into harder brackets, or there just weren't enough people playing last minute to put me with people of similar start time. With boosts, I can clear an early 40 point match in two minutes or less (maxed 2*s, usually). That means, even with lucky skipping, I would need at least a half hour to get that score. And that's without bad boards, spammy animations, etc.

Speaking of which, PvE nodes reset, if anyone cares.

Wouldn't have mattered. The bracket I was in only had 357 (ish) in it, so you would've been tossed into that one, more than likely. 25 points doesn't do you much good last minute in that situation.

 
Not sure if anyone has pointed this out (or if this has been a thing in the past), but if you go into the season VII board, you can play with Thorina against some goons. The rewards are typical (70, 100, 200 iso or a recruit token) and you don't get season points for it, but it's a chance to mess around with her again.

Never noticed that before, so probably something new. Neat.


And I think I've been scaled out of a top spot in PvE. Even bringing a maxed Cap and Thor, I cannot beat the Congo level. Level 309 enemies, one of which is a Muscle who makes two 1k+ strike tiles if his countdowns go off. Considering their tile damage is 137 as is, I'm already taking 400 damage just on a regular match three, never mind a four/five or cascade. Just one countdown missed and game over, or one red/green cascade, or one Devour, etc. All that for a node that is currently only showing 693 points.

I'm dancing back and forth in 2nd/3rd, have currently wiped out all of my characters over level 100 with three nodes unbeaten, and first place has 3k on me. If 2nd place gets more than a few thousand ahead after the next node cycle, I think I'm going to cut my losses and just accept whatever Ms. Marvel covers I manage. This is crazy.

I read that wrong, I thought that was a green GSBW not IW.... I think I need green on IW, but I dont remember. (Just checked I only have 3 in green, I need it!) Speaking of GSBW, standard token pulls me out a gsbw, red. Really pointless now but hey free iso.

Speaking of pointless 3* red covers, got the final progression reward for Steve. This event, is nothing going on? Do people really want Ms Marvel that bad? Am I just lazy? Im in the top 200-300. I will not be able to push for top 150 (?) to get my own cover. So yeah whatever comes my way. Honestly she's a 2* I'll get more than enough from tokens and battle rewards. Just like Moonstone, can we just have her powered up now? Ive got more than enough of her in the past couple weeks. I get it, you want me to have her!

I've been shooting for the green X-Force cover for top 2 placement. For the past day or so I haven't fallen out of top five. I'm fine with a single cover of Marvel and whatever ISO I manage, if I can't keep top 2 in range.

But yes, you are lazy, regardless. :twoguns:

I meant to ask, as the resident Falcon advocate, are you still running him regularly? He's on my goon squad with OBW and a damage/strike third (usually Punisher), but I haven't put any levels in him since I rarely use his purple and blue doesn't need levels. Curious if his yellow is enough of a game changer to level him higher.

As for Falcon, yes, but he's not too great with OBW. Its that purple which causes issues. Running with a OBW, Punisher, Falcon team; my falcon is too high. Which means for me Blacks go to pun, purple to Falcon, and OBW gets only blues. When it comes to damage dealers and strike tiles I usually pair him with Black panther, oh and a variation of storm, just to make it groovy. Blaxploitation aside, yellow strike tiles from panther, enhanced by yellow inspiration has made a difference. Ive had cascades which have taken down hulk at amazing rates. So I know it works just not in great detail. He has made an amazingly noticeable difference with Psylocke though. When he strengthens her strike & attack tiles it does crazy damage. Its funny for such a suck character, he's pretty good. I always forget how much easier goons are when Redwing is around.

There's less than a day left in the ISO-8 event. I've got over 40,000 points. And I don't see much point in going further. There aren't any progression rewards, and there's no way I can get enough points to get into the top 100 in the final day.

(And it's a two star cover!)

Cap, Hulk and OBW make a pretty good rainbow team for this event though.

I started the event last night on my train ride home and then played again for another 30 minutes this morning. Under 2 hours playing and I already am basically at 50k points... soooooo uhhhhhhh suck it bitches : P

I know what I am doing by now haha

Step one is admitting you have a problem...


I booted a random this morning, and we ended up getting someone going gangbusters in PvE - enough that we are now in 54th place. We're only 6k back from 50th. The difference between top 100 and top 50 is only 50 HP. If anyone has essentially bowed out of the event, but could use the extra HP, you might want to throw the alliance a few points from the easy nodes, especially if the rubberbanding is in your favor.

I think it's a six day-ish event with multiple subevents. It's the one where the Dark Avengers are looking for Fury, and had the Devil Dino node in the Savage Land.
