Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion - Gen Discussion & Info - DLC RESTORED!
GS exclusives don't see so exclusive anymore huh...what does the wii get? they already had psylocke? maybe they get an unlockable hero called "jaksquat"

800 seems a bit steep, perhaps xbox will have the deal of the day and the price will be 400-600 ms points intead. They can add so many DLC characters and sim levels, it'd be smarter if they just made them cheaper. no rush to get the DLC, the B2G1 deals made my backlog nvtz. I wonder if they'll give us spiderwoman or anti venom down the road, so the team bonus can be called arachnophpobia.

hopefully they did the new fusions and alt customes good, as much as I love Jim Lee's rendition of psylocke they didn't seem to follow that model.
That GS "exclusive" saved me $2. I'll take what I can get.

I picked it up, but haven't played yet. Lego Rock Band has been keeping me away. After that, I'm gonna beat Brutal Legend and then play this again.

I bought the DLC today and played it for quite a while.

Magneto is a fucking monster. His Y move is where he brings debris up from the ground that smashes around the enemy and it does great damage and never misses. His other moves are an aoe where he sucks foes in, lifts them up, then shoots them outward, a projectile where he picks up 5ish debris shards and fires them outward in a fan like fashion but they also bounce off walls, and some other beam thing.

Carnage is alright, his moves are a little lame. He has one where he throws an axe at an enemy, but its a little difficult to shoot the correct way. His other moves are the general lunge forward, 3 forward slashes and a close range aoe. The aoe is a little week but its extremely spamable.

Psylocke is very general in abilities, I only used her until I unlocked her alternate outfit then switched her out.

Cable is cool, he has a rapid tap gun that bounces off enemies, a big gun beam, an aoe ground smash and basically the Green Goblin's pumpkin bombs.

Black Panther is basically Black Panther from MUA1 but imo a little weaker. I didn't use him very much because he dies pretty quickly on the difficulty that 1 step up from Normal so I can't really comment on his moveset, I think its sort of like Psylocke's.

Ran through the Sim Missons last night. Gotta say, they were pretty sucky.

One of 'em was just a boss fight with Magneto. Or should I say, a boss fight with a bunch of robots. Magneto's there, but his damage pales in comparison to the damage of the robots he brings in. Those robots alone make this probably the hardest new Sim mission.

Another mission has you escorting a robot through a bunch of rooms. Some rooms have bad guys for you to kill, others just have turrets you can kill/floor hazards to turn off. With my characters at max level, this was a cake walk. I was going for the "don't turn off any floor hazards" and "don't kill any turrets" trophies, and the damage they caused to both myself and the robot was negligable. Got a gold on it, even with the robot taking a lot of hazard damage.

Has shown in previous videos, another map has you walking along a corrider with two walls of energy on either side of you, pushing you through. It's mentioned as being "optimized for Co-op", but that's only because the AI partners are too stupid to not get hit by a moving wall/not fall into a pit and die. More than likely, everyone not-you will die, and you'll solo the map, not that its all that hard.

Finally there's the map that features boss fight after boss fight. Might be interesting at lower levels, but at the level cap, you're too powerful for any boss to really have a chance at you. You get an achievement if you don't break any boxes between rounds to replenish health, something easily done if you abuse Iron Fist's healing chi.

Overall, I'd only recommend the DLC if you have yet to do your second playthrough. Otherwise you'll breeze through the sim missions and have no real reason to use the extra characters.

Yeah, I popped it in last night -- I'm not impressed. For the new characters, I only used Cable and Psylocke. Cable was pretty good, at least.

The escort mission I got gold without even trying. Granted, I destroyed all the turrets and turned off the floor hazards, but it was still easy as hell. Like the above poster said, the level with the energy fields on each side (Balance) will end up as a solo mission. Everyone on my team died, and when I brought them back, they died again.

I haven't beaten the multiple boss battle sim yet, but I did manage to get the "Blitz" achievement (beat 2 bosses in 10 seconds) by spamming Wolverine's Y attack. The sim disc against Magneto is ridiculous -- those robots wreck my team.

I just popped MUA2 in to continue my second playthrough and encountered a funny bug.

I was finishing up Hideout Raid: Going Deep as an X-Men team with Cable leading the way. He died twice, because he's still mega weak, and I revived him twice. Upon his second revival, I started spamming his RT+A attack and when I stopped, I couldn't move anywhere with him. He'd just spin around in a circle. I couldn't jump either. I switched to Wolverine and went about my business and then started a fusion with Cable, which brought him over to where I currently was, and when I switched back to Cable, I still couldn't move anywhere.

It fixed itself as soon as I went to the next area after an FMA.

Hmmm....not so sure if I want the DLC now... I may just go ahead with my second playthrough. But I love Juggernaut/Magneto/Psylocke/Cable.... Hrmmm...
I'll probably end up buying it before my second playthrough.

heard it was pulled down on 12/31 as it was "limited time only"

edit: yeah what the below guy said

I'm also pretty sure the DLC for the first Ultimate Alliance is no longer online either. Least I cannot find it. It's also gone from PSN. Far as I can tell, it was taken down on Dec. 31, but no one is saying why. Vicarious Visions is saying they had nothing to do with it. Activision said it was designed to be "Limited Time Only", but it seems kinda odd to say something is Limited after you already removed it...

there isn't any DLC available though, not even videos atm or Juggs.

i guess i'll spend 800 ms points elsewhere...strange.

I'm actually more po'd that I won't be able to get all the achievements now that it's impossible w/out the DLC...perhaps if they figure out how to get it back up there they'll have more DLC where you can play as Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Pooh. Meh.

It pisses me off because I was planning on getting it this week and if they don't put it back up then my regular copy of the game will be useless.

And lawl at the possibility of Disney characters. It won't happen until I get blessed with Howard the duck in it.

After how abruptly they pulled it, makes me wonder what was wrong with it. I'm not buying the "it's limited" excuse, as that only works to drum up sales if you announce it before you pull it. Taking it down just deprives them of money, and since when as Activision ever been against making money? Here's some not-so-serious consp1racy theories...

1) Activision pulled the content for the specific reason of making the Gold edition of UA2 more desirable at full price ($60), since UA2 is currently easily found for less than $40.

2) It does in fact have something to do with Disney buying Marvel.

3) There was some kind of offensive material hidden inside the DLC. Wouldn't be the first time something like this happened. Here's hoping there was an accidental nude Psylocke skin left in and not an accidental nude Magneto skin...

They took it down? fuck. Thats messed up. I'm happy I got it, but its still jacked up for late comers to the title. Well, that Gold Edition is looking sweeter now.

I'm still hoping for at least 1, if not 2, more DLC packs, but thats just me. I love this game. I might start my third play through soon.

if that's the case, since Magneto is in that DLC pack he's really the only golden age character that would be despute. would it be possible for someone to move the DLC to a MU then upload it to another HDD?

That's an intresting case. I wonder what will come from it. The only character I can see his heirs making any money from is Captian America since he was created before Marvel and then brought over. Everyone else was created under the Marvel label, so one would asume Marvel owns the copyrights to them all.

If someone already has it, they should be able to redownload it through there Account Information, but that should be possible, if its small enough to fit on a MU.

It could also be that disney owns Marvel now and their is an issue in the contract. Maybe disney wants the dlc to cost more or didn't give permission to make the dlc and they have to do a new contract for the game. Who the hell knows other then the ones that pulled it from online.

I thought I remembered reading something that said Disney was going to allow all existing contracts to be completed and then they would decide what they wanted to do with the IP involved.

This sounds more like Gold Edition stuff than anything else, as the game dropped in price really quick.
Not sure how but this might have to do with it. I don't think it does seeing how it is just spider man but you never know.
I don't think that has anything to do with it, and if it's anything like the whole Superman case then nothing will come of it. Marvel will keep the rights, at the most they'll just start paying dues to Kirby's estate.

It's most likely just something to do with the fact they're having a gold release eventually.

when playing and choosing characters. i notice 2 empty spots. whats these spots for dlc characters, unlocked characters or just separation between the characters?

MUA 2 was so disappointing compared to the first one, plus the Achievements are glitchy as fuck.

I got glitched out of the one for beating 12 bosses on Legendary but I got the one for doing 25 maps on Legendary way early (or so it seemed). 890 points and I'm done with this crappy game.

Luckily I had a friend to co-op through it with, which made it barely tolerable at least.

It's possible the missing spots are Juggs and
Nick Fury
. One of course you got if you use the GS exploit or preordered it and got a code, the other is unlockable after beating the game.
Hoping for a Gold release on this now. Otherwise I'll pass on this game sadly. Man this is just not cool.
Seeing on how they possibly lost the license, I doubt that there will be a re-release of any kind.

Yeah, I don't think they'll be making a gold release after they lost the license and the poor sales the game had.

Really though, you're not missing a lot... The game was too glitchy and unpolished for me. It actually made me regret getting it day one.

I liked the game but it was not as good as one. Also it did have a lot of glitches that I'm sure we will never see fixed.

It was fun, but for the amount of problems I had with it, I don't think it was worth anymore than 30 bucks and the fact that they took away the DLC just makes me really mad at the game. I wish it was longer, I think is my main problem. I'll probably only re-buy it after it's 20 dollars.
I actually liked it more than the first game. Oh well, to each his own.
I'm kind of split. This one truly felt "Next Gen" with the looks and the fusions, but 1 is simply a classic because I've been able to enjoy it longer.

I can see people's qualms with MUA2, but no game is ever perfect. I think I remember the first game having horrible looking gaps between the left and right side of the character, split right down the center. I don't remember for fact though.

I'm also split.

Multiplayer MUA2 is better but MUA has a more enjoyable Single player due to more customization.

I really wish they would've packed MUA2 with more characters. It's be awesome to have a cast of 50.

I think a larger cast would've really fixed it for me. I liked the characters they had except
Robo-Fury
I mainly wish they really had Moon Knight and more costumes in the game.

I think it was so short because they expected people to play both sides but even then it was short. I have to say after I got it when it came out and played it I felt it was not worth full price. If it was not for Juggs only being able to be had from Gamestop when preordering at the time I would have held off till it got cheaper.
I think the game is pretty awesome.....but how do I get the DLC?
You can't. They pulled it off the networks.

Pretty much the same for me except I preordered it because I honestly thought it was going to be a phenomenal game... But in the end I was very disappointed because of the brevity of the story mode and all of the glitches. I think the glitch that made me angriest wasn't the achievements but the glitched boss battles. Colossus always glitched terribly the last time you had to fight him for me, he'd run backwards and punch wildly into the air and it would still take my health away and stuff. It was crazy.

i bought the first one a couple days ago, i like it but it doesn't seem as fleshed out, clean as MAU2. MAU2 may have glitches and bugs, but its cleaner, better organized, and easier to manage things to me. I immediately played as moonnight in MAU1 and wish he was in MAU2 as well

nanitefury
got him but if your refering to a normal fury then no

Im still playing through pro reg, so I'll see if that fills one of the empty spots.
