Marvel vs Capcom 3 $29.99 at Best Buy/Amazon

Yeah everyone avoid this like the plague. Make Capcom buy these discs back from the stores. UMvC 3 with online that actually works and all the characters they originally planned as DLC is $40 in Nov. If you were waiting then just get that.

This game should not be purchased at all unless you're waiting for a sub-$15 fighting game.

I will pick up UMvC3 in November - I'm glad I passed on this. It gives me an excuse to make a stick between now and then.

Wait, its comming out this year ? Releasing the game twice in a 10 month span, Wow milkcom just wow. I'll wait till it goes on sale like ssf4 arcade edition did after release

Almost picked this up. I'm glad I waited before the Ultimate announcement today. Did Capcom say if the Ultimate would also be DLC like SSF4: AE?

I'll wait for this to go sub $20 and then I'll buy it. Well... unless the sequel really does have Megaman, as then I know my kids will want to play it and that would be worth the extra $20+ alone.

I can't complain, I saw this day coming since Feb 2011, although I bought 'vanilla' edition because I love the VS series.

lol the hate from people who probably played this game for an hour and sold it is delicious.

So wait, by your logic, if the price had dropped to $40 MSRP for the original by the end of the year, that would have been okay, but releasing a new version for $40 that has new characters, features, and balance changes is not okay?

Hate>Logic, apparently.

Mvc3 is anything but a hardcore fighting game. This fighting game if any was made for the casuals to get into. Now part 2 on the other hand ........

What I'm saying is that its unfair for the people who brought this barebones game at launch only to see that the "complete" edition is comming out a couple of months later after they brought it. It's bad for the consumer

I never got this argument... Most of the people who bought the game on Day 1 are hardcore fans of fighting games. They most likely played it for HOURS (100+) and were waiting for DLC to keep it going. Buying the full game would be like paying 3.33 per character which they most likely would have.

Yes this might suck for casual fans who play many games, but for the demographic its still cheaper than buying the singular characters. You figure buying all 12 characters would be 60 alone going off the two DLC characters.

What the fuck....
Where is Gene from God Hand?
So... Cyclops, Gambit, Blade, Silver Surfer, Omega Red, Blackbolt, none of them made it to the final six but Rocket Racoon did it... is this for real? really?

That's what being an early adopter is all about. You pay full price to have it on day 1 or close to it, instead of waiting and picking it up on the cheap a little later. This applies to all products, not just games.

I do agree with this ( well with consoles and electronic hardware in general ) but you mean to tell me that Capcom couldnt have easily delayed the game from releasing in febuary and released this edition for the full msrp in November ? They didn't even wait a year, thats crazy

I understand people's complaints, but I never fault business for trying to make a buck. These are for profit organizations after all. We, as consumers, have the choice to buy or not. If they did delay it like you suggest, then we'd bitch about that too. Just treat past decisions as a sunk cost and move on.

This sums it up pretty good. Also, this is CAPCOM - in 2011 you have to realize that any game you buy from them will eventually get remade in a relatively short time - especially a fighting game.

I just miss the days when the games we got were complete and we had to grind or input codes to get the unlockables. I beat mvc2 again and again just to get enough points to buy all the fighters. Now its either buy a character for 5 bucks or buy the whole game again. It's so sad

My apologies to OP due to rating the thread 1 star. I mean it -is- a good deal on a product normally of higher MSRP, but with UMVC3 announced and right around the corner there is zero reason for anyone to buy this version. =( Nothing personal in the least, just wanting to try and steer peeps away from buying vanilla MvC3 at this point.

I hear ya. Gotta take the good with the bad. I don't miss the days when I paid $65 for a SNES game and got stuck with it, good or bad, because there was no used market around. Gaming is so much more accessible nowadays if you know what you're doing.

release date for UMVC3? And for all you haters, MVC3 isn't that bad. I enjoyed it. I wish fighting games didn't have dlc. For ex. SSBB made millions and yet no dlc. Can you imagine if Nintendo made dlc for that game. That's even more MILLIONS right there, but their not dicks like some companies and developers.

Are we really going to go around comparing apples/oranges here... Seriously some people need to grow up and if need be make a stand. If you don't like it then don't buy it.

Apples? Oranges? I just wanted someone to tell me the release date. Late November of this year. Wonder if all those $1 shadow battles are included, even though they don't bring much to the party.

You did? Let me fix your post then. this:

Should be this:

And your argument for SSBB not having DLC is seriously "cause nintendo arn't dicks"? How about the shit online platform, think that has anything to do with it? Cause the "nintendo arn't dicks" argument is invalid in light of Xenoblade, Last Story, Pandora's Tower, and Reggie's face

:applause:

As someone who grew up and bought SF2: WW, SF2; CE, SF2: Turbo, Super SF2 Turbo etc... I'm fine with this.

I've logged 140 hours on my xbox alone playing MvC3, who knows how much at local meetups and at friends houses total. For lots, this is 40 bucks well spent.

(Please nerf Wolverine's health and priority, along with Zero and Dante's priority as well)

Hulk / Taskmaster / Super Skrull 4 life (or until Ultimate drops)
