WTF!? You could choose Tali in ME2? I thought everyone was all excited because it might be an option for ME3 and then I thought they just didn't do it. Do you see her without the mask in either game!? Wow, it's amazing how much I can play some games and just miss stuff so thoroughly. BTW, I just kept it going with Liara in my ME3 playthough. My Paragon save from ME1 was Liara and I played through ME2 again to get that save to ME3 (waste of time I guess given the ending but oh welll - at least I hadn't played most of the DLC for ME2 yet so that was new) without choosing someone else, then got the achievement for rekindling like super-early on the Citadel. It was actually pretty anti-climactic ;).

Tali
Kelly

Garrus
Thane
Jacob
Kelly

My Sheploo romanced Liara in ME1 and Tali in ME2, though reconciled things with Liara during LoTSB and working on continuing the romance in ME3. My femShep romanced Liara in ME1, had no LI in ME2 and rekindled things with Liara in LoTSB, with the relationship continuing into ME3 (once I get to that point).

There's lots more romance options in ME3, though that's spoiler territory. ;)

Yeah, in my original playthrough I chose Miranda and was aware of Jack. I guess I didn't know about Tali at all which is odd since I remember reading through (and probably posting) in the ME2 thread back then. I played it when it first came out and even did an Insanity run right afterwards as well. I talked to Tali plenty (as I talked to everyone) and it just never came up for me - how odd...

Shrike - go ahead and spoiler list it for me. I'd like to know what others there are in ME3. I think someone mentioned Allers. She got flirty with me but I guess I didn't follow it up. That was all that ever happened, I guess, since it seems everyone knew about Liara (well at least Javik did ;)).

I guess if I ever do an Insanity run I can explore some other options. Had I known Tali was even an option in ME2 I would have done that in my recent ME2 playthough. I did that whole game again after ME3 came out so I could get the "right" ME1 save to ME3. The big difference being that I saved the Rachni in this save and not in the one that I used for my original and secondary Insanity ME2 playthough. Yeah, like I said earlier, that was pretty much a waste of time as I expected that to have huge consequences :roll:.

In other news, got the Veteran achievement last night from multiplayer. So I was just over 1000 kills at the end of SP. Then apparently I have gotten 4000 more in just over a week of multiplayer ;). All I have left now is the weapon upgrade (and I'm at IX on my base assault rifle in MP) and the two Insanity/Gold ones.

I earned enough cash last night for one final Premium Pack - got two "rare" weapons, interestingly enough, and no characters. One was that new Krogan assault rifle and I can't even remember the other - probably my 6th or 7th sniper rifle. I guess I should learn to use those and make a character build that suits them - though I don't think I've ever used one in any ME playthroughs. I may use that new assault rifle if I play tonight. I'm tired of the ol' Avenger.
 
There's a good article on IGN about where the mass effect series could go from here, as far as interesting points in time that we already know a little about, but are ripe to be explored. Gotta say, they covered all of the ideas I had. Decent article. (Sorry no link, I'm on my phone now).
 
Man, I wish there was some type of spawn shield because it sucks getting insta stabbed by a phantoem before you even get a chance even stand up. I try to wait until after people walk away from by body but sometimes they like to break out the firewood and camp on my corpse.

Also...when you get a higher version of a weapon what does it exactly do? I noticed it helps with weight but damage, fire rate etc etc? I always try to look but it never seems to help with stats.

First, the free US Army game you're thinking of was called America's Army and was developed around the Unreal engine. That's probably why you feel the similarity. AA actually wasn't bad, esp for being a free recruiting tool, although I spent most of the time in that game waiting to respawn watching people play the game lol.

Agreed, this was me as well and felt very limited with this fight. (I mean one could say you're fighting that enemy but you know that's a poor excuse in my book.) It's kind of hard not to resist when, you know you can see Liara (one could argue though that the mystery is the allure of Tali), as they improved on her character model and art style after the LotSB, and she's got some of the best writing in the game being such a powerful/influential character. I had Tali as my LI in ME2 but then I was really touched by the transformation and character growth of Jack so I had her as my LI in ME2, then ME3. Yeah I had Tali but then went to Jack and that was the save file that was transferred I guess.

See that was the thing that kind of irked me was that the limitation of romance options is non-existant in ME3. What I mean is you can be in a relationship, or just f, with anyone and then a potential LI in ME3 will say oh well it looks like you're with so and so but you can say nah baby you're the only one you know it (said in Bender's Pimp voice). I mentioned this on MSUHitman's Checkmate Arcade ME3 Spoilercast, as it kind of dilutes who you pick as the LI throughout the series. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Still have plenty of imports to pick other decisions, different love interests and whatnot but I'm waiting for the summer extended ending "closure & clarity" dlc to see if my time with the series would be fulfilled.

I completely agree. Can't count how many times I've been nailed by a Phantom or Banshee, just spawn camping. I get up and BAM! Already in the animation for the insta-kill. Almost makes me feel like using medi-gel is worthless sometimes.

As for what Weapon Levels do...

Taken from the Mass Effect Wiki:
Upgrades decrease weapon weight and increase reserve ammo capacity, damage and accuracy.
 
I kind of like the regular Spectre packs. It was always such a disappointment when I got two crappy rares from the Premium pack. With the regulars, it's just one crappy rare :lol:

Sometimes you kind of wonder if you get more bang for your buck going with the standard Spectre pack due to not blowing your cash as much as you do with the Premiums lol.
 
i prefer the standard packs for the higher frequency of getting equipment vs. an rare. while getting credits is more and more routine, it like seeing my shots firing off incinerate or freeze the enemy. eye candy, joy puke, and of course it's actually effective. (plus the +5 cobra missiles, medigel, etc is nice too).

I have been missing the extra equipment. My medigels dropped below 100, so I started to panic.

Geth Hunter build is taking some getting used to. Ended up fully speccin' Proxy Mine for the extra damage/expose bonus. I just need to get more consistent with landing it. I've known it's been bugged since the beginning with not going off when set as a trap, but when you can hit an enemy with it point blank it's pretty awesome. Only downside is that my shields are reduced by about 300 from my last build. Just gotta get used to being a real glass cannon now.

Justicar has grown on me. Choke-pointing with the sphere is too good. Played her with two other Asari Adepts and an Infiltrator. Fireworks everywhere. Ran a few golds with her and felt pretty good.

Between Reach, Gears 3, ME3, MW2...I miss over shield, sprint, jump, cover, tali's voice over, combat roll, jetpacks, combat shotgun, plasma sword...the list goes on.

I think the only thing that's consistant is Keith David. (almost)

Yeah I believe I got my +1 to Cobra Missile Capacity with the Premium.

I too am down on Special Ops so was getting the lower packages as well.

I've been accused of "stealing kills" when using the Krogan Vanguard... I'm just using melee on everything in my path... sorry if you were busy taking potshots from across the map
 
Can anyone who hasn't received their Commendation Pack from the Raptor event check their registered game content on BSN to see if it shows up? I'm rather curious because even the notification for it is nowhere to be found despite the fact I promoted 3 - 4 characters that f*cking weekend. Yet the Resurgence event award is locked in for both Xbox AND the PC (which is odd considering the fact I don't own a PC copy).

At this point I'm convinced I'm either never going to get one or receive glitched packs in multiples and eventually get temp banned for their screw up. I pray those who abused the CP glitch get banned for it.

GG btw Got in case I forgot to mention it before I bounced.

N7 rating once it reaches a collectively accepted level, is pretty much useless...so long as we get paid, I don't care if I come in last or get assists all day.

it's because you took a hiatus on playing I managed to find 2 dedicated groups that want to play in the name of batarian beauty nightly. Since we last played together I've promoted...4 lvl 20's. 2 of them for the weekly.

I still only have a black widow I, no javelin, and finally got my geth plasma shotgun yesterday.
 
If people were only a little faster at killing enemies, wouldn't mind sitting back and letting them take out everything until we get to the objective waves.

The Geth shotty is pretty nuts on the Geth Infiltrator. I kinda forgot that he gets extra damage on G-weaps.

I have to be strong and not jump on tonight. I got freelance on the line.

that's not really the right attitude...I'm a time saver, I'll missile if it means we save 4 minutes trying to take down 2 banshee and a brute. ppl for some reason are more willing to use 2-3 medi gel vs 1 well placed missile.

it's only 5%, but for some reason it seems to make a noticable difference. (i suppose 5% of a damage bar that is maxed is a lot)

Word. Your boy getting grabbed in full cloak was especially hilarious. I'm positive every death was by the same Banshee too on some Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth shit. She obviously ate her Wheaties today. Then again some of those teleports were frighteningly accurate as well, but I can't say we weren't due for a catastrophe of some sort. We went like 7 - 8 waves with no one being downed (even the random rocking a Krogan Soldier was doing work).

Marauders however are slowing creeping on a tie with Geth Hunters for the Most Annoying Enemy Ever award for me. I lost count of how many were flanking us using Ravagers as diversions and later cases... shields. Assholes.

One thing will be doing later today is exhausting my stock of Incendiary Ammo mods on my Soldiers. My god... has today proven without a shadow of a doubt how garbage it is are compared to AP, Cryo and Disruptor.

Lots of smg buffs, revenant gets buffed again along with a bunch of other ARs, the heavier pistols get buffed...but of course the standout is the tiny decoy nerf hidden at the end
 
I got my Victory Pack and it contained 2 new characters. I got a Resurgence Pack and it contained 1 new character.

What's the best way to go about buying Packs, anyway? Like, the best value?

I'd suggest buying recruit packs until you are consistently getting only character cards and then moving on to veteran packs and then to spectre if you don't have your basic guns maxed.

Can you get a base weapon (say Avenger Assault rifle) to X with Recruit packs? Mine has been stuck at IX for a while. So once you max out all the weapon upgrades with Recruit you will only get character cards? I guess I'll go that route then.

Yea you will pretty much hit a point where you will only get character cards, by that point most of your basic weapons will be close to X. When you get to this point for veteran packs your common and uncommon weapons will probably all be maxed.
 
Now that the Resurgence Pack is live I can FINALLY spend the 2 million in credits I've been hoarding this entire time. Thank God. I got lucky in scoring a Batarian Soldier in the event pack but STILL no Commendation. Weeeeeeak. I love how the already marginally useful drones get caught up in the unnecessary Decoy nerf crossfire (if people want to farm Geth/Whitebase let them) though I'm overjoyed for buffing spree the devs have been on lately. Long over due. I wonder how many people paid enough attention to the notes to catch the Paladin screw up with encumbrance. Hopefully it's actually worth using now. I'm looking forward to testing it, the SMGs and Phaeston out in a few.

all the wpn dmg upgrades are great, it's really just saying biotic explosions, tech bursts, and sniper rilfes are the only viable choices in gold.

so basically we just need to play with 2...2 salarian engineers now...ah ah ah ahhhhhh.

they should just make the collector rifle whatever it should be at X because, i haven't seen anyone able to level it up yet and it's kinda crappy at level 1 on gold.

What do you mean by character cards? Training cards? Or the Class Unlocks? Because I'm getting at least 1 Training card per pack right now (Well except that last one, I got an Avenger VI).
 
Waaaa? So I went to find a game and it put me in one that was already in progress. Which is great but I don't know if I did it by clicking something different or if it's automatic now.
