I chose the orange version that killed off the synthetics to save the organics. This made the most sense given how I played, despite having to kill off the Geth since I chose to have them cooperate with the Quarian.
1.) I have no issues with the Catalyst Kid as I see him as a VI construct within the Catalyst that uses an image familiar to Shepard. The Catalyst would have been a Prothean in Javik's cycle for instance.
2.) Yeah, how did they get back on the Normandy? That's a little stupid.
3.) Since I picked the orange ending I got the Shepard breath scene. Now, good sci-fi is supposed to leave a lot to the imagination and not spoon feed everything. To that end, I think of this not as a gasp for breath, but rather a death rattle. The hero has concluded his quest and can now find peace in death sort of thing.
Also, people seem to thin of this has happening in London, I like to think of it as being on the Citadel still.
4.) Buzz Aldrin not shouting at the moon? Nah, I liked it, that was a really nice moment.
5.) Maybe it was on the wiki or something, but I've read somewhere that the galaxy can still be navigated and crossed without the relays. Thus, the aliens aren't stranded in the Earth solar system and can still get back home.
All in all, I liked the ending and I'm at peace with it. The people in an uproar seem to blend into either a "Please explain everything to me" category or a "I've thought this over so much that I can't get out of this logical corner" which goes against the principles of sci-fi we've had since the beginning of the form. Finally, the complainers also voice concern over the lack of closure. Well, based on my ending there's nothing to close. It's the beginning of a new cycle without Reapers.
you have lidless eyes, shouldn't be a problem.
Good point.
I'm curious, how high did people get their EMS ratings up to? I think I'm up in the middle 4000s, and have a number of stops to make during Act 2. I've seen some posts elsewhere that says you could get up as high as 10,000 though most people haven't made it up any higher than in the 7000s.
No MP to speak of at the moment, though I think I'm going to get close to the endgame, do some MP to get my Readiness up to 100% and then do the endgame. With the small amount of time per week that I've had, it'll likely be around the time that Extended Cut drops.
no idea how ppl are getting EMS up to 7000+, mine was around 4k-5k end game on normal. Maybe difficulty level multiplies that? I'm guessing 7000+ means you used a guide and scanned every system for 100% war assets and made every decision to maximize the EMS.
I'm playing hardcore/soldier ME2 import right now...my EMS seems to be going up steadily but I've learned from the PT1 (non import)
I'll be probably just be doing Firebase White runs tonight. I want to make sure I'm maximizing credit income, and that map's essentially a sure thing. Any other night I'm more than happy to help you guys knock out some gold maps though.
I'll also probably run Salarian Engie all night, so as long as we have an infiltrator (or just move in groups) for the run-and-hack objectives, you guys can play whatever you like.

I guess i'm not doing Gears 3 tonight.
I'll be mixing it up between the infiltrator and 2 other classes probably based on our squad dynamic. I'd like to get some levels for my lowers. Biotic explosions to follow for certain...and if we're not doing as well, I still have the 20th Adept to bring out and smacketh.
also...does the extended thermal clip actually do anything for any sniper rifles? I'd imagine it would for the Raptor and maybe asshat Inscissor, but it didn't seem to give me extra shots in the clip for the valiant, black widow, or viper.
I always use the enhanced ammo cap for my Widows. No question. I find after a while, you can guess where Centurions are through the smoke anyway; no real need for the scope on any other faction.
Also, it won't increase the clip itself, but your ammo reserve instead.
I actually need to level my Vanguard back up for when I start playing Kroguard exclusively. Kinda forgot about that.
Savin' up dem credits for tomorrow. If any of you guys want to grind out some gold later, let me know. My Salarianengie/Firebase White runs are pretty much down to a science now. Even with mic-less randoms!
I'm down if you need me. Send me a friend request.
My assets were up around 7600. Normal difficulty, imported a me1/me2 save with all loyal squadmates, did every mission and quest possible. To get to 8K I'd just have to
save mordin.
that's all I can think of that I didn't or couldn't do.

Better get all those games in before nerf
I'm kind of interested in what "balance" changes are happening tomorrow

I wanted to save him but in order to do that, I'd have to re-play ME2. I hate how some characters were so easy to save, and others required you to have jumped though all the right loops and holes.

I have far more confusion towards this than hate.
Compare it to the rachni queen. No matter what you do, it's there. Save it, kill it, talk to it on Illium... the rachni queen is there. According to the SA interview a few pages back it's because Bioware didn't want to lock you out of anything based on past actions.
But then... Mordin. His survival is based on a rather convoluted set of choices spanning three games. That seems pretty inconsistent with what was stated in the interview.
Now, you could argue that the difference there is that the rachni mission was a Pretty Big Deal time-wise whereas Mordin is just a matter of a couple cutscenes and an EMS boost.
But then I would argue that the rachni mission was mostly busy-work, anyway. A whole lot of ing around with an incredibly ineffective heavy weapon and wondering where Link was.

I didn't realize that curing the genophage on Tuchanka is a "go directly to Act 2, do not do any more side quests, go to the Citadel" mission, so there were a few minor side quests that I couldn't complete because the people I had to meet with weren't on the Citadel any longer.
. We'll see what I end up with the time the game's over, and certainly lesson learned for playthrough #2.
Ha! Good one. I'm partially to blame for the influx of posts. I'd been staying away until I beat the game so now I'm all "hey gang lets chat!!"
I'm up for more games tonight, though I don't think I'm ready for any gold ones yet. Maybe I could try Silver though. I've noticed how some maps are much, much harder. I got a completely new one last night after 20 or so random maps - strange how that is. I forget what it is called but it was in a bunch of trailer/lab things. That one with Reapers is a pretty tough one even on Bronze, expecially when you end up with 2 Brutes and a Banshee on your ass. In one game I was the last one left, which is a scary proposition . I had just started out on my Asari Adept too, so was only level 7 or so.

I had exactly the same thing happen. I couldn't do the Benning one (even though I saw the info on my Spectre Requisitions shop) and a few others just went dark. I don't like how the list shows them "completed" even when you didn't complete them - it should show a little more info on whether you were successful or not and what the outcome was (since some have multiple possibilities).
Still, I'm definitely in the 7000's. I need to restart from the mission before the final mission, though, apparently, to get the achievement for War Assets now that my readiness was 100% (though it seems to drop a few percent overnight).
Planning on replying to a few things later tonight. Going to hit the gym after work for a bit and then hop on late night for some gaming. Can anyone tell me if the Premium Spectre Packs are still online today? I had 75K so I could buy one (which would be my third), but now I'm thinking about holding credits for tomorrow. What really gets me is that I still don't have a Krogan!

6 spectre packs in a row netted a Claymore V...and still no krogan soldier.
i'd say wait, you want the new class/races more than wpns anyway.
I had the one Cerberus investigation on the Citadel quest which became glitched on me. I couldn't hand in my quest as the NPC wouldn't be selectable. I was pissed.
I'm also pretty sure it's not because of the situation on the Citadel later on with Cerberus.
I can't remember what my EMS was at the time though.
i hope they get the community and other reward packs in order, i still haven't gotten my 2 pac of shakur yet...but then again...maybe it will include one of the new race/classes. O . o

Dude, we're Claymore X bros. We gotta Krogan some shit up.

I did finish that Benning mission, though the other random ones on the station at that time
(heating units, Barla Von's mission and one other random one)
I just recently unlocked both Krogans (in one single Premium Spectre Pack) so I haven't been able to enjoy the melee-tastic experience until now.
I had a ton of MSP to burn through when I bought the game so I spent them on Spectre packs hoping to unlock an Asari Adept (easily my favorite class from the demo) ... after about 15 Spectre Packs (some with MSP, some with credits) I couldn't unlock another species to save my damn life. I did however net an N7 Valiant from one. Too bad I suck at sniping.

I got both the Asari Adept and a Krogan in my second Premium Spectre pack - guess that was pretty lucky. I still don't have a Turian, Salarian, or Quarian though.
I played as the Asari Adept last night after promoting my initial Human Male Sentinel. I'm not used to being so weak (low health, shields, and melee) so it is taking me some getting used to. I guess I need to get that Statis bubble unlocked ASAP - I've seen people use that pretty effectively.

Wait... so...
even if you choose to kill the rachni queen in the first game, it doesn't die?
Does anyone have battlefield 3 that can help me? I'm trying to get the soldier dlc, I have the online pass but don't have a disc to pop in and log in with. I would be very grateful!
I really found that disappointing. I was hoping to see more Rachni fighting in the end,

As far as the general endgame - not the ending, the endgame - goes, that was my big disappointment.
No krogan riding dinosaurs. No turian snipers being saved by volus bombers. No elcor siege batteries. No rachni swarming over enemy harvesters. No... anything, really, to reflect what you'd done.

Agreed, if you did the side quest
where you found the "Kakliosaur" fossil I had pictured at least a few Krogan to be charging on them like a badass Warhammer sequence. If you didn't recover the fossil, yeah the devs would just cut that part out.
Finally beat the last map I needed for Tour of Duty. I'm still level 18 though. But I'm going to bump up to Silver for a while, unless I can get someone to help me do all 6 Maps on Gold.

Yeah, that was disappointing considering some of the other moments in the rest of the game
the thrasher maw vs the Reaper was pretty badass, if a bit short
. I kinda wonder if it wasn't time and/or money, and instead BioWare just decided " it, this game's gonna sell like crazy anyway! Let's just spend the rest of our time hyping it up some more!!".
got some good geth gold in...so many ppl tried to kick me when I played a vanguard. dood, shockwave rocks when everyone is teching the crap out of geth. It goes through walls. Then I finally switched to an asari adept, 2 @#$% infiltrators kept sniping my warp target beofre I could detonate them w/a biotic explosion. wtf man...then my wifi drops me due to lag. bleh...waste of 8 waves.
I think we farmed 230k, hoping for those new race/classes.
Will be interesting to see if/how they nerf the geth, firebase, and decoy.
I got my Soldier to Level 20 and I sent them off into nothing (Unless they actually do go into SP like the game mentioned; but I doubt it). So now I have a Level 3 Engineer to use for leveling and whatnot. I haven't touched the SP in about 5 days though.
I've done 2 of 6 maps on Silver as well, so that's good. Silver is kind of tough actually.
