BUFF ALL THE THINGS! - MP Balance Changes:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
May 16, 2012
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eagle Heavy Pistol
- Damage increased from [60.9-76.1] to [67.0-83.8]

Hurricane SMG
- Damage increased from [93.2-116.5] to [102.5-128.1]

Crusader Shotgun
- Damage increased from [442.1-552.6] to [486.6-608.3]

Indra Sniper Rifle
- Damage increased from [54.1-67.6] to [62.6-78.2]

Singularity Power
- Fixed a bug where the base duration that enemies are held in the air was still 3 seconds.
Should now be 6 seconds, as the April 24 changes specify.

Geth Horde Wave Data
- (Gold) Wave 6: reduced number of Hunters from 4 to 2
- (Gold) Wave 6: increased number of Rocket Troopers from 2 to 3
- (Gold) Wave 6: added a single Geth Prime
- (Gold) Wave 10: reduced number of Pyros from 4 to 3
- (Gold) Wave 10: increased number of Geth Primes from 2 to 3

Card Data
- 255 max cap on ammo, medigel, rockets, shields - they should grant equipment items instead if maxed
- Respec cards are now uncommon rather than rare
- Increasing XP bonuses for character cards

I especially love them making Geth easier to farm on Gold (CRI MOIR BSN) and respec cards becoming uncommon now. Hilarious. I finally have a reason to buy Vet Packs again. LOL @ the Hurricane buff. My Turians are going to be monsters now, but I'm still not going to be using the Indra nor Eagle anytime soon.
The Eagle buff made me laugh (and cry, since I have it and it still probably sucks). The Indra buff made me laugh HARD. Hasn't the Indra been basically "free" to PC players, but only now do they choose to buff it. When it's finally been released for 360/PS3. Sad.

Not really surprised Silencer failed. Exorcist was 1 million Phantoms and the community only hit about 1.5 million. What made them think the community could do 3 million? This sure as hell isn't CoD. To be fair, that one Gold match I played with Inky probably had about 100,000, so we did our part

I think buffing the N7 wpns is a good idea mainly because, leveling it up will be hard...so what's the point of a lvl 1 Indra when you can just use a lvl X Avenger w/a scope. The free PC Indra still required ppl to register an account with Nvidia or something, so yeah free but there's a step for lazy ppl to take.

As for Silencer failing, I was under the impression the 3 million count was across both platforms. PS3 + Xbox's progress. Oh well...3 million anything outside of geth or swarmers is asking a lot, esp when a bunch of games recently released.

Indra was only free to PC as a singleplayer DLC.

Commendation Packs are available and I'm now the proud owner of DAT HURRICANE III BWOY. I see a whole lot of dead people, synthetics and monstrosities alike in my future.

Haven't gotten mine. Will wait until later tonight to see if I got borked.

To be fair, I got it in the very last hour, thanks in no small part to Inky.

...Ouch. I guess my bad luck for these events rubbed off on you. Your best bet is to hit up EA Help Support via the official website. I know wouldn't have gotten my Raptor Pack otherwise.

I'll give it until tomorrow. If there's still no pack tomorrow, then I'll hit them up.

Besides, even if I don't get my pack, that last Reaper Gold match was hella fun. That would be worth missing out on the pack (but I'd rather have both).

Word. I'd definitely rank that match as my personal undisputed number one. I haven't had that much fun playing mp since GoW2 with my old crew. I hope they plan to announce a release date for Rebellion soon because I'm down to playing one match per favored class then moving onto something else. Boredom is seriously starting to burrow in and make a home here.

Plus I've noticed that I've lost all patience for incompetence when comes to randoms. I don't even try to pick up people anymore in my hosted games man... haha. It's nice going down every once in a blue moon now.

basically the same thing except "DAT VALIANT III BWOY." I'm pretty pleased with that. While I'm alittle bummed out I missed the previous commednation pack...being in hawai'i for that week trumps that reward.

...I hate the both of you in the nicest possible way a man could hate two other men for obtaining in game weaponry that he clearly will never possess in this lifetime or the next.

Oh well... I could have easily been a member of the Eagle III Failclub so I'd best keep my mouth shut before this game gets any particularly diabolical ideas.

you'll get it...it may take a few months but there's only so many N7 wpn type they hand out in the commendation packs. I'm sad panda it could have been a Valiant IV. it's kind of a shame the packs expire.
ME2's wins for me. My girlfriend and I do it at social events constantly.
My wife and I still do it at home. All of which have produced our 3 daughters.

Got another N7 Valiant in my comm pack. Cool to get a dupe, to level it up. Not cool in that I don't care for that weapon. My Mantis X is still more powerful. These commendation packs are starting to suck.

don't say that, Ink will hate you with more hatred in the nicest possible way. Of course the Mantix X is still more powerful, it's X'd...and a 1 shot, reload sniper rifle. The only sucky part of the commendation rewards pack is, you get them every 2.5 weeks...and you have to be online to redeem it in the window of time before it expires.

I used to be just like him. Didn't see all the fuss about the Valiant because there were other more powerful sniper rifles, like the Widow and Mantis. Until I actually tried it.

i like it for the fast reload most, the satisfying sound it makes when you fire and hit makes the experience just better.

i've actually been using the avenger more lately just because gold levels have been more about tech and biotic combos than anything, if you're headshoting things with a sniper rifle or slamming them w/a high powered shotgun, every other wpn seems to be just meeting the requirement to get into the club. that i'm so sick of listening to the geth pulse rifle and too lazy to mattock the enemy some nights.

They could bring back the entire cast of all three games (including the ORIGINAL Refund Guy and "You Humans are all racists!" ME2 Turian), but if the writers fail to come up a reasonable explanation for the Starchild bullshit it won't change a thing for me.

I still don't think they can make up for that. I never thought I could be more disappointed in a series than the Matrix Trilogy, or more so the Star Wars Prequels. But at least those were only a few hours of my life I lost to be greatly disappointed. Mass Effect has taken days of my life to disappoint me. Fortunately I've been playing it on the Playstation 3, so I didn't have to lose more time to the first game.

I just cannot imagine how the developers sat there, especially watching the final minutes of the game, and felt that this was a quality product. Even with the lame ending of Gears of War 3, or that whole story it has, at least I wasn't given the illusion of choice and consequence. All I could do in that game was kill and die. Mass Effect's whole selling point is how decisions actually affect the game, as well as the sequels.

The only way they could actually improve the current ending is if the voice actors are brought back in to add a final cut scene that shows them all laughing at you for holding onto your copy of the game, waiting for an extended ending, while their characters roll around in a pile of money. At least then I'd feel like Bioware genuinely was laughing in my face...

I only felt better after the ending of the game when I saw that the Trade-In value on Amazon was $25, and I paid $30 for the game. At least I'm only losing $5. I guess that's a positive. Bioware joins Epic as a studio I can no longer buy games from.

I think its very promising that Hackets back in the extended ending. That means, to me, that there will be some depth to the dlc. Not just "here's Tali sulking" or superficial quick passes at the squadmates post end.

I like it for all those attributes, but mainly because it can put powerful shots down range in a short period of time. Once the gun spoke for itself, I never doubted it again and it has yet to let me down.
Funny that Henriksen compared the ending of the trilogy to a Game Over screen in terms of the satisfaction it brought to players. Pretty astute observation for a guy who pretty clearly isn't very into games.
Henriksen is actually a big gaming fan, and with the 1,000,000 sci fi movies hes done work on, the guy knows his way around the medium and its downfalls and pinnacles. But c'mon, refusing to buy games from a franchise for stuff like this is only robbing yourself of all the goods.

I've got my first multiplayer character up to level 20 and starting a new one; what equipment should I be looking for (I prefer using assault rifles/sniper rifles), and do you guys think the premium Spectre pack is more worth while than the regular one?

My level 20 turian sentinel is pretty proficient at killing stuff w/ the warp/overload combo and a Geth pulse rifle, but the human soldier I just started is awful even on bronze.

Just finished the game a couple nights ago. I actually reallly liked the ending if the
Indoctrination Theory is true. Epic story telling by Bioware if it is indeed the case. Even before watching and reading about the Indoctrination theory I thought the little boy was off when I first played the demo. I thought it was weird that Anderson didn't hear him and that nobody notice or acknowledge that the boy was there during the escape from earth.

For whatever it's worth,
BioWare has pretty much denied the Indoctrination Theory. They have said that the Extended Cut is going to add and clarify, not contradict or change anything that's already been depicted.

I've never been sure why everyone has been up in arms about the ending. Obviously everyone is entitled to their opinion but I just didn't understand the outrage. Did everyone not choose the "perfect" ending?

If you got your Readiness Rating above 4,000 and chose the red side on the Citadel Shepard lives, the Reapers get wiped out, Earth is saved, and your squad lives albeit on another planet. I guess it's frustrating that the Relays are always destroyed but isn't the rest pretty good? As a father I found the stargazer storytelling touching and it doesn't really imply that everything is just a story.

After committing 6 years to Lost I think I'm immune to being bothered by dramatic endings. Even so, I really thought the events of that ending were pretty good.

I did about 50 levels of multiplayer and am currently on a break. It would be fun to play with you guys sometime and maybe tackle the Gold challenges ever. The Battlefield 3 soldier is pretty neat with the Incinerate ability added.

About that
your crew member was there with you running towards the beam so they couldn't be in the Normandy. I think that is why everybody is upset, the ending just make no sense but with the Indoctrination theory it would explain why everything is so mess up at the end.

Reminds me of how Halo 2 ended where you don't really get a resolution, but that is why there is DLC and maybe Mass Effect 4.

Bioware hasn't really denied anything outright. They presented some vague wording at PAX and on BSN, basically saying that the fact that such an in depth theory is out there reflects on the quality of the fan base. Otherwise it's been primarily "no comment"

The biggest problem is they didn't even address the Indoctrination Theory. When BioWare doesn't even talk about it, then that says a lot about how they see it. Until they do admit to its existence, the "theory" stays just that and nothing more.

I'm not arguing that it's not a theory. I'm just saying it's been brought up numerous times and Bioware has danced around it. So like Ryu said, we'll see how everything fits when the extended cut is out.
I'm not either for or against the IT, but I do think it's fascinating. I love reading about it and seeing whatever crazy theory might be discussed. This new info is probably making something out of nothing, but it's pretty damn interesting.
This sums up my feelings on the subject exactly. If I was in charge at Bioware, I wouldn't comment either. Why remove that major element of mystery?

Thank you for posting that. I watched the video and really gave it some thought. As I stated earlier, I only played 2 and 3 because I have them for the PS3. I'm now curious how much I missed by not playing the first game.

I know Ryuukishi already pointed out that Bioware hasn't really made clear what to make of the Indoctrination Theory['s], but this actually changed my view of the game.

If this is really part of the ultimate outcome, that really the final battle is a subtle mind game, not some over the top boss fight, it makes me appreciate the game so much more, and I would proudly retract my previous comments. Clearly I looked at the game on the surface, and didn't see much deeper into it.

I chose Synthesis when I played because it was the middle choice, and I regreted it when the cut-scene ran. It left no choice, and destroyed individuality, which is what it seemed [my] Sheperd was always fighting for. But I believed the idea that destroying the Reapers would destroy the galaxy (and in part it did/does still seem valid, as all of the creatures in the galaxy are still prone to wars and killing rather than diplomacy...it did take 'you' to resolve many of the galaxy's conflicts, even in the risk of extinction without cooperation). It actually stunned me when the video pointed out that it might have been one last trick by the Reapers, and that I fell for it.

Having looked at that video though, I'm still curious about the choices;
-If destruction is valid, did that kill the Reapers? Or did you just free yourself from their control, so you died without becoming a puppet?
-Since they pointed out the blue eyes of Indoctrination, does that imply that the Illusive Man was always indoctrinated? Is that why he lured you out to the Collectors in Mass Effect 2?
-I assume Anderson is still alive, then. It did bother me that in the game he said he made it in after you, yet somehow beat you to the panel...this helps explain that.
Part of media, art, and anything creative is interpretation. I didn't enjoy the game when I initially completed it, but having watched that video, it pointed out so many things I missed and/or was unaware of. It's changed my interpretation of the game, even if it was not the interpretation Bioware intended, and has actually made me appreciate the game more.

What if the ones who came up with Indoctrination Theory are indoctrinated themselves?! In all seriousness, how can he say the Mass Relays blowing up (taking the systems with them, according to Arrival) is considered visions of "hope"? Also, the video takes one too many liberties with things, like assuming everyone played Arrival, LotSB, and other bits of DLC (good narrative, but it SUCKED compared to LotSB). BioWare doesn't have the luxury of assumption.

In the end though, well made video. I don't agree with a lot of what was said (plot holes in what was said as well), but I admire the time and effort it took to create that.

In the VERY end though, I can't help but shake the feeling that EA's sticky fingers were somehow involved. You can argue with me and that's fine, but EA has never meant well for the video game industry. EVER.
What is the best pack to get to unlock other races?
premium spectre pack gives you 2 rares, a better chance for an ultra, and it's also possible you'll get an uncommon or two. I've seen ppl get 3 class/race cards in one pack. I've gotten 2 myself.

...also depends on what race/class you're going for. If it's an uncommon race/class, then veteran packs will be better cost/chance wise.
