I was just there at lunch. On a large fries and their new chicken sandwiches, you get a Best Buy buck (worth $1 at Best Buy) guaranteed with a 1 in 3 chance of getting a $3 piece. You can use these in-store and online. You can only use up to $3 worth on a CD or DVD, but you should be able to use as many as you want on games. I ordered a large chicken sandwich meal and ended up with 2 $3 bucks and a free sandwich. Good luck!

EDIT:

HEre are the official redemption rules. Other than the $300 limit per visit, I see nothing in here that would prevent you from stacking them on games.

I am way to lazy to send out envelopes to get all these pieces, but next year I might try this method out since its a lot cheaper and healtier over actually eating that garbage from mcd's.

i wept silently yesterday when I ordered a large #2 and my fries had a BB buck but my soda just came with 2 lame no way of winning game pieces. It was my first order but I'm giving up.
It takes too long, I sent in one envelope about 2 weeks ago, still nothing.
Hrmm, each store is supposed to get 1 of those. I wonder which stores aren't getting any so they can be mailed out to FWers, hehe.

Just FYI -

I was in a Best Buy in NYC yesterday and some guy came in with $300 in BBB to buy a PSP. Customer Service totally came down on him asking him how he got $300 in BBB in just one week. He didn't answer. They allowed him to use $75 PER ITEM PER VISIT, so he couldn't get the PSP for free. Its in the rules apprently, they showed it to him. $300 in BBB? Come on, that's kinda stretching it I think...

So to all you BBB hoarders out there, just beware of this. And apparently, you can only use $75 per item per visit. So I guess you can keep walking in and out, but no free items over $75.

Not surprisingly, they (BB) weren't given a copy of the official rules. They're making up their own BS. Its $300 per customer, per visit. And whats the big deal about $300 in BB bucks? Thats pale in comparision to what FW'ers have accumulated so far.

Sorry if a repost, but I got the same schitck...I had 23 BB$ and tried to by a $45 DVD collection... they said $3 max per DVD/CD/Game purchase...they even had a nice print out of these "rules"... Not sure I understand why BB does a promotion it's legit and then comes up with a bunch of ways you can use it... I truly do hate BB. I'm sorry.

Don't know what to tell ya', it wasn't me making the call, it was Best Buy. I was just a customer. The rules I saw though didn't look like the one posted above. They may have additional regional or store specific rules for all I know. All I know is that guy wasn't allowed to redeem $300 worth, he was limited to $75.
Just FYI -

Not according to the rules, and the only significance of $75 is that they'll take down your personal information when you make the purchase. It is $300 per customer per visit.

I won't requote them for sanity's sake, though they shouldn't have stopped the guy from getting the PSP. They broke their own rules. Which is why I keep a copy of the rules on my Palm, for easy review.
Sorry if a repost, but I got the same schitck...I had 23 BB$ and tried to by a $45 DVD collection... they said $3 max per DVD/CD/Game purchase...they even had a nice print out of these "rules"... It's not per game purchase, it's per CD & DVD purchase. Check the rules, games are exempt, and I'm sure they didn't mean to do it that way. Ended up quoting said rules from my Palm to the cashier, when they guy in front of me tried to use more than $3 on a CD purchase. I used $11 on a BB.com in-store pickup purchase (w/RZ card) and the same $11 (double-dipping them, in fact) for a cash purchase w/o my RZ card. No audit trail there, no issues with either purchase.

I hate how people change the rules for everything. Its like me telling my winning bidder on ebay that the shipping price for them will be $100 instead of $4 just because my auction didnt sell for the price i wanted it to.

They should just make one set of rules (the mcdonalds one) and follow that

If you bring the rules up, CSRs will likely tell you the following: "We reserve the right to change the rules" That's what I was told when I tried to cash in on (for the second time) the $90 off RAM+installation coupon a month or so ago. Only thing you're left with then is to call corporate, which I probably should have done, but I got lazy, and I was abusing something, so I chose not to. This on the other hand, would probably be something that a call to corporate could help with.

you should then say then i hold the right To change my mind about paying my credit card bill that i owe to best buy.. Rip off all of your clothes and run though the store naked : )

o and they wouldnt let him get a PSP cause you cant use the BB bucks on game systems

Errr... according to those rules posted, Best Buy shouldn't have let him use the BBB on the PSP *at all*..

"Cannot be used toward purchase of certain products and services, [...] video game hardware [...]"

Question though, the rules say "Single DVD".... Does this mean we can use BBB on Season sets?

From what I'm hearing, no luck with that, so far. Though it all depends on who you get. If you get someone who totally isn't in the know, you could probably use as many BBBucks as you like on even single DVDs, but that is seeming less and less likely as they have become more knowledgeable as the game has progressed.

I think the only way you can successfully double-dip is to:

1) Jot down the 17-digit codes on the BBB before using it.
2) Use cash for the in-store transaction.
3) Don't use your RZ card for the in-store transaction.
4) Do the BB.com order and the in-store order on the same day.
5) Don't break the $75 limit on either transaction.
6) Don't make it obvious you're trying to double-dip, so pick up the in-store pickup item (if in-store pickup) after you do the in-store purchase, so you can say "I threw away my BBB's after I made the purchase".
i dont think the computer system will allow it
I'm not sure if it does or it doesn't, though the two times I saw people use BBB's with CD's or DVD's, the cashier told them they couldn't use them before they did the transaction. Not sure if it would or it wouldn't.

I'm not trying to be an ass here, but isn't all this talk about double dipping with the BB bucks a little on the stealing side? I just get that uneasy feeling like I would be doing something wrong. I mean people are already sending in a thousand SASE to get BB bucks.

Don't get me wrong, I am usually the one to take advantage of computer glitches and misprints in ads, but this feels a little too sleezy.

I'm not passing judgement on any of you, I hate BB as much as the next guy, just wondering if anyone elses "maybe I shouldn't be doing this meter" is going off?

PS I do plan to send in a bunch of SASE to get a new Canon EOS Rebel XT! :bouncy:

Why do you need to do them on the same day?

And isn't it just safer to pay the $2 shipping to do a regular online order instead of a pick-up order? Those who enjoy living on the edge and/or screwing BB the most can attempt pick-up, of course...it just seems like they really couldn't catch you if you did a straight-up internet order. Unless you're using a bazillion codes at once and draw attention to yourself.

What exactly do you mean by "busted".....refuse the transaction? "Busted" sounds like he's in trouble. Only thing they can do is limit his use to $300 in coupons.....or if car stereos are excluded, refuse the use of any coupons.

Yes, it just means each individual DVD, not actual discs. They can be used on multi-disc sets, but only a $3 discount on each set.

My experience today:
Picked Trauma Center for the DS, went to the register. The girl working at that register (who looked like she was the mean ugly girl cute girls hang around to look better) scanned the game, and then looked at my BB bucks.
Her - "You can only use $3 worth"
Me - "Um...what? There's nothing in the rules that says anything about using only $3 on video games"
Her - "Yeah, you cant use all those (annoying laugh)"
Me - "(mock annoying laugh) yes I should. I'm gonna go ask customer service"

Bitch.

So i go to grab another copy of the game, and i have a CSR ask me how he could help. and he explained i could only use 3 tickets...wether they were $3 or $1. Yay, another opinion that doesnt help.

So i get to the CS desk, and i talk to the girl, who has no fucking clue whats going on, and gives up half-way through my explination and tells me to go show the clerk the BBB rules.

As i turn around to leave theres what seems to be an even higher level CSR agent, that talks to me, goes to check with someone above him, and tells me "Only $3 worth per game"..he was at least nice about it.

So i go to my car, and i call 1-888-best-buy . 8 minutes later i get a live CSR....who has a lack of english skills and basically sounds like an Indian version of the clerk i talked to earlier...boy was i pissed at that point. "Can i talk to someone above you, please? thanks." (took 10 minutes to get to that point)

10 minutes later on hold, i get an english speaking CSR, who right off the bat says he just looked the rules and that i am right in every way. He asks if the guy before offered to help further by calling a store or anything, and i said no. He then called the store for me, tald be to talk to "Blake" and got my info to send a $20 gift card to my house.

I was grinning like an idiot when i picked up my game :)

fuckers.

So that way, if I don't use 'em the same day, I can use them another time. Also, if I lose the pieces, I'm not fucked if I hadn't used 'em.

I did it same day just to make sure there wasn't enough time for them to do some back-end processing of the game pieces, since we speculated that they might do something like that. Apparently not.

I got the same thing today too... except I was told, it's only up to $3 dollars worth, so i was like "eh, whatever", since I was already doing a YMMV price match and this was the icing on the cake, so to speak.

More than $3 in BBB is NOT YMMV. IT IS FACT. Please, do not let these assholes fuck you over. call 1-888-best-buy and tell them exactly how thier promotion works. The man i talked to was "flabbergasted" at how unhelpful all of the CSR's were, both in-store and the one on the phone.

Thanks for the story. I'll be prepared when I hit BB again.

Has anyone had trouble with paying for a game using best buy bucks online? It sounds like it would be easier than working with annoying sales people for an hour just to buy a game.

if you guys are afraid of being shafted, you can just enter your codes online and prevent being hassled...just a suggestion
