Ten Second War is a top down shooter in which you control many units individually via a rewinding time feature such that you guide a small army in it’s mission of destroying everything in 10 seconds. You control them one at a time, and yet they act all at once.

Theme: Fantasy
Theme: Science Fiction
Theme: Superheroes

Duel Toys 2 is a fighting/RPG Fan-Game which features tons of different well known characters from various games/ comics/ movies and turn them into Dueling Toys!

It features more then 60 characters, from games like Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Mortal Kombat and even pop icons like Darth Vader and Michael Jackson. Each are represented exactly like they are in their original games! It also contains more than 10 original characters!

But to get all the characters you must travel the city of Green Grapes dueling and collecting Badges. So start playing right now, do you think you can get all the 60 Duel Toys?

Megazell's Comment - Though this is a beta the game is very polished with the exception of text issues. Some of the text bleeds to the end of the screen. There is also the inability to resize the window (if anyone can figure out how to make it fullscreen - let me know).

Zero 2

Adventure
Single Player - Yes
Multiplayer - No

Theme: Mystery

Described as a 'Myst style point-and-click adventure', ZERO2 is kato9's second Ludum Dare entry and a slightly creepy jaunt through a desolate and largely monochromatic world. It features a lot of first-person exploration, a decent delivery of the narrative and a rather obvious deficiency in the audio department. Atmospheric as the game is, it could have been so much better with a soundtrack of some sorts. Then again, given the time constraints, I suppose the oversight was pretty understandable. I'm also not so sure about the whole 'using an eye as a cursor' bit. Thanks to years of brainwashing, the presence of the eye left me with the vague, compulsive need to click on everything in sight.

Overall, though, ZERO2 is still a pretty good effort and definitely warrants attention. The game isn't outright horrifying but it has a way of getting right under your skin. - IndieGames.com

Lily

Shooter/Horizontal
Single Player - Yes
Multiplayer - No
Netbook Friendly

Theme: Science Fiction

Lily is a small horizontal shooter I did in 2007, I just wanted to see if I could make something R-type-ish.

The story is about two hippies in a nearby future who want to end all war. Chris Bannister is leading this project from his safe base while Tal Cooper goes out to fight war-hungry people, in this case fat general Montegrosso and his army. Being hippies they don't really want to kill anyone, so they invented bullets that turn things to flowers.

So that's what you do in this game, turn your enemies into flowers to get to the evil Montegrosso. It's just a simple shooter with semi-decent gfx. The open-source example of this will be put out by Clickteam at some point.

Retrobattle

Shooter/Platformer
Single Player - Yes
Multiplayer - No
Netbook Friendly

Theme: Science Fiction

Retrobattle is made to look and feel like the classic arcade-style NES games, such as Ice Climber and Clu Clu Land. Not only are the sprites limited to three colors each, but the scoring, increasing difficulty, and setup of the game makes for a challenging arcade experience that mixes various oldschool concepts. The thoroughly written manual tells you everything you need to know about playing the game. Note that playing on Skill 1 is pretty boring compared to the havoc of Skill 8, so it may seem slow at first. The manual may also seem a bit large, but playing the game is very simple.

The game creates a file called retrosave.sav in the same directory as the game, which keeps your highscore and control configuration.

Dog Game #1

Shooter/Arena
Single Player - Yes

Theme: Science Fiction

Daniel Blackburn's Dog Game #1 is all about survival, while causing an increasing sense of claustrophobia. The game is literally trying to close itself as fast as possible, as enemies cause the game window to move and shrink.

You use the arrow keys to rotate and thrust, and Space or Ctrl to fire. Any collisions with enemies (but not their bullets) freeze you and jump the screen around your desktop. The "splitters" are the most important enemies, as they are the ones that reduce the size of the window when their lasers touch the screen boundaries.

The UI is a little crude in that there is no menu. You also must re-run the .exe to restart, but that fits since the game's aim is to shut down the program. - IndieGames.com

Dungeon Door

RPG
Single Player - Yes

Theme: Fantasy

Dungeon Door is a fast isometric turn-based tactical RPG played in a classic dungeon crawl setting. It is a blend of a role-playing game (like Baldur’s Gate) and a tactical strategy game (like X-Com). However, it is also very simplified and stylized, so the average level takes less than 30 minutes to play. While accessible to casual gamers, it provides interesting strategic play for more serious players. The style is that of a tabletop adventure game (like HeroQuest), enhanced with elements of the digital medium – dynamic graphics and animation, automated calculations and bookkeeping, randomized maps and missions, and compelling AI.

You control a small group of heroes as they explore a series of increasingly dangerous dungeons. There are six distinct heroes, each with a unique set of abilities, but only four heroes are available in any given dungeon. Dungeons are randomly generated, and filled with monsters that have distinct abilities and behavior. Quest goals are also randomly determined, and might include killing a boss, finding a particular treasure, destroying a certain number of enemies, escorting an NPC to safety, or simply escaping within a given number of turns. As they explore each dungeon, players will find healing runes, keys that open doors and chests, and ability enhancing equipment.

Ancient Greek Punishment

Dr. Pippin Barr is back with another thoughtful, free experience, after treating us to The Artist is Present months ago. As described on Pippin's blog, Ancient Greek Punishment offers "delicious Greek torment as far as the eye can see and as fast as the fingers can type," telling the tales of Sisyphus, Tantalus, Prometheous, Danaids, and Zeno.

Your "G" and "H" keys will definitely be put to the test, as will your patience if you are unfamiliar with the inevitable tragedies of these Greeks. The five levels can be played in a few minutes, but I felt they collectively delivered a clever and educational experience.

While I was hoping for a little gore with the above Prometheous mini-game, I'd much rather have more games to help me remember the Greek stories. Give Pippin Barr's Ancient Greek Punishment a try and report back what you thought of the experience. - IndieGames.com

Cultivation

Simulation/Life
Single Player - Yes

Theme: Science

Cultivation is a game about a community of gardeners growing food for themselves in a shared space.

Cultivation is quite different from most other games. It is a social simulation, and the primary form of conflict is over land and plant resources---there is no shooting, but there are plenty of angry looks. It is also an evolution simulation. Within the world of Cultivation, you can explore a virtually infinite spectrum of different plant and gardener varieties.

All of the graphics, sounds, melodies, and other content in Cultivation are 100% procedurally generated at playtime. In other words, there are no hand-painted texture maps---instead, each object has a uniquely "grown" appearance. Every time you play, Cultivation generates fresh visuals, music, and behaviors

BulletZORZ
Bulletsss

Shooter/Platformer
Single Player - Yes
Multiplayer - No

Theme: Science Fiction

BulletZORZ continues my streak of puzzle platformers. In this one, you advance through the levels by using your gun, but not the normal way... I made this kinda like a challenge for myself - can I do a game in less than a week? In my own opinion this game came out quite well, and seems to be bug-free. The graphics style resembles games such as Crayon Physics, but (at least I hope that) the gameplay is totally original in Bulletzorz

Bulletsss is a sequel to BulletZORZ, and it keeps the main idea of the game but adds in some new features. In case you haven't played the prequel, Bulletsss is a puzzle platformer where bullets have an important role. The game has all the gameplay-related information in it, so you shouldn't have to take a look at the readme this time! Smirk from Modarchive composed the music, which is called 'sinetech'.
I've just got to ask, but where did you find dc vs capcom vc marvel?
The game comes with a readme titled 'Credits' that leads to http://amit.dabydeen.com. The primary link is from their website.

The secondary link has my edits on them with the removal of 2 broken combos - Megaman's Unlimited Uppercut (where his kick keeps sending you in the air until you die) and Flash's Non-stop punches.

The Cat That Got The Milk

Puzzle
Single Player - Yes
Multiplayer - No
Netbook Friendly

Theme: Other

The Cat that Got the Milk is an exciting two-button game for Windows and Mac from a group of developers: Ollie Clark, Helana Santos, Chris Randle, and Jon Mann. Players use two keys (default is up and down) to guide a forward-moving, tiny rectangle (the cat?) through 18 gorgeous, increasingly abstract levels.

Most areas morph as soon as you reach the exit, creating several exhilarating moments as you adjust to the new level. Chris Randle's music, which is free to download, and some lighting tricks add to the tension of the 10 to 15 minute experience.

I ran into a couple hiccups while playing, though. A few times my cat-tangle cursor went out of bounds but did not die and respawn immediately. Once I failed a stage a few times, the ever-present "press space bar to skip because you suck" message distracted me, too.

However, all is forgiven from me once I got the cat his or her milk. The gameplay itself may be nothing revolutionary -- Sophie Houlden's Swift Stitch seems to offer more variety mechanically -- but the audio-visual experience was well worth my time. - IndieGames.com

Adventure: The Inside Job

Adventure
Single Player - Yes
Multiplayer - No
Netbook Friendly

Theme: Science Fiction

Thalia James, member of the Earth Anti-Encroachment League for over twenty years, has contacted a bizarre disorder during an inspection of a distant planet. Now it seems that danger is always two steps behind her as she continues what she once considered a relatively mundane job. It seems as if there is something rotten in the state of the Milky Way...

That was the summarizing paragraph for the adventure game I was going to star in... before it got canceled.

However, for a game character, being canceled is hardly the end of the world. In fact, there's an entire universe beyond the one that you Outsiders see on your screens whenever you start playing our games... and for the first time, you're going to get a look at it...

In Adventure: The Inside Job, be prepared for a quest that takes you not through foreign realms or fantastic worlds, but through the games in the adventure genre.

Encounter familiar people and creatures, visit scenes that have up until now remained buried in their respective games' data files, and uncover a dark secret that could mean the end for this once great genre.

So what does it take to play control-wise? Can you hook up a controller to it? That video is amazing. Also, is there any free Diablo-esque game you could recommend?

You can play any and all PC games ever made via game pad if you want to.

That game comes with built in game pad support. If a game does not come with gamepad support you can still use a gamepad with it using a 3rd party program like the one below.
Software Spotlight

JoyToKey

This software is a keyboard emulator for joysticks.
It converts joystick input into keyboard input (and mouse input).

Use it when you want to control an application with joysticks that doesn't support joystick input. If you wish, you can control even Word, Excel, etc. with joysticks!

Megazell's Comment - Sometimes I take for granted all the little programs I dl and have installed to make PC gaming easier. This is such a program. I been using this one and variations of it for years. It helps a lot when you have games that should have gamepad support but don't. Must have for all PC gamers.

If you are looking for an ACTION/RPG like Diablo with click and attack features head to the first page of these thread and check out the RPG section there are quite a few there. There are also some MMORPGs that play like DIABLO.
I looked through most of the list and didn't come up with any in the RPG section that seemed to mimic Diablo or Titan Quest. Perhaps I overlooked something that you could recommend. Not really looking for an MMORPG, as i'm still happy with WOW.
Wow Megazell, keep them coming. Some of these games I've never even heard of.

EDIT: Are you sure that Aquadelic GT is free? I couldn't find a game download at the site you linked to.
I'm in the process of working on my own site with the game list and found this edited comment. I responded earlier before your edits.

Turns out the game got released in America as Powerboat GT and is no longer freeware.

Sorry for the delayed response.

Hey, just thought I'd pop in and say that Cartoon Networks pay-to-play MMORPG, FusionFall, went totally free last week. I like it, and do recommend it. It has a unique feature, where your level is determined by how many "Nanos" you own. Nanos are mini caricatures of Cartoon Network characters that give you unique abilities or help you out in some way. You're allowed to bring 4 Nanos with you into any given mission. It's fun on its own, but because it's Cartoon Network, you know it's safe for the whole family!

I should also mention that it goes pretty far back into their own unique characters. Everyone from Dexter, to Samurai Jack and the Powerpuff Girls, to the Kids Next Door, to more modern creations like Flapjack and Chowder.

My oldest kid plays that game quite often. She got some free Nanos during the 2008 NYC Comic con when they were promoting it.

Thanks for the update. I will check it out and put up a post on it :)
