There's no way that you can pass a game by that has the title 'Being Struck By Lightning is Probably the Best Way That You Could Die On Account of All of It's Awesomeness' and not try it out (although being a grammar fiend, the incorrect apostrophe made me let out a sort of 'gah' noise).

The game was created for Gamejolt's 'Shocking' Game contest. Gameplay-wise, the game extends about as far at its name in terms of sheer agonising design. Initially simple, the combination of tight jumping and evil level design make this the most keyboard-bashing experience I've had in a while. It's worth holding out and playing on when you feel like you can't take anymore, just to see how utterly harsh it really gets.

I really like the graphical style and the crazy music seems out of place and yet just right at the same time. Not sure how that works though. - IndieGames.com

Small, well-crafted indie games can be great about delivering unfiltered experiences. In Adam Saltsman's Canabalt, you ran and jumped until you couldn't any more. With Jason Rohrer's Passage, you wandered around a pixellated world that represented life's journey, meeting a spouse and making your way together until that stopped, as it ultimately has to.

The games speak to different things—-speed and excitement for one, emotional attachment and contemplation for the other—but it turns out that they still work pretty well when mashed up together. Developer Sergio Cornaga did exactly that, throwing the colorful, aging sprites from Rohrer's game into the grey, post-apocalypse of Saltsman's infinite runner.

It's surprisingly effective to watch your character age while bounding over rooftops. Things slow down and your jumps don't go as high. And, let me tell you, yours truly got a little choked up when I made a jump that my wife didn't. Check it out for yourself, but keep some Kleenex handy. - Kotaku.com

Invaders:Corruption is far from your average shooter.

Nearly everything you see in the game is procedurally generated, from the main ship to the baddies to the way the baddies move to the backdrops. When you begin the game, you're asked to enter a word - this word determines what your ship will look like. Bad guys spawn all over the screen, and will act differently depending on the characteristics they've been given - some may clump together and hide in the corner of the screen, while others will spawn and immediately surge towards you.

The first minute of play is a little dull, as you're given the bare minimum abilities and don't feel all that powerful. However, once the pick-ups start appearing and the intensity ramps up, it's really great fun. There are online leaderboards to climb too.

You can freely travel between different locations, read some theories and observe how things work inside this network of submachines. There are locations that you might recognize from previous submachine games, there’s a lot of new yet undiscovered content, there are even locations that you think you know, but they’re somehow different. Surely worth a look. The best part – it’s an open project, which means I can add more locations later on and it will all work together smoothly. So, tinfoil hats on and start exploring if you dare, because there are some dark places inside.

Megazell's Comment - The game is in Japanese but seems pretty inutive on what you need to do. Z is jump, X is shoot and arrow key are movement. You can bend down also. Lots of fun. The beginning levels have text that appear to help you learn the game but again that's it Japanese. It's just telling you what I already wrote.

Excavatorrr was originally made for Ludum Dare 15 48-hour competition, but I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to finish it properly. The result is here, and I'm quite happy of it! The game resembles a little bit Spelunky, that roguelike-platformer everyone loves, though not much. Also be sure to read the readme or the in-game help texts carefully, the game may seem a tad confusing at first. Also be ready to improve your skills a bit, the game needs more than one take to be fully enjoyed, I fear.

This is a simple platformer. Hickory can run. Hickory can jump.

Unfortunately, Hickory can also get squished by the many moving platforms, the pointy screws that are lying around, the switch blocks and the other inhabitants of the clock: the toy soldiers and the fine cuckoo.

Fortunately, however, it all works like clockwork, and there are various switches around that can change the direction the clock moves or move certain blocks away. Some jumps need to be timed with one eye on where the second hand lies.

In this side scroller, you play a young boy who awakens to a power outage in your home.

As you search (Press Arrows to move) your home, monsters are walking about. You realize you must find your little sister and get out fast. The problem is that the monster can only be damaged by intense light. As you open the doors (Pressing X) to your home, you realize your little sister is hiding somewhere. Your hand cranked rechargeable flashlight is your only weapon (Press C to activate it). You can get a faster recharge by standing next to an outlet.

Defeat the monster, find your sister and try to make it to the sunrise.
