Metal Gear Solid 4 & Metal Gear Online - 8/6: Rumored Trophy Update Out Now? Rumor!

Yea, sorry for ending without a warning. I had to go and didn't have time to say bye. Thought it would've given me the option to give someone else host, which it usually does, but it didn't this time. Weird. Yea, that first Capture at Ambush Alley was fun, epic I dare say. When the timer had already ended and we still couldn't finish the match. Same with the one in B.B. with everybody fire grenades and rpgs going off everywhere.

I seem to be getting much worse, sometimes I'm doing fine but than I end a wall and die like five times in a row. I think I'm going to change my style back to rifles with some cqc/knifing. I died so much, yet somehow I moved up a level.

Playing with a full game of 16 players is just too much run and gun. I set my games at a max of 12 players, 10-12 players seem to give the nice balance of tactical and run and gun.
Hey I took some pictures in act 4 and it added an option to "exorcise" some of my photos. I did it but nothing happened that I could see. It played some strange music.
You took a picture of some ghosts, I think. There's like 30 total in Act 4. Hope that isn't spoilers. :whistle2:#

Actually, it switched to Daust, then when he left, it transferred to some other guy that wasn't a CAG.

B.B. Capture match was seriously the most fun I've had in MGO, so far. It just kept going back and forth like a game of tennis.

Everyone has their off days. I finally got my aim back with the primaries, so I'm going to continue using them. I just had to change the sensitivity of the OTS view. Once I get my Assault Rifle+ to level three, I might be going straight pistol/CQC until my Handgun+ is at an adequate level.

Now that you mention levels, I was level 5 about a week ago, fell to 4, then was stuck at 3 for a couple days. Now, after all those matches we played, I'm back to 5. Finally!

Also, what's everyone's headshot/regular kill ratio? My damn ratio is about 50/50 :whistle2:s.

So, the general consensus is that MGO is quite good?

I haven't actually given it a shot yet - put off by the supposedly annoying sign up process.

It takes like 90 seconds. It is dumb, yes, but I don't know what the big deal is.

I had a lot of fun playing with you'll last night. It certainly helped me towards the 10 hours I need to get the Scanning Plug in the main game.

I think I have like 10 headshots out of about 800 kills?

What's the link to those videos of the MGS story? My friend just got MGS4 but he's never played the previous games and wants to know the back story. I know there were some videos online that told you everything about MG1-MGS3.

Only read this if you beat the game:

I know people were mad about
the relationship between Akiba and Meryl, but has no one made the connection to MGS's line "love on the battlefield"? Come on people. Ok, yeah, it was cheesy, but clearly Kojima wanted to make up for that not happening in the original MGS.

It did happen in MGS1!

Where? Otacon and Wolf? Snake and Otacon? Snake and Meryl? This one was a little more cut and dry.

Who cares! Snake is old he got no mojo left.

Umm nevermind I don't think he have any to begin with. Damn being a clone must suck.
I wish this game had support for clan matches. I wanna beat down some other clans.

Maybe Konami will start up a tourney.
I think there is support. When you check clan rankings it says something like, "Participate in clan battles to become ranked."

That would be fun to have official clan matches. We kinda had unofficial clan matches since a lot times it would be CAG against a random clan that joined the game. Which was fun.

People kick for all kinds of reason. For no reason at all sometimes. One time I went on a five killing streak and I got kicked, Another I was voted to be kicked three times for no reason at all and got kicked, I wasn't even doing good in that match. I don't mind it if there is a actual reason, but just to kick someone without letting them know doesn't help. Just makes the person who put you up for kicking look like a jackass.

Hmm I mentioned that earlier, but nobody replied so I figured there must be no official support. That's interesting.

You must be a camper/sniper/knife/CQC/SMG/auto/SVD/AR noob!

Do you guys ever use headsets? I had mine ready last night but I didn't hear any chat and I don't like to be the only one talking. On the plus side, I got pretty familiar with some of the radio commands, which are also nice because they put blips on the map.

Also, do you still have to hold select to talk, or is there an open mic option?

Clearly you didn't notice that
each of the beauties wanted to ride his Operator gun, if you know what I mean.

I'm willing to use my BT headset. Hopefully, the connection doesn't suck balls.

As for the open mic option, I think you hold select once you enter the game and you don't have to press select after that.

I always forget to turn it on beforehand.
anybody know what all that Kanji is about?
It is used in many countries as a form of writing the written language. It is used in countries such as China and Japan!

Just got it today, I've never played any of the others except about 5 minutes of the 2nd one. Graphics and cut screens are hella good, now time to go in with guns blazing.

Also Multiplayers looks cool too.

I'm usually wearing my headset, but Thongsy is usually the only one with a headset and anything he says comes out "garble garble garble," so there's no use.

Sorry Thongsy but it's true. I can never understand a word you're saying.

I own a BT headset, but I can never understand 95% of the MGO players so I find it futile. It's weird because I know a lot of other CAGs have no problems understanding each other.
Very fun, guys. See you next time.
We usually have a few more people, like Bavgate, sometimes primetime and Oldboy join, too.

Awesome. I will check out your games, then.

No problem. It might be that I'm not really talking either and it's just catching background noise. I can't even understand or hear half the people that have headsets. I have no problem with it in CoD4, but MGO is just a problem.

Was fun playing with you espy, though it was like only four people at most the whole time. I was trying to play old style Capture, but nobody really joined the room. I wish there was a way to play the old style sneaking, that would be awesome, but it's not to be.

exactly, I've given up on communication via headset on my ps3. I'll use it on the 360, but the ps3 is just being a bitch with it. I'll just stick to keyboard for now, and probably forever.

I wonder what MGO's problem is. Hmm.

Yeah it was fun. I still don't know what old style Capture is. So if we all joined one color team and fought Snake would that be close to old sneaking?

So I just beat this game again for my I forget how many play throughs. I already want to run through it again. It hasn't left my PS3 for another game. Anyone else having a hard time putting this down?

My headset works fine (even though its the crappy jabra one that came with warhawk) and there are people out there whose headsets work fine as well. What I would recommend is that all CAGs make a private room and just use the room to mess around with mic settings until you get it right. Nothing is more annoying than having to mute someone because all you can hear is them breathing.

I think some of you may enjoy this...

did it entirely myself using references and doing it in my own style:

if you've seen my other work you'll know it tends to be more on the cute and non-serious side of things.
