So the Optimus Prime will essentially be the updated 'movie' version like we got last year with Iron Man.

They'll have a Con exclusive for each line right (Marvel, SW, GI Joe, Transformers?)
No, Prime isn't a 'movie' version, just the current Mugg painted metallic.

Unknown right now if each line will have an exclusive MM, but every line that had Muggs last year had an SDCC exclusive, so I think it's safe to assume that they will. Especially with the ease of producing exclusive Muggs ;)
You fingers won't be crossed if it's the movie Deadpool. :p
fuck that...that thing should even have been called Deadpool :puke:

I hear ya, this coming from a hardcore deadpool fan who has a couple custom Deadpool Muggs lol. But i mean they did do a Iron Man Movie version. So I'm pretty sure they would do a Movie version of Dead Pool and wolverine. But that's just my take on it really.

Bah, after returning my original 4 TF muggs to where I bought them initially (Megatron to TRU, $10.49; the rest to K-Mart, $12.99), I bought 3/4 from Target during the $7.99 sale as well as getting price-adjustments on the 2 new ones.

Unfortunately I couldn't find Soundwave during the sale. I still save $2 by returning the one I got from K-Mart. I check Target the other day, we restocked on TF muggs, and of course, they have 5/6, with no freaking Soundwave..

Gotta wait another week I guess.

Just to reiterate a fellow CAG's tip, if you are on the fence about buying Starscream or Grimlock at Target, make sure to purchase it! (Especially if Target is your only source of Muggs.)

I purchased a Starscream at my Target and the receipt read "NCF Transformers". This spells bad news since NCF pretty much means they'll stop restocking the shelves with these Muggs once their supplies are up.
I am not sure if Target will stop selling Transformers Muggs all together or just that particular wave though.

Here's more bad news about the future of Mighty Muggs from yodanews.com:

YN: A lot of people were sad to hear that the Mighty Muggs will be TRU Exclusives this fall, can you give us any more information on this? We heard from e-stores and Hasbro direct dealers that MM were a great seller. With a lot of collectors and kids not able to get to TRU in all areas will these also be sold on Hasbro's Website or TRU's site? Any chance they will come back to a broader release in 2010?

H: Despite fans of the format, Mighty Muggs seemed to appeal to a small but passionate minority of the overall Star Wars collecting audience compared to all our other Star Wars sub lines. There is no chance that Mighty Muggs, at least in the current size or format, will come back as a broader or national release. It is unknown whether TRU.com will be selling Mighty Muggs, but we'll pass on the encouragement. It will not be sold through HasbroToyShop.com.

-----

While it's nothing we didn't already know, it's a bit disheartening to know that none of the TRU exclusives will make it to Hasbrotoyshop. I'm guessing that Muggs will not survive to see 2010.
Well...atleast I'm glad I got what I own.
Same here. If only I can find destro and baranoes and maybe the new marvel wave with phoenix and cyclops.

My Sabretooth, Cyclops and Phoenix arrived in the mail today, now the only Marvel Muggs I'm missing are the new Logan and Peter Parker.

After reading all of the doom and gloom about the muggs I've all but given up on my Starscream hunt.

I picked up a Captain Rex. I was on the fence about getting him, but now that I did I'm really glad I did.

Watch, they will kill the Muggs line and then the secondary market is going to blow up for these. Then they'll bring them back when the realize toy collectors are paying a premium for them.

Found a Venom to add to my tiny collection. I check my Target 2 times a week, a distant Target once a week and Toys R Us once a week and still haven't seen Destro, Baroness, Grimlock or Starscream.
No wait, I did see Destro but it was him or a game.

I just got an email from BBTS that the next wave of SW (Wicket, Crimson Guard, Qui Gon) is shipping. I forgot I had pre-ordered it. No funds atm, I had to cancel the order. This isn't the wave that's supposed to be online only is it?

Anyone have any idea if the SDCC exclusives will be available online again this year? I know it's sheer speculation at this point, but I'm just wondering if they might not be online simply because Hasbro seems to be lacking in support of the Muggs line. I've come to this conclusion from some of the articles on here that state the Muggs won't be carried on Hasbro.com in the future, etc. What do you guys think? Is shiny, metallic optimus gonna be tough to track down online ... I don't want to book a flight to SD for a Mugg and it's way late to stay anywhere decent for Comicon at this point ... hopefully he'll turn up along with the other exclusives online at some point.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU---

Somebody get me a Starscream stat!
Is there or will there ever be a Daredevil Mighty Mugg?
There is no Daredevil Mugg as of now but perhaps in the future.

Went to Target yesterday to find some Muggs (that I don't have). SW Muggs were down to 2-3 of the Target specials, TF Muggs were 3 Bumblebees and an Optimus Prime, Marvel Muggs were plentiful were leftover Iron Man (classic), and a hulk or two. The kicker that got me was the GI Joe Muggs, there must have been 10 or so of the Duke Mugg. Maybe if my Target drops the price, I may buy one. Just thought it was funny.

I'm still looking for the Shock Trooper and Snow Trooper exclusives. Anyone happen to still see them at a store? If anyone could scoop up one of each, I'd gladly pay cost plus shipping.

Metallic Mighty Muggs Optimus Prime SDCC 2009 Exclusive
Posted on 04-17-2009 at 12:45 PM by DESTRO under Mighty Muggs Toy News.
Hasbro announces second TRANSFORMERS figure available at San Diego Comic-Con 2009.

In honor of the 25th Anniversary of the TRANSFORMERS brand, OPTIMUS PRIME, leader of the AUTOBOTS and one of the most well known characters from the TRANSFORMERS brand lore, is getting the popular MIGHTY MUGGS line treatment for San Diego Comic-Con. This special edition OPTIMUS PRIME MIGHTY MUGG figure, which comes with a detachable cannon, shines with a metallic finish and comes in commemorative foil packaging.

Hopefully the Target exclusives come out here in the northwest sometime soon.. Seems like ages ago when every other area got their shipments.. :(

I'll pass on the Optimus SDCC. New paint won't justify the $20 (if they even offer it online). Hopefully the other SDCC Muggs are cool.

If anyone wants a Punisher, the local TRU has about 10 of them that I can send out. (cost + shipping of course)

Wow, just my humble opinion, but that is one ugly vinyl ... with his little legs and odd proportions, heh. I'm bias but I'd rather go for something like this ... http://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&sku=900350&utm_source=search0109

If Muggs do die out and you're looking to continue your vinyl addiction, I highly recommend medicom toys ... pricey but oh so awesome.

I betcha you guys who say you don't want the Optimus Prime figure will want it once it becomes rare, just like the SDCC Iron Man. I just know it.

Also if anybody is looking for Starscream, Baroness or Destro let me know. Local Toys R Us has them in alot and I just stopped collecting them pretty much.

I was at Target killing time until Best Buy opened and I found Destro. I didn't even know that Target carried the newer GI Joe Muggs. Now I just need Baroness and Duke. I'm actually waiting for Duke to be clearanced since most Targets in my area have 5-6 of them.

Ugh fine. Since people are spotting Starscream on the East Coast again I'll give TRU another shot since Target didn't have it this morning. But then I'm really done :(

I didn't realize these were cool little figurines until I saw them on Slickdeals, remembered this thread and found out they weren't mugs. Got Snake Eyes, Mola Ram, and Cairo Swordsman in stores on Saturday. Ordered Wolverine, Wicket, Indiana Jones and Teebo since then. I think they're my new addiction.

Anywho, Toys R Us by me has a pretty big selection and there's a Target that's pretty much been forgotten and has a few of the older ones (Thing) still. If anyone needs any, let me know and I can check for you.

crazylikeafoxx11, they're a bad, baaaad addiction. You can easily spend $100 just getting the ones you want, but then they just keep coming and coming and coming. I mean, first you're like "Ok, I have all of them. Yay!" Then they announce wave 2 and you're like "Ok I"ll buy wave 2." Then wave 3 comes out and you're like "Ok wave 3 it is." All of a sudden you have to decide whether you want to buy all of wave 4, too, just so you can complete the collection, because you can't go to wave 5 without having all of wave 4, right? Oh look, a new line of Muggs based on your favorite cartoon series/toyline/movie ever. Looks like you're going to have to start the process all over again. I'm not trying to dissuade you from starting, but it's hard to stop once you start.

This. So so true. I was doing so well until all of the Transformers. My wife may just kill me...

I've noticed how addicting it is (I'm about to buy a Venom off Ebay). However, I'm not a completionist so it's really just about getting the ones I want. After I buy Venom, I'll have spent about $120 on 8 Muggs.

I still don't want SDCC Iron Man or Peter Parker. There are others I'd rather have instead of another Spider-Man and Iron Man figure.

That lil' guy looks wierd. Doesn't fit the Gears aesthetic well. I'll be fine when Muggs go the way of the Pog and I'm left to the (near) complete Marvel Collection I have.

Oh man, but SDCC Iron Man isn't "just another iron man" ... it's seriously like the Mugg Holy Grail ... I wake up every morning feeling safe knowing his demure shininess is somewhere in my room watching over me ... plus it's no contest that SDCC Iron Man has the best Mugg packaging ... hands down ...

SDCC Iron Man is just another Mugg. Shiny paint job included.

And the box is like every other box, just Iron Man in place of the Marvel logo.
