Miley Cyrus must be cursing the day she pulled a "goofy face" for a photo with her mates. Not only has the picture brought her a whole load of negative press and accusations of racism, now she's been slapped with a law suit to boot.

LA resident Lucie J. Kim has filed a class action against the 16-year-old on behalf of the one million Asian people living in LA county, claiming the image is offensive to Asian people and an invasion of their civil rights.

She says that Miley "knew or should have known that her image would be publicly disseminated via the media, which [she] knew focused on her private life."

The $4 billion price tag was calculated according to the minimum payout for a civil rights violation — $4000 … that's $4000 each for one million plaintiffs — a whopping four billion dollars.

Somehow we don't think Disney pays that well!

I can't wait to see how this is proven. Also, she's not the only one making the gesture, are they going to sue the one without millions of dollars? No? Wow, that seems rather prejudiced, not suing the relatively poor. COUNTERSUE.

The amount you ask? Oh, How many people in the country have less money than Miley Cyrus? :)

She's just a kid and kids do stupid things. I can't believe they're sueing her for that. I'm Asian and I make fun of other Asians all the time. But whatever, people have too much time on their hands to pry on other people's private life.

you know I don't think the lawsuit was made to make money.(the sheer amount of the suit itself is crazy) but more of a gesture for people to act more responsible for their actions.

Racism is a horrible thing and people get away with it everyday. Life would just be so much easier if we all knew how people felt about us.
 
If she got punched in the mouth and someone took a picture of her fat lip, could TMK sue? That way he wouldn't need a job.

Is it just me or is the asian trying to make round eyes. I want to sue him. Everyone else has their eyes slanted or half shut trying to make them seem slanted yet the asian has his wide open and seems to be trying to make them round.

I'm asian and I think this lawsuit is BS.

Hell, there's even an asian dude in the photo for chrissakes--maybe the whole thing was his idea.

But if that chick does somehow win, I'll take my $4K. Should be the bare minimum for me having to put up with years of Hollywood stereotypes of Asians anyway. :p

Actually, that is how the KKK was brought down in many regions by the SPLC. Once they became a formal entity with members paying dues, they became a target for litigation.

Actually, the lawsuits were for lynchings, beatings, and arson. Hate speech is constitutionally protected speech, many white supremacist groups still exist and they have every right to make their views known. This is also why the government couldn't stop them from participating in the adopt a highway program. (I find these hilarious)
