Minder Deals Gone Bad - Now in police custody - Victims please contact the police!

Meh. I read her story last night and pretty much felt :whistle2:s like everyone else here considering the timing and all. It will be interesting to see how this goes.

I do know she's coming from the same ISP and area as Minder, so that part makes sense. Or it could be Minder, coming under a new ID to throw us off the trail. Damned if I know. In any case, I treat it as questionable information, without any way to know the source.

Regardless, the timing is very odd. No question there.

I didn't want to delete her story. That is why I let it up to the mods. It changed the story somewhat, though it was fishy. The guy is in trouble and knows it.

That's why the cops are involved, because the whole thing is fishy.

Including the newest wrinkle.

Wow, just read all of the new posts. Sounds like crap to me, I think he is sweating it out right now and trying to gauge how much trouble he could be in.

Minder came on here and read this thread. My case lost some evidence now, even though I have the pictures still. He probably deleted all the evidence now. They had me call him and he's being all coy like, "I never had sex with you what the hell"
Thanks guys ;l I know it was my choice to post on here...but it was my choice to delete them also...except you guys didn't believe me.

Why would you post "evidence" to a crime on here? I didn't know the scales of justice could be tipped by cheapassgamers. We have more power then we thought...hhhhhhmmmmmm.

Good News- Won the Paypal dispute

Bad News- fucker closed his account out and they couldn't recover the funds (I hate Paypal)

Waiting on my bank's investigation. They stated that if they find in favor of me (which they said is probable) they would contact the local police, FBI for interstate mail fraud and the USPS for mail fraud. They said that in most cases, when the person is caught, they are in a boat load of trouble and looking at jail time.
Why do they even bother posting if they just end up wanting to delete it? Isn't this like the third or fourth time they did this?
Good questions.

Which is why I'm continuing to "archive" any posts, because the "post and delete" routine is getting old.

Wouldn't that be a buttload of trouble and jail time at a federal "pound me in the ass" prison?

Make sure you mention that to your bank that you won the Paypal dispute, I'm sure that'll help their investigation about the situation.

I'm not shocked that there wasn't any money in the Paypal account. I'd have been more shocked if there was any money in it.

Paypal sucks. Your credit card would have protected you. Paypal has no interest in getting the money back. Second moral to this story: never use Paypal funds to pay for anything. Always buy with your credit card!

Unfortunately, you live and learn. I will not be making large purchases with Paypal anymore. They really don't care about their customers, just the cash.

Hopefully, our mystery guest/Minder will read my post and get smart. As I said in my message to him, I will call off the dogs if I get my cash or iPods.

I am sure he is reading through this.

Messge to Minder, get smart asshole or you will be playing with the big boys soon.

Ive got 1 day to go until my claims are done with Paypal. I have contacted my bank as well and they are set to open an investigation if I win the case and he has no funds. All I want is my money or my Ipods, thats it. I cant believe he wants to take things this far over a few ipods. If thats how he wants to play then thats fine with me. Im going to turn over all the info, PMs, paypal stuff and the Glendale PD info over to my banks investigators Friday morning.

No doubt, I wonder why he sent some of the iPods out and not the others. How many of us still haven't received the iPods?

I'm still out an iPod and all my attempts to call his home phone have been unsuccessful.

I think my Paypal claim will be resolved in the next day or two as well. After that, I'm moving onto my credit card company, where I'm sure I'll get my money back.

How have they been unsuccessful?
How have they been unsuccessful?
I either haven't gotten an answer, a busy signal or someone saying that he doesn't live there (even though it's the Minder household).

Ask to speak to Doris or I was just very casual like "Hey, is Chris there." Then just say it's Howard. Also, I called around 9:30 am West Coast Time. I have just been leaving messages during the day on weekdays. Figure someone is going to listen to it and start getting worried/annoyed. I am not an arse, just stating the facts when I leave a message (police, mail fraud, FBI, etc.).

I am waiting for my bank's decision on their investigation. Haven't tried to call Minder lately. I was hoping one day I would come home and the iPods would be there, but no such luck. I am going to call the GD police to see if they have started an investigation. I will post the results.
any new reports?
Won both of my paypal disputes but they couldnt recover any money. The Glendale PD needs to get off their ass and do something about this shit. Im going on the website right now to email some other people in Glendale.

Emailed the Councilmember for Minders section of the city. Told him that we did as the Glendale PD told us to do and we havent heard anything from them. I hope he can get things moving alittle bit.

Could you post the email that you wrote if you don't mind or PM me if you aren't comfortable with posting. I want to follow the same type of letter to both of them as well. Maybe the GD police will get off their arse and go after this criminal. I'm out $425 and I am pissed (so is my wife). fuck the whole greed thing, I was trying to help out a friend and get a better iPod for my wife, fuck me if I am kind.

Just shot you a pm bro

Good call contacting a member of the City Council. They like to bring shit like this up at the regular meetings and blather on about it at length so they appear concerned about the community, justice, etc. He will probably call the police and demand that they take action quickly before the next meeting, so he has something to take credit for.

Wow, I wish I had done a search for this thread earlier. I too ordered twice from Minder, once one ipod from the first batch, then two separate back-to-back transactions lumped together for about 600 bucks from his second batch. The first ipod I got in about 2 days, the second took 9.

I really started to get paranoid after five days, and weaseled out an insurance number (he didn't offer me a tracking number) which my local post office could use for tracking. Well, I took it there the next day, and their records showed no such number existed, vis a vis he made that shit up! All 8 ipods in total that I bought from him were definitely in the same scuffed up but new packaging that the rest have reported. The only one that seemed tampered with was a pink ipod that had a logo for a California shipping company, which he ohsokindly neglected to mention. Sigh.

I really feel for you guys, and count my lucky stars that I was able to avoid this situation. I'm rooting for you!

EDIT: I'm gonna see if I still have information on what that shipping company's name/logo was. Maybe it'll be a link to where he got the rest of them? Worth a shot.

He can take all the credit he wants if it means I get my IPODS :)

The nano I bought from him had the Buffalo Sabres logo on the back, I will take a picture and post. I know Buffalo is no where near AZ.

Maybe a quick call to the company would sort things out. Just tell them that you think you might have bought stolen goods and are trying to track down how it came to be in your possesion.
I'm sure they would be forthcoming in telling you how those nanos came to exist and what happened to them. Especially if some stock was stolen and they knew about it.

Maybe if excess stock was sold to a liquidation co. they might be able to give you the name of that co. and you could continue to call on down the line till you found someone who had a box or two stolen.

If you found out the story behind it, it would defintely be CAG story/investigation of the year and you'd have a bright future as a self employed ,ferrari driving playboy in Hawaii.

If anyone wants to track the history of the california overnight ipod.

Just sent off email to both of the parties listed above. Hopefully, they will get on the GDPD soon. Anyone heard anymore from the mystery guest?

I guess I have some good news...... I got a Ipod Shuffle in the mail today from this scammer. I didnt see a date on the box but it should have been mailed sometime last week. I still didnt get my 80 gig Ipod though. Im happy that I got something but Im still pissed that he sent me only the cheap one.

I havent heard anything from the city council people or the Glendale PD. The city Govt. there sucks. I might be within driving distance to visit some friends in a couple months. I might have to see if this guy is around to get my money back.

So now Minder ONLY owes me $240.00 or a 80 gig IPOD now. Im not going to let up unless I get one or the other

Man, that's still crappy. Who cares about a shuffle? I mean, I know it's _something_, but 240 bucks is no joke.

Both of my packages from him came in USPS-branded boxes.

It is good to hear you got at least something. I'm thinking he sold more iPods than he actually had and he is now trying to ship whatever is owed as soon as he gets his hands on more supplies.

I hate getting my hopes up and then nothing. Minder, if you are reading this, hook a brother up and send me what I paid for. This whole experience has really sucked! I don't think I am ever going to make a transaction like this again.

In hindsight, I'm amazed that this whole internet "trading" business works as well as it does to begin with. There seems to be such little that a buyer can do to really defend himself from a seller. Yes, a credit card is essential for reversal of charges when things go wrong, but what a gigantic PITA that is! Fleabay is another cesspool, where many less savy internet shoppers are so easily duped by the "first time seller" or 'zero feedback' assholes out there. *shakes head*

That's why never buy from people with zero feedback..easy as that..

I am so lucky my Minder deals DIDN'T go bad..2 for 2 luckily. Hope it all works out for the rest of you.

Just stumpled on this, sounds like he stole them from the mail then was selling them, got so caught up in selling them he just said ok to everyone without even checking. Got more money then what he had and said fuck it and spent it all. Why the police havent got him yet, not sure?

His myspace shows he hasnt logged on since the 16th though. No one has got a call back from his police department? It scares me that theres 100% proof of these kinds of things and nothing ever happens. Even when you get 5+ people to file complaints they still sit around.

The only time i ever succeeded on getting someone thrown in jail was because he had a past record on scamming people. He was pretending to sell cars, sat in jail for 7 months, then got back to a computer and scammed me my ds. I made one simple call to the probation officer and he was back in jail ASAP. But if you don't have a record it seems that the police dont even care. Scary...
