I started a new road to the show player and I have it on quick play. My team was down by a two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning there was two men on and I smoked a ball over the left field fence for a home run. Guess what the game didn't count it as a home run instead it counted it as a fly ball ground rule double single and we won the game. I thought it was just a mistake so I continued playing the game. The exact same sitution came back up about 10 games later and I hit another home run in the bottom of the ninth and they counted it as a fly ball ground rule double single. This time I decided to call Sony and I have a direct number to a level three tech. I spoke with the tech today and he said that he had the same thing happen to him. He went on to say that he wasn't sure if Sony was going to fix this or not. He agreed with me when I said that it takes a lot away from the experience of the game. Sony has offered me a refund on the game but I think they need to let consumers know that there is an issue with the game before to many customers start buying it. What should I do?
 
No he would stop at first base and the announcer would say the game would end on a fly ball ground rule double even though it was a home run. This happened twice to me and once to the tech that I spoke with at Sony.

Are you just trying to be a dick? If a ball is smoked over the fence, it should be a home run.
 
No I am not being a dick, it is a rule. It should be scored as a single and a rbi. If the batter does not touch home plate it is not a homerun. Just hitting the ball over the wall is not the end of the play.

While this is technically true, I think the complaint is that if a HR is hit the player should have the option of rounding the bases and having everything count just like in the majors. I remember a Mets playoff game a few years ago where someone got mobbed rounding first after hitting a "walk-off" HR and it counted as a single on the books.
 
In baseball, a home run is a hit in which the batter is able to circle all the bases, ending at home plate and scoring a run himself

If the runner does not touch home plate it is not a Homerun. It is scored wrong, and you should have the option to finish the play.
 
In a baseball game if you are up in the bottom of whatever inning after the 9th and the score is either tied or you are behind and you hit a home run to win the game the Home Run is counted and the RBI's are counted. The MLB 08 game does not count it as a home run and does not give you credit for the home run or the RBI's. Sony is aware that this is a problem and they are unsure if they are going to fix this issue.

He can't help it if the his runner will not round the bases.
 
I've had this same thing happen to me a couple times as well. The first time, the scored was tied 3-3 in the bottom of the ninth, and I hit a two-run homer. But when the game was finished, the score shown was only 4-3. I think it's just a glitch in the game that happens on walk offs.

You are probably right - I couldn't remember if it was him or Todd Pratt.
 
I've experienced a different bug with the game as well. If a pitcher throws one at the dirt by my feet, my batter slides out away from the plate when he should be jumping out of the way. It's not a big deal, but the problem is the jumping animation occurs at the next pitch regardless of where the next pitch location is. I've had this happen twice causing me to take a strike when I could've swung at the pitch.

You are correct. It was also a playoff game.
 
last night I was playing my franchise as the Cubs, and Zambrano hit a home run in the third inning. Then when he came later in the game, they said "before that lets flash you back to the third"..

the animation showed Fukudome just looking over his head in right, and then when Carlo's come up to bat, he was wearing his fielding glove and batting at the same time..

Weird glitch
 
The weirdest glitch I found happened in one of the first games I played. I hit a routine grounder to the second baseman, who threw the ball over the first baseman's head. It either landed in the crowd, or the dugout, because after that all you could see was an extreme close up of the crowd, and the window for the runner. So I ended up with an inside the park home run on an error.
 
I read a story on a gambler who basically lost everything because Ventura didn't touch home... the Mets would have covered the spread with the full homer counted, instead, they did not.

Crazy.
