I'd love a 4 game sweep like in 04
Four games in 04, 7 games in 007?
NL is trash.
 Haven't the All Star games of the past several years prove that?

Looks like Becketts starting to lose his steam, meanwhile this new rockies pitcher almost took off Lugos foot with his first pitch.

I just figured out the Rockies strategy.... keep the game under 5 innings and pray for a rainout so the game doesn't count. Devious...

Edit: Oops, lordwow beat me to it.

He's getting plenty of rest for his next inning of work. Maybe they should get Snyder up since this game is over.

Its no longer raining, too. They're going to blow through the entire Rockies bullpen in game 1.
The Rockies are probably praying they call this game for rain before the Red Sox start breaking some records.
12-1...

12 runs is a Red Sox World Series record.

And it's only the 5ht?! What id taking this game so long? It started at 8 right...

Three walks now 13-1.
They had to wait 9 days for this.
I think it's worth the wait.

The best part is unlike Football, zzzzZZZzzz, it's a seven game series and the Rockies can come back and win the next whatever games.

Just wait until the series goes back to Colorado. The way the Sox lineup is hitting the ball, I forsee at least one 20-run game.

At least it looks like Gagne will make a WS appearance.

So take about 5 points off whatever lead the sox end up with.

Good thing he's on the roster, I guess the role of mop up guy #2 (behind Kyle Snyder) really did need to be filled.

You never know, Dice-K pitched well last time! Things change. The Rockies were good... now they aren't, things change. :)

"Why is Becket still pitching?"
"I don't know, that's a good question"
"Beckett shouldn't be pitching"
"Bitching and bitching and bitching..."

You aren't the fucknig manager you asshole announcers so shut the fuck up!

Hi everyone. :whistle2:D
They also blew through Boston this year including Beckett and Shilling...in Boston. (it makes a difference in interleague play -unlike your Indians-yankees example) They aren't intimidated nor should they be.

fuck Boston fans for trying to get our tickets, btw.

Rockies in 5-6. The ALCS was the red sox world series.
So like I said the regular season meant nothing. :)

Can we take some of the runs this game and carry them over to the next and the next and the next.

After tonight's game the hitters might be tired.

After the past three games. They scored double digit runs three games in a row. That's crazy.

God, I fucking hate the Red Sox. They are the new Yankees.

Worst. Fans. Ever.

I can't wait for Red Sox to come to CO and start sucking wind in BP.

It's one game. I would wait until the fourth win(if you get it) before you start your circle jerk, guys.

You need to calm down. And no way are Red Sox fans the new Yankees. I am a Mets fan by the way.

You seriously don't know what you're talking about. The Red Sox have by far one of the best, most loyal fanbases in all of sports. If you're mad because they've been winning, fine, but just admit that. Meanwhile, I saw two brand-new, crisp, tags-just-ripped Tulowitzki t-shirts in Boston today. New Rockies fans everywhere, when no one would admit to rooting for that team about 6 months ago.

As for "sucking wind" in Denver - telling that you are already talking about the Rockies' elevation advantage. You made a smarmy prediction, now deal with it.

That was a little bitch comment if I've ever seen one.

If you lost 13-1 you'd bitch too.

But that doesn't negate the fact that the vast majority of RedSox fans are inbred retards who make statements like "Duh, the NL is trash" based on one game.

Yeah, we got our asses beat but as I said. It's game one. I'm smart enough to know you don't start celebrating a championship until you've actually won all four games.

on a side note.

What is the fun of sports if you can't hate on your opponent? Seriously, Boston fan is the last one who should be lecturing anyone on how to act.

All I know is that my superstition of the Sox playing better when I don't watch all of the game came true.

But I really want to watch all of it tonight.

This is the real reason why sports fans are lame: superstitions.

The sox have a good chance of taking this, but we need dice-k to pitch well in Colorado. Im kinda curious to see if we go with a 3 or 4 man rotation. Im kinda hoping 3 man because lester makes me a little nervous.

if the entire rockies staff pitches the corners like that, this is going to be a short series. Like dafoomie said earlier, the redsox only really struggle vs pitchers that have decent stuff, and POUND the strike zone. That long layoff not only will bother the hitters timing, but the pitchers as well. I am not sure if francis pitches like that normally and gets the opponets to swing on some of those pitches, but he was awful. I can understand his era being so high for an ace, but how the hell did he get that many wins being so wild.

Naw, we're basing that on allstar games too. Think before you type. But with comments like that, you certainly make NL fans sound like trash.
come on who really expected the cockies to beat beckett in boston?
some people that it on these boards, and some experts were trying to reference the june win by the rockies over beckett.

The NL is trash, this coming from a Braves fan. The disparity is so wide I could park New Jankee Stadium in it.

does anyone else find it odd that the rockies went with cook for game 4...He was roughly .500 this year at 8 - 7..he has an avg era, and HASN'T PITCHED IN 11 WEEKS. Do they really expect to win a game when he hasn't pitched in that long. That is a very long time to not have any game experiance, shit most guys that are on the DL that long, do a week or 2 in rehab and usually don't have great first starts, and he isn't even that great to begin with. I am not going to say that it is an easy win, with lester going, but my money is on a short outing by cook. I hope for the bullpens sake, there starters are effective in the next 2 starts. Can some long time rockies fan explain that logic to me. I have heard he was supposed to be the ace, but come on.

It was Gagne time, not my fault.

The disparity between leagues is as bad as its ever been. I don't think any NL team would even be a wildcard team in the AL.

Colorado has a lot to be proud of, they've made a fantastic run and have beaten the odds to get here. But, they're coming from an inferior league and they're playing the best of 4 great AL teams. Getting steamrolled in the World Series is nothing for that team to be ashamed of.

They can consider the coming ass-whooping payback for Bourque.

I'm not going sit here an argue that the NL is equal or superior to the AL. I just think calling it "trash" reeks of false bravado and unwarranted condescension

Especially when you consider the AL has the DH.

So what about the DH? Not that long ago, the situation was reversed. I'm sure having the pitcher not hit is a great burden for them... If they don't have a guy on the bench that can hit decently, then they don't have depth. They should have a guy like that anyway for pinch hitting.

I'm not saying that any particular team in the NL is trash, I'm saying that the entire league is on a lower level of competition. The NL is AAAA right now. Theres no excuse for that, especially with big market, big payroll teams like the Dodgers and Mets.

As a baseball fan, I don't like the situation. Maybe they should consider bringing the DH to the NL, I'm not sure what would help.
