the problem with brining the DH to the NL it will bring a bigger disparity to the have's and the have nots...
The have nots don't need to exist as far as I'm concerned. Most of them are just putting crap on the field so they can collect their big fat revenue sharing checks. There are a few teams like the Twins that try to field a good team, but so many others don't. Its a joke.

very true, but some of the shitty teams seem to be making a push...the royals and brewers have been perenial losers, that are at least trying to make a push. I personally hated the expansion of the leagues in MLB and other sports, as it really dilluted the already thin talents in all major sports. Pitching across the board suffered greatly when the expansion went into effect. Another item I would like to see in MLB, is salary caps. I know it won't happen due to the power of the players union, but I would like to see a ceiling and basement cap put into place.

I love the assholes here!

Yes it is one game, but look at the Rockie fans... "We won 21 of 22... we meet Beckett before and we will meet him again..." and all this bullshit. So think before you type because not only do you look like assholes, you look like ignorant assholes.

I'm not saying that any particular team in the NL is trash, I'm saying that the entire league is on a lower level of competition. The NL is AAAA right now. Theres no excuse for that, especially with big market, big payroll teams like the Dodgers and Mets.
it is poor decision making...signing older players to big money contracts in the twillight of there career, or having all offense and no pitching....shit the redsox pulled the same shit for a long time...signing guys like jack clark and jose canseco thinking they could muscle there way to the world series. You just need a good gameplan and stick to it. The pats were one of the lowest income teams when kraft bought them. They were rather shitty, and ran the team poorly. Kraft got a good management team in place, and they can afford to loose a key player to injury as they have a lot of depth.
I'm not going sit here an argue that the NL is equal or superior to the AL. I just think calling it "trash" reeks of false bravado and unwarranted condescension
But calling me an inbred hick isn't along the same lines?
But calling me an inbred hick isn't along the same lines?
He's just jealous because being an inbred hick would be a step up for him.

I hope Boston wins all the away games, just to proves a point. :)

And they should win, I'm not wearing my Red Sox shirts. :D

You just don't see lineups like this in the NL, with guys 1-9 that'll grind out long at bats and make you work for every single out.
Damn, Holliday was out by a mile and a half.
I truly hate bad baseball. That was UGLY!!!!

I don't even think he was going, I think he just fell asleep...

I don't understand what Holliday was thinking there. He was picked off with ease.
I don't understand what Holliday was thinking there. He was picked off with ease.
I think that's the first time I've seen somebody frozen by the throw. He just looked up and stopped then tried to dive back.
Christ. Let Colorado win one. I've got to be in Denver tomorrow and Saturday, and I don't wanna deal with this shit.
Would it be too obnoxious to walk around with a giant Red Sox flag?
Would it be too obnoxious to walk around with a giant Red Sox flag?
That's the thing. I desperately need a haircut, but seeing as how I'm dressing up as Elvis for a Halloween party, I'm holding off on that (my hair pompadours pretty naturally). So, when the hair gets big, I wear a hat. I only own one hat that fits when my hair is big: a black on black Red Sox cap (those fancy 5150s, or whatever the dumbass mall kids wear with the price tag and sitckers on 'em still).

I'm prone to some pretty severe bouts of stupidity, but I don't believe I'll be wearing that tomorrow. Then again, maybe I will. It's just a hat, after all - and god knows I won't be the only one.

EDIT: For honesty's sake, I did want the Indians to win the ALCS, and I'm kinda hoping for Colorado to win the Series, too.
Would it be too obnoxious to walk around with a giant Red Sox flag?
Not at all
12:09AM edit: I love you Johnathan Papelpon
And the sox are up 2 games to none. Gonna be interested to see how they deal with the Ortiz/Lowell/Youk situation.
Ortiz will sit against Francis. Each will likely sit one game.

I think the Rockies will win one at home, most likely Saturday's game. They my win 2, and then the Red Sox can win at home! :)

Why are there different rules for the NL and AL leagues? And is the only differnce that the AL has a DH?

There are no different rules except for the DH.
The leagues were basically separate and the AL adopted the DH in 1973. The NL did not. In 2000, the American and National Leagues were officially disbanded as separate legal entities with all rights and functions consolidated in the commissioner's office.

Personally, although there are aguments either way regarding the DH, I like MLB just how it is with one league subscribing to it and the other not.

with the way ortiz is moving, I wouldn't be suprised if he is sitting more then one game. Watching him run, he looks like he is in pain.

Maybe he can be the Red Sox "Gibson" in game 4, down by 2 in the top of the 9th with bases loaded he limps out to the plate and crushes a grand slam to take the lead, then Paps comes out and sits down the side.

But in all seriousness, I think the Rockies will win tomorrow, in the bottom of the 9th. They've only had the lead in 2 or 3 of the 18 innings so far.
that hurts craven
Yeah, came off way to weird.

With that said, I think the Sox will still clinch it in Colorado, I just think it may be Monday, when fans decide, "Do I want to see the Broncos lose a meaningless game or do I want to watch the Rockies in the World Series?"

kinda suprised they didn't switch dice k and schilling again...schilling at least has swung a bat in america...when there was interleague play last time, dice k was told to not swing...
Ortiz starts tomorrow, if no one heard. Yooooouuuuuuk sits.
I think if anyone should sit, it should be Lowell. Youk is the hottest hitter on the Sox right now and the Red Sox aren't the same without Papi in the line up. But then again, any of those 3 sitting is a shame.

But then again, we'll get to see what Ellsbury can do leading off since Youk is on the bench to start the game.

Yeah, it should be interesting. Personally, I'd love to see him nail a home run though.

Speaking of which, if the series goes to game 5, I believe Beckett should bat 8th and Lugo 9th. I am not kidding. There have been times in this post season where Beckett was the 6th or 7th best hitter on the team. Ahead of Lugo, Crisp, and Drew. He wouldn't have been ahead of Ellisbury, but Francona misplaced him for the first two series.

I think Tito likes trying to win with a degree of difficulty involved.

This is why we are correct when we say the NL sucks.

And Dice-K hit the ball! Wow! He won his last game and made a hit this game! About time his 100 million started showing.
Haha, 0-4 this season, strike out earlier and now he has an RBI, yeah the Rockies are in trouble.
2 RBI.

Anyone see that sign that said "Big Papi eats Big Boogers"? Wow, Rockies fans sure are clever! That has to be one of the worst ballpark signs I've ever seen.

Dice-K is showin' off his stroke!

yeah I saw the sign, and my wife and I got a chuckle at how pathetic it was.

Can someone explain wtf francona was thinking about bring in javier. He does better vs righties then lefties. Hewpe or whatever his name is has K'd a ton this postseason as he either can't hit a 92 mph fastball, or he hasn't recovered from the 8 days off and doesn't have his timing to hit one. So Francona brings in a guy that doesn't get lefties out, and throws a fastball at his tops 86 or so.

I was thinknig the Red Sox would blow it in the 9th, but it loosk liek they will sooner.

I'm still hoping for Sox in 6!

Win at Fenway!
