MLB 2K11 CAG League Baseball - Season 2! We Made It! Playoffs! Rd 1 Due by 10/12!

I can play tonight. I also have a madden boosting session scheduled tonight as well. Not really sure what time they plan on logging on since I said anytime monday would work.
 
DarkTower beat me. It was 1-0 for most of the game, but he got a couple insurance runs in the 9th and I stranded many men on base in a losing effort. Great game.

Got in my sixth game last night with the Rockies, won 14-5 I think. I believe all I that is left is Matt and JStryker. Plus whatever happens with the Reds' games.
 
Haven't had a chance to get my 6th game in yet due to craziness in my work schedule (closed the past couple nights among working seven straight). I get off at 3:30pm EST today and 3pm tomorrow. Today may be iffy since I might have some other sessions tonight, but tomorrow definately works, and I'm available most of the day Thursday and Friday (off).

All right, trying to get this thread updated. Anybody know what's up with 2K's website though? The link for the league page is broken, and when I try to navigate to it from their main site, I can't get anywhere. Not that it's a big deal, but I have no idea how many games people have played and was hoping to update the standings.
 
Thanks for bearing with me through the move, guys. But now that I'm settled into my apartment, it seems the 2K website is acting screwy. I'll have to load up the game later to see how many games everybody has played and what we have left. But just keep trying to get games played, and we'll make it to the finish. I hate that we haven't been able to find a replacement for pitfallharry, but it appears our options are going to be giving the 3 teams scheduled to play him twice both wins, split the games 1-1, OR just drop him from the league and let the game handle it however it wants. Feel free to voice your opinions on that one.
 
I am interested to see how the game handles it if he is dropped. It's hard to pick either other option, giving two free wins isn't really fair but neither is splitting the games 1-1 and giving people lossed they didn't earn.

Edit- Regarding the community site. They apparently pulled it on July 31st. Found this post in their forums.

Wow...can't believe they pulled the entire site. I really hope there's nothing I'll need to do that can only be done on the site. I know I can drop pitfallharry in the game, but there were some administrator options that could only be accessed through the site. That's freaking lame 2K.

Yeah, definitely. I don't know how many people have been following a strict 1-5 anyway. I think as long as none of your starters make more than two starts, everything is pretty fair.

Also, I just heard we might be getting a really bad storm. Heavy rain and hail. Want to give it a shot anyways or maybe see if it'll pass? Looking at the hourly report, it looks like it should end by 11pm.

While I guess a power disconnection is possible, I'm more afraid it'll effect possible lag.
 
I won't be on XBL again for a few hours, but if we can't play tonight, Sunday works. I can also play for most of the afternoon (Pacific) tomorrow if anyone else is available in that time frame.

By 11 I'll probably be onto NHL or something. I'll be on XBL, let me know how things are on your end and we can go from there.
 
FWIW, I have two games against pitfall, but with only one win in like 8 or so games, I'll still be out of the playoff race if I get two wins.
 
Ok, I went ahead and just dropped pitfallharry from the league. Right now, it just shows "no user" for Cincinatti. The games still show as "unplayed" though, so I'm hoping that will at least give you guys the option of playing the CPU. That's probably the closest thing to fair that we're going to get.

I actually had a guy message me last night on XBL asking to join the league, but when I asked if he was on CAG, he responded with "?"...followed by another message of "?" two minutes later as I was typing a response. Then, another 30 minutes later, he asked if I had added him to the league yet. This all happened within 1-2 games of NHL, haha. Soooo...yeah, probably not a good replacement. Hopefully playing the CPU is how it will work out though. Feel free to test that out.
 
fiance is having her wedding shower and bachelorette party tomorrow so I should be on playing something all day, send me a pm on cag or via xbl if you want to get a game in

Ok. Hmm...dammit, I forgot to check the standings to see if it removed the game I played against him (I think I was the only one he played before he dropped out). If it just removes him completely, I guess that works too. Otherwise, I'm going to have one more game than most people, and two more than a few.
 
Nate / redworm / statnut available for a game today? Should be home by 4pm EST today.

Also, Thursday/Saturday are most likely the only other days that'll work for me this week.
 
So what's going on here? Was there a problem due to removing pitfallharry? And if we're still going, does anyone want to play? Only person I've been trying to schedule with is redworm but our schedules haven't matched up yet.
 
I think everybody here has intentions of finishing. We've just hit some stumbling blocks lately. The 2K site being taken down has made it harder to keep the thread up to date (as far as standings go anyway), and then some people have had trouble connecting (both schedule and internet wise).

The pitfallharry games are also completely up in the air as he's been dropped from the league, but can't be replaced by a CPU opponent, so ultimately, those games will probably have to be ruled on. I really need to go into the game and make note of what games are left to be played though. I know personally I've got two against redworm, one against Jstryke, and one against moojuice.

I think we're all a bit behind though, so hopefully we can get things moving again.
 
I've just got one against JStryke (whom I've tried to play twice to no avail), and then the two to be decided against pitfallharry.
 
I think before we decide what to do with the Reds' games everyone should play all their other games first, so we can see what impact those missing games will have on playoff races.
 
IIRC, I only got one game left thats not against Pitfall.

To add on to what Rob said, I only have one win anyways (maybe two...it's been a while), but regardless it will leave me at 500, or just under 500 anyways, if I get those two against pitfall as wins.
 
I know I have three left (not counting pitfall). 1 against each Nate, red worm, and statnut (who we've tried playing twice but can't seem to connect).

I will admit I've fallen behind for a number of reasons. Work likes scheduling me for night shifts and in my opinion, it seems harder to play in the dame time as it feels like you're restricted time wise. The others being getting ready for football season and I admit baseball has taken a backseat in my mind (since my fantasy teams have sucked balls this year).

I have some gaming sessions tomorrow but should be available after 7pm or so, and unless something comes up, can play anytime after 3pm wednesday or thursday.
 
I have been behind as well, so I just wanted to see what was up in general. Brandon, my most available time frame starts sometime between 2-3 P.M. and I've been getting to bed around 8:30 P.M. Pacific on most nights. If you'd like to play right away and I'm not on, you can also text me via the number on my Facebook page.

Same here as far as people posting in the thread and not communicating any other way. I simply haven't been awake when you have been available, so it's not your fault. Tomorrow sounds good to me.
 
Indeed it was a good game. I just wish I could've hit better with runners in scoring position. I just have 1 game left versus DarkTower and that will be no problem to get set up.
 
Bumping this because I really do want to finish this season. I think it's mostly me dragging my ass, so if Jstryke, redworm, or moojuice want to play, I'll be available for most of tonight and Saturday/Sunday from about 4 - 10 PM EST. If any of you want to play, just let me know.
 
Well, got one game in with redworm. Freaking douchebag Alexi Ogando blew a 4-0 lead and then a 9-4 lead. As usual, Darren O'Day was lights out, but considering I had to bring him in in the 6th, I couldn't really have him pitch the rest of the game (well, I could have, but that would have been a dick move).

After he kept things locked down, Darren Oliver and Neftali Feliz (of all people) blew the lead. I tied things back up 11-11 in the 9th, and in the bottom of the inning, I caught Prince Fielder in a run down between 2nd and 3rd when one of my fielders decided to launch the ball into the dugout. Shitty way to lose the game, but the way the momentum had shifted, I most likely would have lost anyway. Oh well, 3 games left.

Good game to redworm. His plate discipline was excellent...fucking pissed me off, lol. :)
 
I haven't been much better lately. Between my bad connections with statnut and work just sucking, I haven't had the best motivation to get done either. I am off until Wednesday though so in theory, I should be around most of the days tomorrow through monday (will be at a concert tuesday night).

I will be in two sessions for Quantum of Solace with some other guys, but as long as I'm not, I'm free to play.

gg for sure, I usually don't run on a missed pitch but I went for it (with my slowest runner, hoping for a misthrow) I was hoping to just get out of that situation and not get him out.

last two games have been great connection too, I was having doubts earlier this season having a couple laggy games, never seen a baseball game run this well online

It seems jza1218 and Jstryke just can't connect...which is actually kind of ironic considering that was our season one World Series matchup. I don't want to do anything with the outstanding games against the Reds until the rest of the games have been played.

Honestly, whoever qualifies for the playoffs before those games are factored in is who should make it, so that will probably influence the ruling on those games. But anyway, let's try to get these final games played this week, so we can move on to the playoffs and wrap this thing up. With NFL and NHL about to be in full swing, there's probably not much time left for baseball.

It is weird. The Rays and I tried again last night and failed to connect yet again. Weird, because when we played our world series match, it was actually after I moved to where I currently live and I don't recall any issue then.
 
I have no idea. The problem with my internet is though, my roommates are too cheap to pay for internet, so we just use the internet off the library next door. Works well enough for the most part, but when there are issues, there's nothing I can do about it.

run a speedtest, it's probably pretty bad if you are just mooching internet

While the numbers aren't good, I've ran speedtests back when I lived at the apartment and my old house and according to the speedtest had bad connection then as well.

Not sure that I get your point. Are you questioning the validity of speed tests? There are a lot of factors that can influence your connection with somebody (your download speed, your upload speed, your ping/closeness to them, any computers with viruses on your network, etc.), but it's just not logical to expect leeched wireless internet from another building to be strong enough to support online gaming.

I thought you mentioned before that your reommates play CoD and stuff too. If they actually care about online gaming, I can't imagine shitty, unreliable library internet is good enough for them. That just seems crazy. When you connect from your computer, how many bars do you get? Just trying to figure out what the signal strength could even possibly be.
