Yeah, JStryke got into a game right before he and I were set to play, but when I messaged him he switched right over.

Rob, Brandon PMed me back about playing Thursday evening or Friday during the day. Hopefully I can play both of you, but I'm going to give him priority since he responded first. I'll just tell him you said you can play at 10 Eastern and ask if he can play at a different time. I know you are pretty busy.
 
Disappointed that I didn't sign up for this since I didn't know I'd be getting the game. If you guys need a fill in or start another one I'd love to be considered for it. Can't wait to play as I'm in desperate need of a baseball fix!

That's cool, I'll be around most of the night anyhow, so send me a message on Live if you want to play another after that. Otherwise, I might be around sometime Friday afternoon.
 
Franky, glad to hear you got the game. If this season is successful, I think we're supposed to do another. I'll play you in some regular online games in the meantime.

Rob, Brandon hasn't responded I asked about a time, but unless for some reason he can't play at any other time, I see no reason why I can't play you at 10 Eastern, whether that is before or after my game with him.
 
I *might* be up for that. I should be on around 7 or 8 tonight and on until whenever I go to bed. I've been falling asleep a bit early lately so can't say for certain right now.

Of course, if anybody else is up for a game tonight, that'll work too.
 
I have a game with Brandon scheduled pretty soon followed by a game with Rob at 10 Eastern, but if I still feel like playing another one and we are both on I will message you.
 
Since everybody got their 2nd game played before the deadline, I thought I'd go ahead and throw this recap up early. Everybody did a great job finding time for their games. I'm hopeful that we can get ahead of the one game per week minimum, but there's definitely no requirement to do so. As long as we keep things moving, that's all that matters.

A little baseball PSA that I just want to throw out there - No one has any obligation to throw strikes in this game. I really don't understand why it's something people get upset about online, but it happens way more often than it should. As a hitter, it's your job to make your opponent throw strikes by being patient. If you're swinging at everything, I'd have to be crazy to throw you any strikes for fear that you might run into one and win the game. I think most everybody here probably gets that, but I just wanted to put it out there so there's no confusion or hard feelings. Other than that, keep up the great work, guys!
 
Man... 2 close losses to DarkTower and statnut. My fielding was poor, and their pitching was unbelievably good. Brandon came back from an 0-2 deficit when his bats caught fire and he started retiring every White Sox player who came to the plate. Rob and I had a great pitcher's duel going on til he scored 1 run in the 8th and held me scoreless for the game. I'm 0-3 against the NL East now, heh.

Philadelphia Phillies 4, Chicago White Sox 2

New York Mets 1, Chicago White Sox 0

Those were great games. Nate, I did see you on, but I decided early into the game with Rob that I needed to go get food after the game, so I shall challenge you another time.
 
Yes, i did. The play by play announcer kept using the name "Young", and before my fielding screwup, Young was the only player on your team to get a hit. That came after Brandon and I got 2 hits each with our starting pitchers.
 
Should be around a good bit as far as I know this weekend. Get off at 2pm tomorrow, and figure I should be on starting around 4 or 5 depending if I do anything in town afterwards. Off Sunday and Monday, although Sunday I have to most likely pick up my dad in the early afternoon and can't start a game past 6:30 or so. Can be back around 10pm that night though. Monday *should* be around all day.
 
Nate, could you please reset the Colorado/Milwaukee (moojuice/the red worm) game? We had a close game going into the 8th and it dropped. We had a close call earlier in the game with it going into the "Waiting for opponent screen," but the game resumes. When it came back in the eighth, it dropped completely. The score was 4-3, so it's too close to let it be decided an inning early like that.

P.S. This dropped third strike camera angle is really fucking with me. Threw to third probably three times against the Yankees, twice against the Brewers.

Yeah, I did that once in a league game as well. It probably doesn't help that I'm used to playing as a first baseman in My Player mode to begin with.
 
Yup, that's pretty much the exact reason I keep flubbing that play. Since the camera is suddenly reverse, I think that first base is left on the right stick, but the directions really aren't changed at all.
 
Leaving a mental note for myself here that apparently I keep hitting the A button too soon and locking my roster so I can never edit it before a game. Part of me wishes it didn't do that, but oh well.

Ah, man. I wish you would have just quit out of the game or said something. I tried to hit start as soon as possible when the preview screen loaded so there wouldn't be any confusion (I've been saying we should have the home team enter the roster screen). I guess it worked out in your favor anyway. I just hope that was only the 1st or 2nd time you've pitched Hanson.

What's crazy (and really annoying) is I've set my lineups at least 5 times, and even did it right before I challenged you, and the fucking thing still didn't hold. I barely had enough time to fix their terrible mess of a lineup in 30 seconds. I really hope that can be fixed in a patch because it's a glaring problem.
 
I need to get another game or two in soon and I should be able to get on tonight around 10:00 PM est if someone would like to tentatively plan for it.

It was only the second time so no big deal yet. I just have to watch out for that now a little more carefully.

Although now that you mention it, here's a question. If that does happen again to me in the future and I quit out right away, would the game need to be reset by you or no? Not sure how far it has to have gone before a reset is needed.

@Chris - I can play tonight. I'd like to get a little more ahead than I am as well if possible since next week at work is going to be a bit long for me and I can easily see myself not wanting to play on a work night because of it.

As long as you quit out before the first pitch is thrown, the game won't count. I did that in my game with chriscolbert and it worked fine.

I will say this though, whoever is the home team, PLEASE be the one to press start to enter the lineup screen. I can't imagine anybody not needing to check their lineup, so it's just easier if we designate someone to do it so there's no confusion. At the least, everybody should be checking who they have pitching.

Got in a great game with JStryke tonight and my Red Sox beat his Braves 4-2. Heyward crushed a solo shot off Beckett in his first AB but then he settled down and got in a really good groove. Lowe was dealing and I struck out a total of 13 times but got lucky with some timely hitting but still have yet to hit a home run.
 
Again, another great job by everyone making sure they got their 3rd game played on time this week. Most of us are still ahead of schedule, which is great. There's definitely a lot of jockeying going on in the standings as well, with no clear cut favorite. Should make for an interesting battle for the four playoff spots!
 
I know many of you are in cag hockey together and that is cool but could you add next to your profiles in OP or something what nights are hockey nights so I can have an idea when to try and get a game in with you.

I'm actually off tomorrow and Wednesday if anyone wants to try to get a day game in. I can be on late (after 10:00 PM EST) as well on most nights if anyone who needs to play me (Red Sox) wants to set up a time.

I haven't spent much time playing video games or borwsing the forums lately. I did contact theredworm about a week and a half ago but he said he wouldn't be able to play any time for the rest of that week, and I haven't been on much since. If either or both of you guys want, we can probably do our 2 games with each other in one sitting. Can't say for sure right at this moment, but tomorrow night (as in night Pacific time) might work.

I know I also have a game with chriscolbert, but since it appears that he can play in the evenings, that shouldn't be too difficult to schedule.

I work till 1030 pm cst then going to pick up Portal 2 at midnight. Wednesday and Friday are my best days to play, other days it's usually pretty late when I'd be on if I even get on.

I should be able to play late tonight if that's when you're around. On Wednesday, the wife and I are going to Nashville to do some job hunting and look at houses. I won't be back till Sunday. Just let me know if you can play tonight. I should be on from 10 PM EDT to probably 2-3 AM EDT.
 
Well I picked quite the opportune time to hit my first HR. Tied at 1 in the eighth against the Rockies I got a couple of guys on and decided to pinch-hit David Ortiz for Jarrod Saltalamacchia. The Rockies then brought in Lindstrom and I crushed the first pitch for a three-run shot. I couldn't believe it. It seemed like every move I made actually worked the way I envisioned it, including bringing in Okajima to face a lefty with men on and getting an inning-ending double play in the seventh.

I'm absolutely loving playing in this league. It may help that I've been lucky to have a 3-1 record so far, but it looks like most games are close and could go either way and at least for me it seems to always come down to one inning where I'm able to string together a few hits as opposed to a constant HR derby.

If anyone who needs to play me wants to try to get a game in at some point tonight around 10:00 or after let me know and I can be on. I know I haven't played the White Sox, Mets, or Phillies yet and I have no idea who I have to play again.
