MLB 2K11 CAG League Baseball - Season 2! We Made It! Playoffs! Rd 1 Due by 10/12!

Again, if someone would like to play later on tonight, let me know. We might have CAG hockey night going, but I'm not sure since it's playoff time and our team already finished. Then again, half the league is already quite aware of that fact. :p

As far as the mic thing goes, I'm cool with not using it. I do seem to concentrate better. However, with all the CAG hockey guys in here, we chat frequently and I didn't know what the preference was. I can go either way. I think I've played with every single person in this league on at least 1 other game.

Rosters for ranked are all fucked up. Playing a ranked game, Phil Humber was made to be my starter. In real life barely made the rotation due to Peavy's injury woes, and in the game his stats are not suited for starting pitching. Edwin Jackson was set in the long reliever role when he should have been in the rotation at #4. Why the ranked game set my bootleg #5 starter to pitch, I don't know.

League rosters were ridiculously messed up as well. I had to alter every single lineup last night. The proper vs. lefty and vs. righty lineups weren't set up, and the batting order was completely jumbled. Also, Adam Dunn was an outfielder in every lineup, with Ramon Castro as DH. I'm glad I checked before playing any league games.

Has anyone else had the same problem with assholes quitting in ranked matches?

I've only played the one online ranked game...which I lost, and then was called a "$$$$$$ bitch" for "never throwing strikes". Not really in a big hurry to play more ranked games.

As for the lineups/pitching rotation, my first impression was that it's just random. The game obviously has its view on what the "proper" lineup should be, but as far as selecting a pitcher for you, it seems like it just randomly picks from 1-5. It's a noble concept, but I doubt it will prevent people from using their aces in every ranked game (which is pretty much the trend for online baseball).

Rob and I discussed something interesting last night. With the way the league handles rosters it seems that our teams will change every week with the current online roster. For example, right now, we've got expanded rosters due to Spring Training, but when the Opening Day rosters hit, everybody's team should be reduced to 25 guys.

Injuries are also going to play into this, so whatever happens to your team in real life will probably be reflected in your available roster. It kinda takes an element of control away from the player since you could all of a sudden lose one of your best players. But hopefully it won't get too crazy. I'm just happy the games are playable. The rest we can deal with.

Generally I don't bother playing against strangers, for all the reasons you guys have stated. That's why Hockey Ultimate Team is such a bummer to me.

I don't either, but I needed to get some practice and there was literally 1 person in the extremely hard to find lobby system for the game. He was in the custom settings lobby and... no thanks on a strikes only game, pal. Both games were going extremely well till the douchebags quit.

Any idea what time? And are we doing hockey night at all? I just received my 3DS, but I still stand by my statement of wishing to play 1 or 2 league games. I am the only one who hasn't played yet, and it's been my own fault for intentionally holding off due to lack of any real playing time with the game before last night. I owe it to everyone to catch up.
Im sure no one will mind if we slip away for a bit and have some alone time :whistle2:\"
Stealing this from Shady, but...

I should be on around 9:30-10 PM EDT. If we've got people on wanting to play hockey, I'm fine doing that since they'd definitely be some relaxed, laid back games. But if there's not a big crowd for that, I'd be up for playing MLB.
I'm already online Matt.
Okay, I will be on in the aforementioned time frame. Rob, I'm sure I can play you later on as well.

I had a glitch in the redsox game, my right fielder couldn't enter an area of right field that he should've been able to get to when the ball was there. I was pretty pissed off when he was just standing there like I was running into a wall and the ball was laying on the ground.

this sucks cause Zach Greinke is unavailable to me now and I'm waiting to have Corey Hart taken out of the lineup

Yeah, it will definitely keep things "interesting". This is probably another benefit of having a short season. We can learn from it and switch things up if we want for the next season.

I've lost Johan Santana, so I share your pain.

AJ Burnett is day to day, but I still have to use him. No one knows my pain.

Nate, when are we going to play? You already know what happened last night, but then you never responded to my message asking if we could play sometime today.

I don't listen to voice messages after I've turned my headset off. They're impossible to understand through my TV speakers. I can play tonight around 10 PM EDT. I just want to make sure I'm done before midnight when our banner gets raised.

Okay, but even though that was the case Tuesday night, you could have listened to it during the time you were online yesterday. I also plan to be there for the banner raising, especially since I probably won't be home tomorrow night.

I didn't play any multiplayer yesterday...and thus, didn't touch my headset. By the same token, you could have typed a message.

I wasn't on the Xbox at all yesterday, nor did I know then that you wouldn't have listened to the voice message. Going to Walmart now, but hopefully we can play when I get back.

I've still been trying to get games played, so if anyone wants to play and can actually play at the times they say they will be available, let me know.

Anyone up for a game in the next 10 minutes or so? Mr. Redworm, perhaps? I'm in a baseball mood, and won't have much time to play tomorrow, nor any on Sunday.

Like I just posted in the MLB season discussion thread... Wild, wacky Opening Day for my White Sox in Cleveland. Went up 14-0 through 3 & 2/3 innings; Indians scored 4 off Buehrle in the 6th; Ohman shit the bed in the 7th, giving up 3 runs in 2/3 of an inning. Sox had replaced half the lineup mid-game and Lastings Milledge's error on what would have been an easy grab for Juan Pierre allowed 2 runs to score. But the Sox held on to win 15-10 in a crazy marathon game. Whew.

I can be back on in a little while, gotta get some dinner and run around town a bit.

Sorry, but I only had a very limited window of time to start the game; I just figured I'd give it a try on the off chance that someone might be available right then. I did get your message on Xbox.com though and I am sending you a friend request right now. Got a friend coming over soon since we're going to a hockey game. The final 2 games of Ontario's ECHL season are tonight and tomorrow, hence the lack of availability. I can start a game (with you or anyone) between 2-4 P.M. Pacific/5-7 P.M. Eastern time tomorrow, or I can probably play either tonight or tomorrow night after returning home from the hockey games, but that will be pretty late in the evenings.
I made it two outs in, not really trying. I don't even have the camera available to record the whole game.
I think I got to the third inning before I allowed a base runner.

Sorry I couldn't play, just had a limited amount of time before I had to start work.

Can anyone play tonight after 6 P.M. Pacific/9 P.M. Eastern? If not, how about setting something up for tomorrow?

I might get on before the second half of the UConn/Butler game so maybe we can get one in.

I have no idea when that is. I probably won't have my Xbox turned on unless a game is arranged, so do you have any idea how likely it is that you'll be on and around what time? I see that the NCAA game is starting a little before 9:30 Eastern, but I hardly watch any college ball.

Sorry, looks like I probably won't be on tonight. My wife wanted to watch an episode of Mad Men before she went to bed and now it's halftime of a close game so I'll most likely just watch that since I'm a sucker for major sporting events even if I'm not rooting for anyone.

I'll likely be on around 1 AM if anyone wants to play, though I can't swear I'll be up for an online game at that point.

Watching the game tonight. Might be up for a game tomorrow night. Get off at 5pm, but don't know if I'll have to drive my dad to town after I get off or how we're doing arrangements.

I'm also off all day Wednesday.

No problem, chriscolbert. Totally understandable.

Rob, I'm tired as hell myself. Guess I'll see what's up with you later on if I'm still conscious and if you are up for it.

JStryker, I can play tomorrow from 7 P.M. Eastern on, and perhaps earlier. Wednesday should be about the same.

Played a great game with JStryker (Braves). He shut my bats down for the first few innings while taking a 1-0 lead before I tied it up with a Carlos Quentin homer and then carried a 2-1 lead for several innings. We both kept stranding runners on base. Adam Dunn alone struck out 4 times with men on- once with the bases loaded.

The Braves tied it up in the 8th and then drilled a 2 run homer off Will Ohman in the top of the 9th. The White Sox got 2 men on base in the bottom half of the 9th, but Dunn again was sat down on strikes. With 2 outs, Paul Konerko hit a long fly that I thought might be a walkoff home run, but it was caught a few feet shy of the warning track. Awesome game, JStryker!

Atlanta Braves 4, Chicago White Sox 2

I hope I don't have to wait til the day before the deadline to get my game in for the next week. Seems like very few people are reading the thread. Most people have been responding to my PM's even if they can't play, but aside from Nate and statnut last week, no one's actually contacted me asking if I want to play a game.

That is one thing I noticed and it may just be how certain people are in general. Some people take the lead, others wait for an invite to be sent. While I'd hate to single him out, when I was playing theredworm last week, we both weren't sure who was going to send in the invite.

As for that home run in our game by Brooks Conrad, I'm going to call that a Cameron Maybin moment as a similar thing happened in a game I was watching a few days ago. Padres and Cardinals, 3-2 in the bottom of the 9th with Maybin to bat. I figured the game was over. He ties the game with a home run to send it to extras. Brooks Conrad, can't say I was expecting him to jack one out either. The smile on my face. :D

no, I was trying to send you an invite but you went into a mlb today game when I was trying to send it and sent you the "?" message on live
