It's going to be tough for me to score with the Rangers as well. Lofton seems to hardly get on base. Catalanotto is decent, but the only real solid part of their lineup is the 3, 4, 5 spots (Young, Teixeria, and Blaylock). The bottom of their pitching rotation is bad, too.

Looking forward to the challenge, though. Let's get this league going already!

I agree with the fact that prior is overrated in the game, but hell he is pretty good. Mr. Ryles, I'll trade him for Ichiro, and thats bout it. We can work a several man deal possibly.

I would probably be willing to do that straight up. Again I am not to familiar with the Mariners (I just picked them as I thought they would be the best team out of the teams left) but I may want to do a multiplayer deal and try to get another outfielder to replace Ichiro, but I am not to sure who they have to replace him. I think Willie Bloomquist players outfield for them. If so you got yourself a deal of Ichiro for Prior.

All 3 of those are huge stretches for Prior, even at his peak. But to each his own.


Along with Schilling, Lugo, and Drew, I am going to throw Crisp, Youk, and Lowell as well into the trading block.

Edit: I am looking to get a power 1B, a decent SS with some speed, and a decent CF.
 
So we're not using the steadily updated online rosters?

I'd rather use those than be able to make our own trades. What's gonna prevent somone from doing a player dump as we ner the end of season?

Not too sure if free agency is an option or not. But I see where you are coming from.
 
No if we wait we can get the opening day rosters but i dont think free agency is an option. ONce you get a roster you stick with it theres nothing you can do. They butchered the Devil Rays roster and i know just about every other roster so if you guys want to wait until the opening day rosters come out to start let me know

If that works for everyone else, then I'm all for it. Hopefully the Red Sox will get a bonafide closer by then, or someone will step up.
 
I dont mind if we wait till opening day.

The red sox should just put Papelbon in as the closer.

I think we should forego trades in the league to keep things simple and fair for everyone.
 
I would rather not wait for opening day and go ahead with the Feb. 28 rosters.

However, like in most cases, we will never say never.

I'm not really looking for a trade per se, I just thought I'd offer it up if someone was interested. I thought, instead of offering up like 3 names, I'd say who I would prefer to keep.

Why does it always seem like people are so quick to jump on people on message boards just to say something disconstructively negative or condescending?
 
if i came off as negative then my bad, I was just trying to point out it would be hard to land a top 1b for what you have on the table. Speaking of what you are willing to trade I will offer up Loney and someone else for Markakis but I can't trade away Nomar for anyone thats not on your list. Again sorry if I sounded rude its just hard to really express yourself sometimes when you type.

Also, has anyone gone to check their leagues and had it say there were none. I went today, and it said "no leagues were found" but I have checked before and our league comes up. Am I still in it? I am the cubs.

Ah, no. Sorry. Ut and Howard are the 2 most untouchable players on my team.

That being said, I think I agree with no trades, as to prevent player dumps.
