Awesome. It would be great to see a Fedor fight for my first live event. I've only been to small shows here in Texas, and when UFC 105 tickets went on sale for Dallas, they were sold out before they were even available to the general public so I had no chance. Enjoy the fight!
UFC 103 you mean? Yeah me too those fuckers gobbled them all up. I was following Dana's twtter to see where he would be, cause he would give out free tickets. Does he still do that? Oh well, they said they were coming to the new Cowboy's stadium this year. I wonder when we will hear more about it?

Yeah I meant 103. And I heard about Dana wanting to come to Cowboys stadium. That shit is going to be expensive. Its already rough just trying to watch a footbll game there.

That sounds like a bad bad idea. I'm sure renting out the facility is expensive as fuck, and as big as UFC and MMA are right now, it's not enough to justify the costs of running an event there.

Unless they have some sort of super-card where basically every single belt is on the line, which is unlikely.

Its already a done deal. The article popped up a couple of months ago.

I'm in shock. I knew that people weren't giving Werdum enough credit, but I absolutely didn't think he was going to win, especially in the first round.

Damn, wish I would have bet on Werdum; what a win. I say Fedor vs Rogers 2, as we all know that Overeem would destroy Fedor and Werdum just had a Buster Douglas moment.

Wanted to add that it was funny they said Scott Smith had worked on his head movement; he looked like a statue just asking to get hit by not moving his head.

Cyborg needs to move up to Mens LW for some real competition and be the first person ever to have belts in to different classes of different genders.

i had a bad feeling about this fight, when I heard the comments about retiring something felt off.
how many of you saw that shit coming as soon as fedor dove in? fedor is a smart fighter, im really shocked that he did that. he pulls out once and falls right back in? thats not right. im glad it was werdum instead of rogers or arlovski though.

seriously? this is the kind of shit thats just ridiculous. the guy gets subbed once and now "everyone" knows overeem would destroy him. im not even goign to look at sherdog for a month because its going to be flooded with that kind of stupid shit.

Their forums are down right now it looks like, everyone must have been rushing over there to post how he is trash now and needs to be cut and retire

You had to figure Fedor was gonna lose at some point, but you pretty much went into every fight figuring it wasn't gonna be for a little while yet

Hahaha I'm so glad I was there for Fedor's first loss. All the Fedor cheerleaders left before his hand tapped the second time. It was awesome. I'm a Fedor fan but I hate his mystique being such a bullshit bargaining chip and I can't stand those idiots at M1-Global.

Yeah, I'm hoping this will open Fedor up to fighting more/not being so protected by M1.

We all knew this would happen someday, now with the mystique gone maybe we can go back to just watching Fedor kick ass without this overlying conversation about his greatness.

Edit: Sidenote, maybe Werdum can finally start getting some respect. The guy only has 4 losses and they all came from good opponents.

Well just saw my first live MMA event last night. Good stuff. A lot of fun and I have a new respect for the damage the strikes inflict. You don't get a good feel for it on TV. Especially the short punches to the ribs and stomach when on the ground. Also, I got drunk as hell and now having a raging hangover.
He aint coming to the UFC now.
Kind of funny coming from a Lesnar fan. If you had it your way, he would have been bounced out of the UFC after his first loss against Mir.

Anyways, Fedor was very classy in defeat.

“The one who doesn’t fall never stands up,” said Emelianenko, the former PRIDE heavyweight champion, through an interpreter. “It happened that people made me an idol. But everybody loses. I’m just a human being. And if it’s God’s will next fight, I’ll win.”

Emelianenko said after the fight it was the triangle, not the armbar, that did him in.

“At the very beginning of the round, I hit him and I wanted to finish as soon as possible,” he said. “At that moment, I made a mistake. I would like to have a rematch with Fabricio if he was to agree. I’d love to do that.

“There were several moments when I could escape, but I relied on myself too much and that’s why I paid for it. At the very moment when I had to escape, I stopped, and that moment was used for Fabricio to lock it on.”

If you are saying this insinuating that he's not coming to the UFC because he lost and isn't good enough for the UFC then you are a raving douche. He was the best fighter in the world for almost 10 years and just had his first real loss of his career lol. I mean I think he has been slightly past his prime for a few years now but c'mon. If he kept fighting he was going to lose at some point, everybody loses at least once. Until he lost he was still the best fighter in the world IMO but now that time has passed, end of an era of dominance, ect.

He now is worth less than before though (however he is still Fedor). Very shocking he lost although maybe Werdum is really underrated or like said before had a "Buster Douglas" moment.

You fedor guys are mad, check your fucking tampons. What I said was taken out of context. I want him in the UFC, I want him to fight the bigger guys like brock and see some other fights. At the same time, Dana will use this as a way to not get fedor in the UFC, because his legacy is tainted. You guys should not take shit so seriously.

To sporadic, Why would I want that? I want him to fight Brock so much and there are a couple of pther fightes I would like to see him fight.

One last thing

How is this even fair? So you win too quickly you have to fight again. This just shows you there is NOTHING in the HW division of SF, except alistair, fedor and werdum. Hell fedor might get a title shot now since he lost, it will be just like brett rogers. Strikeforce is starting to be a joke in my eyes.

Well, the problem with Strikeforce is lack of depth as many have said before. When you only have 6 different guys fighting for the title the match-ups get stale fast. I enjoy SF as a discount promotion to go see in person but in terms of the MMA world the UFC has the best stable to offer different match-ups consistently.

Fedor has now proved to be an expensive endeavor since he took down their up and coming Rogers and now has lost to a UFC throw-away in Werdum and misses the highly anticipated matchup vs Overeem (I think Fedor retires after this contract expires).

I wanted to add that re-watching Cyborg v Finney is very painful. Finney has heart but the new female ref just shows no mercy stopping the fight a whole 5 minutes later than it should have. If you watch the second round starting at 4:12 you'll see that the ref asks for Finney to respond (Finney stays turtled' up); finally the fight is called more then a minute later.

If the same ref was in charge when Cyborg faced Carano, that fight may have been a decision.

That fight should have been stopped in the 1st round. That's the first time I've literally felt bad for the other fighter. Finney was so outclassed it was ridiculous. Cyborg just used her as a punching bag.

I like how those dummies (announcers) were saying at the start of the second round how great Finney is for standing up with Cyborg and how she's gained a lot of fans. For what? Absorbing punches for 5 minutes without losing consciousness? She offered zero danger to Cyborg and the only reason she made it to the second round was because as seen pointed out, the ref refused to stop the fight. It was almost getting sadistic.

Just watched the weigh-ins...I can't believe Brock actually makes Carwin looks small.

I want Lesnar, but I think there's going to be some ring rust and Carwin's stand-up game is way better.....
We haven't really seen Brock's chin put to the test, and this will be quite the test.
he ate that mir knee flush.
i have no idea how this fight is gonna go down, surely an interesting matchup.
