Trust me, you can't be a worse host than me. I seem to get kicked from every game that I'm in a party with that I'm host. But it's always good to have a shitty hosting connection when I'm on my own. :D

Edit: This should be fun for a few days, then it might get kinda annoying. Hopefully one of us can get "infected" for game night so we can mess around in privates.

I got infected today, and I must say, IT'S SO FUN! It's hard to get used to at first, but then it's sick. There's actually a glitch where you can get on top of the house on Bailout, then out of the map, which is cool. Then there's a Karachi glitch, to get on a roof, and then you can get on the Terminal plane.

Me and my friends are probably gonna try some more glitches later, but it's more fun to just play Search with super speed.

On a stormy night my PS3 YLOD'd. I went to Best Buy but they had no PS3s. I went to Toys R Us and they had no PS3s. Went to Sears, 2 Gamestops and Target, they had no PS3s.

Meh. Hito, find me one of the 2100A models in joisey, pls.

I'll be on the look out tomorrow then when i make my target, walmart, and best buy runs. btw that sucks seems like a new model is coming out when E3 hits hehe
 
I heard there is a temporary fix for a YLOD'd PS3. But it is guaranteed to fail within a month.

Just used for getting a quick backup, and deactivating your account.

I'm actually doing a crap ton of reading about my PS3 60 gig that I didn't know about. I think I'm going to go the whole 9 yards and try to repair it. Gilksy's flux and reflow, 40 gig power supply and possibly the new 19 blade fan if I need it. I know how to solder pipe, so the concept is familiar in that sense but it'll be my first time attempting anything with electronics. At the very least I'll be able to keep my PS2 games if I get it to work right.

madder - sorry to hear the news. my 60 gig ylod last week. if you come across any good articles or sources, I would be interested to read them too. i haven't heard of the 40 gig power supply.

I had my best game ever last night. Playing demolition went 75/5/26 on salvage. It was like everyone who popped up in front of me died. I only wish I had a nuke killstreak because that would have been nice to get my nuke cherry popped.

My family guests are gone so I will be able to play during my normally scheduled game times... yay!
 
Man mad i looked around the JC area primarily Best buy, Target, and the Gamestops at Newport and nothing. Seems really bizarre but I have yet to go to the ToysRUs yet

This dry spell of PS3s seems really weird.......
 
*May* be on in a couple of hours..pretty severe storm moving through and lost power once already....btw - I got dropped/booted yesterday. That's happened a number of times lately when Mad hosts...forget if it was Skydive last night.....anyway....that ping of mine made "superman" mode almost unplayable for me.

So, who dares me to spend another 3 months to prestige? lol

i read that reflow is a temporary fix. its good enough for you to deactivate your accounts and back up your saves. and i read that the true problem is that x360 and ps3 use nonlead solder connectors because its classified as a potential toy to kids. kids' toys can't have lead. so the solder crumbles. satelite grade solder components use lead-based solder. the true fix is to reball your ps3 with lead solder. I'm wondering if a new PS3 will resolve the network issues I've had. I'll have to try one out when they become available.
 
Okay mad doing a search on ToySRus listed the one in Union to have some PS3s. To be honest I hate Union county but at least its not Bayonne.

Okay quick update. Well I checked target's website again and apparently the Jersey City store got some in stock. But I cant confirm this in person yet. But since my target changed to the plastic prisons it seems they can only hold like 3 consoles in those displays. Unless they hold them in the back. Well I might swing around tomorrow and take a look. Unless you want to go to Brooklyn.......

I can't see going to Brooklyn, it's bad enough I have to go out there for work every once in a while. If you swing by the one in Jersey City I'd consider going out there to grab one but we may have to meet up and do some Ketel One shots while pretending to be Russian if that's the case.

Union is actually do-able for me too, since I end up in Jersey usually once a day. I was in New Brunswick and South Plainfield today for instance but I can't see hunting down anything unless it's definitely a 2100 model. I wonder if those got a new sku that can be matched for Proof of Life?
 
Hmmmm...okay, so my last "hosting" session made me think about getting a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem and possibly bumping up my connection. That could help me a bit...though I am not riding my hopes on that killing the latency....probably after I visit NYC....and let Mr. Margarita steer me to a few places....Hito is welcome to input into my debauchery with the Mrs as well.

I dunno, I just always see you play that. I'm more of a SnD and Ground War guy myself. I just like the SnD risk and the GW amount of players.
 
I think Kefka really likes S&D, but not so much when people dont have ninja, cause they get him killed... Ground Wars is reserved for those times when the party size is 7+, and CTF is fun with 6 because we wreck the other team. Kefka can really go killstreak crazy on CTF, and so can Mad and Hito. "who called in the pablo?"

We were on a S&D binge not too long ago. However we warm up with CTF because not everybody plays on the same page when we start up a match. We've done countless Demo matches that forever earned me a serious reputation for being an insane bomb planter. CTF is a friendly game anybody can play, there is no noob-breaking in nor disappointment when anybody performs poorly. There is much more cursing going on in S&D when we play with a not so rounded team and so we usually hold off until we have a rounded team but all the times I've invited you, usually you miss out on countless Ground Wars games and several S&D matches.

Ya, I see your invites but I'm usually playing with some friends from college. I'll probably be playing a lot tomorrow until my new headphones come in.
 
Just a reminder, I'll be missing a couple of game nights until this PS3 issue of mine is resolved. That means Kefka is officially not allowed to WoW on game nights. Muahaha.

Heh...unless I am involved and you see my massive 1 vs 3 in Crash when they rush me. Of course, Hito was behind me...got lit up (my assumption) and my game losing death via shotgun.

Fell asleep last night & only got on to play 1 game of Tecmo Bowl...the memories.

alright i got a prestige question...now that im prestiged and have prestige challenge category and under the classes the prestige challenge for that specific category of weapon...my question is do these categories get reset as well when i prestige again

I think that the only ones that dont really reset are the total headshot and kill counts for each weapon. They are highlighted so you can tell them apart. As pertaining to the prestige challenges, I think they reset every prestige, so dont really focus on those unless you are going to finish that particular challenge to unlock the emblem and/or title, or if you need the xp to level.

I have realized to just stick with a select few guns and level those while ticking off the kills/headshot counts. Since you have to unlock the damn attachments every time, it is such a tedious task, especially FMJ->extended mags.
 
Hey Mad I checked the ToysRus in Paramus and they do have PS3s and i believe it to have the new chips inside. I dont no if that is too far from you. But I think you said you were in East Brunswick for work one time and according to ToysRus's website they also have PS3s. Not too sure if they have the new chips but more than likely they would.
Just out of curiosity are all the new PS3s rolling off the plants have the new chips?

*If your wondering the ToysRus is the one on Route 4 not the one on Route 17

New PS3 bundle coming out for Fodder's day will end up being my choice, ty for looking though. I travel regularly to Monroe/Englishtown area though, mostly I work where the work is, so Monroe to Monmouth Junction and from there as far north as lets say Elizabeth. If you ever want to do Arirang on Rt 9 let me know, we can always do Bourbon Street or Delilahs after. Rawr. If I were ever to make that offer to Noobkill I'd probably have to suffer going to a gay club like Escuelita in the city where the Latin drag queens have a shot at one upping our Night Elf Mohawk motorboater.
 
Lol Escuelita...... I remember one of my friends from college told me about that place and how his friend dragged him to it. Lets just say he didnt know what type of crowd hangs out there and someone ended up getting punched in the face lol. (But it probably be a good place for Noobkill to meet some fellow WoW addicts :p )
To be honest I don't no what sounds better that place or this korean bar in Korea Town. I remember going there with 5 friends from college at the discretion of one of them and i was like dude something doesnt feel right. I dont feel its me cause I look like all the other asians, but I think its you being Puerto Rican trying to sing korean Karaoke. (I asked one of my friends who knows korean and apparently he sang the words "O baby you make me feel so good when your in me" Okay that can mean many of things but really we all know what is truly meant :booty:) Or maybe spending like 30 dollars for a bottle of Korean alcohol that only had like 2 ounces of liquor in it....... It was good but for 30 dollars there needs to be more alcohol. Drinking in the city is fun but man o man is it expensive.

But back to PS3. no biggie on the search. I was in the area after dropping my friend. But what's in the father day bundle? God of War? I might want to get a second PS3 for as a back up and dedicated bluray player when I move back to school in a couple of weeks.

Fodders day bundles look to include Little Big Planet: GOTY edition and Infamous/Uncharted. I'd snag the one with Uncharted since I don't have that yet. Walmart has a couple of things going on that makes it look flexible, I may just wait out til E3 since it looks like these are 2000 models though.

PS3s are the two fitties, I'm going to keep an eye on the stuff, since it seems like there's going to be a lot of competition in the next two weeks. Gamestop and Best Buy seem to be throwing down right now.
 
You might even get Amazon in on the throwdown....and see about a different account & some free prime test drive (do they still have that?).

Eh, everyone be glad they didn't game with me....every domination match I ended up with was already in progress and losing....no one else had a mic, they never listened on what the important point to cap was and they were all noob tube fests or extremely laggy. I played about 5-6 matches before finally getting into a demo match that was okay.

Might be on tonight....and I didn't have server problems....just my ususal 3 bar ping. :)

Oh - Kefka you are right about the headphones. I think I am finally starting to hear everything and people sneaking up on me...it does take a while with playing 1 hr/night. Got to train those senses...but it finally started kicking in....eh, old age.
 
I have a question about crate etiquette. I was playing CTF and threw out my care package marker; and was subsequently mowed down. Respawned and made my way over to where my crate was, just as some guy was asking, "Who's Chopper is this?" I grabbed it, called it in, and moved on. But it got me thinking:

1) Is it ever OK to take someone else's crate? How long do you let one sit there unclaimed before taking it?

2) You "collect" (white progress bar) your own crate faster than somebody else's, right?
