Modern Warfare 3 $51.99 at Bestbuy.com and Amazon
Correct. 10% off $60 makes it $54. Think you can figure it out from there.
But wait wouldn't tax apply to the 51.99 price as well ?
Why is this a surprise ? They have 3 cod teams !!!! I do hope they make a sifi/futuristic cod. They could call it call of duty 2034 or something
It's sarcasm.

But a COD based on the year 2034 would be cool actually.

Basically look like Gears of War with a COD gameplay :bouncy:

P.S.

A new Assassin's Creed game was also announced for 2012:

http://www.lensoftruth.com/ubisoft-confirms-new-assassins-creed-game-for-2012/

Milk it real gooooooood!
I guess the price match seems better than the coupon no ?
$6 vs $8. Not big enough of a difference for me to go back and change the price. Wish they stacked though.

I guess I'll finally try to get over to BB to pick up my copy. I guess I can put down a pre-order on CoD14 while I'm there also, or should I just send a check directly to Mr. Kotick?
Reading more articles from the above articles, especially CODMW3...

It seems that a lot, I mean a LOT of gamers are upset with the title, including reasons that Infinity Ward actually recycled buildings and stages from the original CODMW1 into CODMW3:

Lol!

Anyone think this game might be $39.99 to $49.99 come Black Friday like CODMW2 from last year?
Man you better put that ganga down lol. You have to remember that mw2 was a year old by the time black friday happened last year. I could see black ops for that price however

You're right Black Ops at least should be on sale.

These annual versions are getting a bit ridiculous if you ask me. BUT, a future/sci-fi COD or Battlefield would be awesome. Personally would rather see it as a Battlefield title, just to see some really cool futuristic vehciles. Maybe some hover transports or tanks. VTOL flying vehicles. Dawn of War type orbital attack weapon of some kind.

all that with cool laser effects, maybe some robotic/mech types, a jet pack here and there and specialized armor (ala Crysis) would be super sweet

Sign me up for a game that has all that! Oh wait, did I just describe Halo? LOL...

^ yes it will drop to $50 in 2 weeks time. why? because amazon didnt have any good preorder deals so they are guaranteed to have a higher than needed inventory of this game. they might unload it as a lightning deal for 40-50 on BF cyber munday. if amazon offered a 20$ preorder bonus im sure they would be more reluctant to lower the price as fast. but it is MW33 which is actually MW2 with 16 new maps and a new 3 hour campaign with the same renamed perks and recycled guns.
But wait wouldn't tax apply to the 51.99 price as well ?
Tax will be applied to both, so don't know what you are tryin to say as the lower price will have less to tax. so the $52 for a PM.

10% off $60 is $6. $60-$6 is $54 before tax.

Pm for $51.99 is before tax.

So $52 has 2 less taxable dollars so in OH that saves $0.14 (6.975% tax).

Hopefully that answers your question as I am not sure what you were asking.

I think they should make a fishing simulator complete with a full weapons arsenal and call it simply "COD MF" (Modern Fishing). I bet they would sell a few million before anyone realized the multiplayer sux. Would be just the kind of sneaky Activision move we are used to.

They already did a future Battlefield game, Battlefield 2142. I don't think it did as well as the others, but they could revisit it if enough people want it. The "modern" setting has gotten kind of old.

anyone have trouble price matching because they bought a 12 month live card for 35 with MW3? because im on the way to do it now, a heads up would be great.

If they give you grief just say you are going to do a return/rebuy. As it would be stupid to not PM it down considering the promo is still active...

was able to price match it down to 51.99 when i went to go pick up my preorder at BBY. no hassle whatsoever but it did take a bit longer than usual becuz the CSR had to get manager approval to discount 8 dollars.

guess we are not getting any more price match from amazon. really dont think ill order it at 57.99 as I have a 20 dollar credit which would be awesome to have towards it.
Say I don't want to use my credit card on BB.com; will the game be 51.99 in store?
Grab the game and head to CS or just do the transaction in the gaming department. It rings up at $59.99 (confirmed by a poster here), but just tell them it is $51.99 at BBY.com. They will PM it and take $8 off.
So using the 10% coupon negates us from all future price matches?
If anyone has used a 10% coupon and price matched could you let me know? thanks
no, they just deduct the difference from the sale price you paid & the pm price.
If you paid $54 w/the 10% & it's $50 on sale you'll get $4 back, they're not going to take 10% off the $50 price AFTER the fact.
do you have a link for the 10?% coupon or is it one that was mailed to you?
just text "RZ", "SILVER" & "PREMIER" to 332211 & you'll get the coupons sent automatically to your phone monthly. After you continue to use them the reg. ones sent in the mail will start showing up also.
So can we price match if we've already used the 10% off coupon. Also, will the have to return the game and do a rebuy, I think that risks the chances of messing up your 5 for 100 .. I usually buy my pre orders from bestbuy.com so its easy just to call and get the price adjusted.. this time though I purchased it in store, so does that mean I have to adjust in store only or can it also be done on the phone?? Thanks!!
BB.com must be on the phone & store ones need to be done in-store since if you paid in cash there's way for them to refund cash over the phone. A return will forfeit the 5 for $100 but not a "price match" or "price adjustment"

READ what USERS have to say about MW3 before you buy this Turd:

http://www.metacritic.com/game/play...are-3/user-reviews?sort-by=date&num_items=100

http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox...are-3/user-reviews?sort-by=date&num_items=100

my comments are CORRECT. on metacritic USER reviews the score for MW3 is 2.0 and 2.6 for ps3 and xbox 360. this COD has the LOWEST user score out of all the COD titles with COD4 having the highest user score. MW3 IS a 16 dollar map pack with re-shuffled perks, recycled guns, and a 3 hour campaign. 90% of the USER reviews on metacritic agree with ME, not you. period.:applause::applause::applause::applause:

Everything is right but the campaign length. It's 6-7 hours(vet).

I had MW3 for the 360 preordered. I went to pick it up today and asked for a price match off the website for $51.99. It went through very smoothly and overall very happy!
Everything is right but the campaign length. It's 6-7 hours(vet).
I don't think people aren't saying its not right. They are saying it is getting old. Quite a few of the maps are imports from 1. No mechanics/weapons really changed.

No one is saying this game isn't good. It seems like everyone is saying that there is nothing new from the last 2 titles an as such are mad.

It's interesting to see the gamer rage against Madden Warfare 2011, er, MW3 because "It's just like the old games!" because if IW et al had changed up the gameplay the same people would shriek "It's different! It reminds me of when GTA IV came out and people moaned. I asked them if they were expecting less crime spree action and more orchid growing and perhaps a tax preparation minigame? Pffft.

I played COD4's campaign (awesome) and the MP somewhat (I'm screamingly mediocre and can't put in the time); never finished W@W's campaign (boring and don't like WWII guns) and hardly played MP; beat MW2's campaign (tried to hard to be "shocking" and killing you at level end is lame and wastes your time) and tried a little MP until I realized everyone else had akimbo shotties; and I totally skipped Blops though the bit of the SP I tried on a borrowed copy was so lead-player-by-nose-ring linear as to be annoying though BF3's campaign manages to be even worse.

The point of the recap is that I think a lot of people are seriously burned out on the series. This is the FIFTH year of big COD games and it's natural that it's going to seem old hat. I, OTOH, have hardly played with the intensity of the people griping now, so I suspect I won't be as butthurt as the gripers. I'd rather stick to BF3, but my friend is Xbox only and doesn't have a gaming PC, so if I want to do the co-op shooty-shooty with him, I'm gonna have to buy into the Madden Warfare thing. Seeing that so many people are hating on it, I'm hoping to pick up a used copy cheap soon.
They already did a future Battlefield game, Battlefield 2142. I don't think it did as well as the others, but they could revisit it if enough people want it. The "modern" setting has gotten kind of old.
It did OK, though it only spawned one expansion - Northern Strike (which I was part of the closed beta test) - and wasn't accorded the respect like BF2 was though I played the heck out of it. The way assault and medic classes are combined in BF3 was in BF2142, so I'm finding the A/M role very comfortable. I installed it for grins the other night (hadn't played in ages) and it's shocking how sparse the graphics are compared to the eye socket-fornicating visuals of Frostbite 2.

Sorry if I'm re-asking (didn't read through the entire thread) but is it confirmed that BB will price match their own website now? I've had them give me the run-around before on that I just don't want any confrontation when buying. I swear sometimes these cashiers take their job too seriously and treat customers like they're stealing just for asking for a pm.

EDIT: Nvm.. -___- deal is dead. That's what I get for doing schoolwork yesterday lol.

I haven't gotten the price match from amazon and their window is just about passed. They said I'd get an email and a refund within 48 hours. If tomorrow comes and goes, I'm gonna hit them up again.

So I managed to PM that TRU deal of buy two and get a 40 dollar gc at bb. Best buy took 20 dollars off each MW3 game so it brought it down to 80, then I use a 25 dollar gift card, and the 5 pre order and brought it down to 50. Then I used 25 in cash and paid 29.98 on my cc. So basically paid 54.98 for both. Should I try to PM this or will I be SOL on this?

Hey that actually sounds like a good idea since I'm planning on buying another game anyway and the PM will actually take the 40$ off the price of the games.

Does anyone know if BB will honor their @gamer magazine coupon deals along with a price match like this? Reason I'm asking is because I plan on picking up Rocksmith and 20$ off that game would help a lot but I'm not sure if they consider it double dipping on top of a price match.
amazon raised the price to 57.99
fuck, Best Buy will cost me nearly $6 in tax

Probably a stupid question, but when a person preorders games like this at Best Buy for $59.99 and it goes down to $51.99 on release, are you refunded? Or does a preorder only require a $5 deposit?

the funny thing is that BF3 which actually IMPROVED itself and added a ton of new stuff, new engine, etc got $20 promo credit even AFTER release on amazon, but the MW3 copy paste clone of MW2 got $0 i repeat ZERO credit.

you would think the greedy theif of Activision would actually let amazon offer the credit to increase sales. but then he wouldnt be named Bobart Goatick.

Since they knocked $20 off each game there is nothing to PM as you got your game for $40. unless you want to PM to $52 and GIVE BBY $12.

Also you can only PM one deal at a time and BBY website PM is considered a PM just as any other store.

To the above poster you are not allowed to PM AND use the @gamer coupon (this includes PMing the BBY website) per thei policies.

But as always it never hurts to ask and some people get it, but the above is outside of what they SHOULD be doing and as such is highly YMMV

BBY has a 30 day post purchase PM. In other words anyone that bought it day one can just walk in with the receipt and ask them to PM their website and get $8+tax back.

Not sure what you are asking, but...

Well for me, I preordered it at $59.99 with a $5 deposit. I picked it up today and the game registered at $59.99, but I then asked for a price match off their website. So it brought the total to $51.99 + tax. Since I already paid the $5 down, the total was $51.99+tax-$5.00.

Hoped that answered your question. If you wanted a refund after you already picked it up, just go to the store with your receipt and request it and they will give you back the difference. They should do it especially for this deal.

BB price matched their website for me no problem, and they gave me a t-shirt, poster, and 12 months Live for $35. The only thing is, I played MW3 and I hate it. :)

I think he means he payed $35 extra for a year of live. Not total.

Prob going to go price match this today at BB.

I've never played a Modern Warfare game before (only played lots of Black Ops last semester of college) so I'm not complaining about the repetitiveness. I was able to price match Best Buy's website at Best Buy, and traded in some games with the bonus 50% so I got it for free.

I missed out on the sale price. But I was able to snatched a used copy from Gamestop. I used a $10 off coupon and my Erewards cards. I burned out on the series with WOW. I played the campaign in MW2 and never finished Black Ops. But my daughter wanted MW3, so I will play it.

So is it ringing up in-store at BB at that price? And has anyone had luck PM kmartgamer.com $110 in purchases to get the $50 giftcard deal? I have read that when BB does the PM it is an instant discount rather than a giftcard but extremely YMMV on getting them to do the PM.
