Modern Warfare 3 Discussion Thread - Out 11/8/11. New Multiplayer Trailer!

I have the Tritton AxPros. I wish there was a way to adjust the in game volume such that when people talk it isnt as loud as all the SFX. I have to resort to muting some people in my party (open mics w feedback) in order to be able to hear enemies running in the grass or steel walkway or just movement in general. Also the damn guns/explosions sometimes drown out everything.

I just prestiged to #5. I plan to take a short break from the game. I have many other games I need to get through first and I seem to have way too much time logged in online MW3.
 
Anyone use just a regular usb headset say for a pc? Honestly only need them to play at night. Or do you thunk the difference would be major.

You'd only get voice chat over a USB headset. If your TV has a headphone jack, you may be able to get audio from that but honestly, the Sony set is awesome for the least amount of set up.
 
Anyone that reads this thread and doesn't have Elite yet, let me know. I'm picking up the hardened edition tomorrow and already bought Elite last month so I'll be selling the new one for $40 obo.

What kind of audio cables? Optical cables - I got mine from monoprice.
 
Looks like on the 28th a patch is dropping along with the maps, 400 new ranks and 5 new Prestige levels. I'm still only like 3rd or 4th Prestige, lol. Hopefully the maps will give me something to play with, I haven't had a good challenge in a while with all the RPGs I've been playing.

I do not know what cables you need for your headsets, but if you need the cable that connects your amp to your PS3 it is most likely an Optical Toslink cable. Item 1419 on monoprice www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10229&cs_id=1022901&p_id=1419&seq=1&format=2

Not too many headsets use HDMI (if any?). If you need cables to connect the amp to the headset, that is a totally different story and you may have to order replacements from the manufacturer/distributor. With Trittons, I have read people ask Madcatz (new owner of Tritton) for replacements because a part broke, and they were replaced under warranty.
 
good rounds nakanenui. i was getting crazy #s of kills last nite, going 30n10, 44n17, etc. i had attack copters up most of the rounds, good stuff.
i need to work on hardcore some more, the only time i play it is with you. i switched my carepackage to uav just so i could see what was going on. im blind without my radar. lol

Yeah fun stuff. That game earlier when I jumped into one of your games on outpost, was pretty funny as we were on opposite teams. I like to hold down that corridor where the B flag usually is. Can rack up tons of kills when people just blindly run down and dont check the corner spots. I was mostly running specialist streak, cause I know when stuff is in the air its a bitch to wait for them to go away since the other team failed to shoot down anything. The only thing I dont really like is that in HC when spawns swap you usually dont know until you get a knife in the back.

I went 15-1 in one game last night, mostly getting 26-12 type games using specialist. Probably be much different if I went assault and had overwatch or attack chopper in the air to get me more kills. I just love when the opponents do not bother shooting stuff down (I on the other hand try to shoot everything down if the map is open enough).
 
i did an 18/1 last nite, but that's pretty rare. i never am patient enough to camp, or sit still, so im a mad rushian. you know how to get 2 killpoints if you shoot the copter with your gun at the same time your missile takes it down. i do that with my javelin and then i only need 1 more kill for a care package. or the best is when they call in strafe and you get 3points easy. i always try to take air out asap, but i love it when they dont do shit and my copters just keep getting kills. i run javelin so i can get trooper kills too, but in black ops i always ran stingerish so i could 1shot everything in the air, even uav's counter uavs. i dont mess with taking out uav/cuavs with my javelin cuz it just takes too long.

yeah i always join my friend's games when they have a full party and it's fun to kill them. i feel bad tho cuz im an asshole noobtuber, marksman, recon, javelin, acr wieldn bastard. lol peace bro
 
Has there been any Clan operations for people to take part in? I noticed the twittered about getting that finally set up. I've been playing less stressful things to kind of rehab myself out of the competitive spirit but I feel my trigger finger itching again.
 
Yeah, clan ops are up. The clan leader has to sign up for the event, but you don't have to play together as a clan to participate in the event. I've just been signing up for every clan event, just to see if the clan gets any xp bumps, but nothing yet.
 
So I havent been on my PS3 for a week, get on today and I find that I'm missing the Elite app and some games I've downloaded off PS+. Prior to today they were always listed under the game icon, but now nothing. I goto into the store and it shows that I already own the app (little red shopping bag icon), but its nowhere in my PS3 saved data utility.

I tried re-downloading it and still nothing and to top things off the 3 month PS+ that I got at Target a few months back due to the pricing error in their ad renewed itself for $17.99 out of my "wallet". SMH. Too late now, but I've turned off auto renew forever.

Any suggestions on getting Elite app back? Thanks
 
Seriously....they pick a weekend to do it? Oh well, I need to prepare for an interview on Monday anyway. Looks like I can play some Uncharted or let my son play some SSX.
 
yeah, I played a few matches yesterday. the new piazza map was pretty neat. reminded me of the map that takes place on the parisian streets (i don't ever remember map names); except with a little more verticality.

man, for as much shit as I have given this game, their online WORKS.

I tried playing some ME3 multi last night and god-damn, the online can suck sometimes. it takes forever to find a group, the store errors out most of the time, and then there are the dumbshits you get matched with. you can't have 3 dudes that do the 'stealth disappear-y thingy' and disperse to the far reaches of the map, leaving me to try and figure out the spawns and clean up.
also, THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR A PARTIAL EXTRACTION. ('cept for the match where they let me die mere feet from the extraction zone...thanks bro's!)

yeah, this belongs on the ME3 board, what of it.
 
Because everything about the MW sucks. I never played 4 but i mean c'mon, cod is shit and it sells the best. It saddens me that people waste there time on this junk. Player models move like they are psx graphics, maps suck, aim assist is a joke, and i would rather play pong. I feel sorry for people that play this game when there is so much greatness out there.

Millions of people dont play COD because they're idiots, they play it because it is fun to play. If you have a hard time understanding that, then the stupid one is yourself.
 
Haha, I wrecked some guy from the West Virginia Assault Clan in TDM, along with some of his buddies and they accused me of a modded controller. I can't even find the dude online but hey, if they read this, fuck you. With Rollin101 ranked 17 in the world in TDM on their side and I carried a team into kicking your asses on the first day I've played since I put this game down after the last Elite event a couple of months ago.

I found my calling in the Specialist class. It's an addiction and a high so rewarding to literally tear people apart left and right, run right through whole teams and make lobbies rage quit single handedly. I regret trying it this late, oh my god, MW3 gods please forgive me.
 
Outside of everyone crawling the last couple of matches it was entertaining last night. Most of my matches inevitably started 0-4, 1-5, 2-5, etc....and would end with me on a 7-9 kills to 1-2 deaths. Except for the last couple of matches with the guys camping like we were playing hardcore, I am not sure why that happened every match. I think I need to re-learn that when I am 3-bar trying to look down the sights every time gets me killed.

I definitely caught people flatfooted, if they just started shooting they had a better chance against me than not, so definitely shoot first, aim second. Going 3-1 on Hardhat was awesome, they had a guy with a 2.56 k/d, he went 2-1. I need to make a bunch of clips from that, I have two sprees where I straight up killed 8+ people in a row with some masterful uses of C4 and daredevil running towards gunfire.

Mad and I made a new rule last night while playing some ME3 - you cannot host. :) Seems we get the crappiest lobbies when you host - both for players and ping. There was not enough jitter control for that first match we were in. That host had major advantage - got knifed once and had to look at the replay to see how I died.

Question we are all wondering: did NoKill ditch the group for a female?

I would never lower myself to the point of selling my soul to WoW. What I did play of it wasn't very entertaining for me, it wasn't my setting. I preferred Warhammer Online, which was dark, perverse and did PvP/RvR awesomely from L1 right away.

I actually picked up Shogun 2 during Amazon's sale and got addicted to that for like 3 weeks. I stopped 1 province away from taking over Japan as the Chosokabe, I want to humiliate the Date clan by taking their last trade route and doing a 5 army gangbang of their last remaining castle town.

I hear ya. I picked up Civ 5 from Steam when it was like $15 a while back. I'm in the process of building giant robots to humiliate Kamehameha. I stepped on his land once, thousands of years ago and he keeps denouncing me. Asshole.

I am still around, I just lost a lot of interest in MW3. MW2 was very entertaining to me, but something about the 3rd is meh.

For any who are still interested: Clan 'CAG Central' on Elite. I've been trying to join all the Clan ops as they become available, just to try and get a little extra clan xp.
 
I'm interested in joining, though I'm a proud camper so you might get a 3/3 out of me, but its worth it when I put up a 20/4 and get a lot of cursing directed towards me

Be on in a spell. I almost shot a screw through my middle finger two days ago. Nothing like a sheet metal screw twisting, puncturing and bruising all at the same time.
 
Will probably be on after 9pm CDT to boost a few levels. It was fun with Mad and Kaiser and the one TDM in Seatown where the whole other team rage quit after the match. I thought Drop Zone was fun....well, DZ is better when you have a party....we won something like 7500-2500.
