CAGiversary!
Before coming in here to complain MSRP isn't a deal, please listen for a bit!

There is an increasingly growing campaign, spanning multiple forums and gaming sites (NeoGaf, IGN, GoNintendo, Kotaku, Destructoid, Gamefaqs, Nintendoeverything, and more), trying to get Nintendo to listen up and release this (+The Last Story and Pandora's Tower) in the U.S.

The campaign includes snail mail writing, e-mail, phone calls, facebook, and twitter and the turn-out has been beyond all expectations thus far. Comments on Nintendo's Facebook had passed 1,300 in just 24 hours.

But actions speak louder than words, so to convey that Nintendo fans really want this, people have decided to show for it by pre-ordering on amazon -- hoping to get it to the #1 sales rank in video games from #12,000+

Results:

Amazon Bestsellers Rank: #30 in Video Games (See Top 100 in Video Games)
#1 in Video Games > Wii > Action
#5 in Video Games > Wii > All Games

See this too: http://666kb.com/i/bunsqwbujfsk3nuqf.gif

So the deal is this, please pre-order it to help get it released in the U.S. Remember: actions speak louder than words.

Pre-Order: http://www.amazon.com/Monado-Beginn...1MYG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1309008677&sr=8-1

Exactly. I mean I am sure people would be fine with the European version. Hell I would even take the japanese version with english menus and subtitles.

I don't want to have to mod my Wii just so I can play this, it defeats the fucking purpose of Nintendo trying to stop piracy in the first place ;)

I know in other media that it is there to protect the sales in one region from being undercut in another, either by price or release date. I know media in Japan is generally more expensive than in other places in the world, so it protects that.

Course, the downside is when a region doesn't get a release, which you are right, it does encourage modding.

It doesn't promote modding. People who are gonna mod their systems are gonna do it regardless of whether there's a hard to find game only available in Derkaderkastan. Very very few people are up enough on video games to know that there's this super cool game out there but it's not in US and they MUST play it. The audience that 1) keeps up with games around the world 2) has the knowledge or desire to mod their systems and 3) uses 1 as an impetus to mod their systems is so slim that it doesn't even factor into the equation.

Piracy is a problem for nintendo but not because they region lock a game.

I mean, I heard about Catherine last year but it wasn't enough to go out and mod my system so can I play the game.

To be fair, ps3 is region free correct me if I'm wrong so you would only have to mod your 360 if you wanted to play japanese catherine, a ps3 would be fine.

I don't think region locking promotes piracy in any large way. If .05% of the populace decide to hack their wii to play other region games and then a certain percentage of them then go on to pirate games that's more than likely but I can't imagine it's a large enough number to care. The people that wanted to pirate will just pirate.

Actually people that want to play import Xbox 360 games just import the system. Same if you want import DSi ware

The thing about 360 games is, the publishers are allowed to choose if games are region locked or not. So, if a small company makes a game, they can choose to not region lock it, and allow free importing. With the PS3, no games are region locked, and with the Wii, all games are region locked.
Actually people that want to play import Xbox 360 games just import the system. Same if you want import DSi ware
True but the problem is if I want to play only one or two import games, is it really worth spending the money on a new system?

It isn't. So people just shrug and move on. Some will figure out a way to mod their system but for the vast majority of people, there's no game out there so great that it's an incentive to mod their system.
Did anything ever happen with NoA's twitter message from a couple days ago?
They've told a couple of journalists that they'll be putting out some sort of statement "soon." That was Monday, and we've heard nothing yet. Meanwhile, their twitter and facebook pages have gone silent.

Waiting out the holiday weekend till they think our mtv-ified(alleged) brains have moved on because of our attention spans? Only time will tell!

They just posted this on the facebook page:

"Thank you for your enthusiasm. We promised an update, so here it is. We never say “never,” but we can confirm that there are no plans to bring these three games to the Americas at this time. Thanks so much for your passion, and for being such great fans!"

And so now people better not let up.

It was really dumb of them to post this "update". I'd be surprised to not see every single thing they post on facebook or twitter become a swarm of angry posts about these games.

If you really, REALLY want these games, put some pressure on them. Don't let up because of this so-called update.

I seriously don't think I'll be buying a Wii U. I'm getting tired of Nintendo games as is. When the American branch of the company seems determined to keep as many games as possible out...there's no real point.

It's not like we can say the Wii U will be easy to softmod like the Wii either.

This is just another reason why the Wii, 3DS, and WiiU just don't interest me. Has nothing to do with the hardware but the people/company behind it who "support" it and it's customers/fans.

Great fans? fuck you nintendo. We're told to wait for an announcement, wait a few days, to get a "no"? You couldn't come up with a no instantly? Did that really take time to make?

You know what, I hope the wii-u is proper hd and powerful enough that people don't want to develop for it anymore because it's "cheaper", then the games will be on ps3/360 atleast(or higher).

Don't give up yet! Keep bombarding Nintendo with emails, keep spamming their Facebook page with comments. Tenacity is very important.
I just preordered it. Reggie needs to go.
Agreed. But he makes Nintendo to much money with the casual market. They'll never let him go unless he screws up big time.so fingers crossed he screws up and gets fired or steps down.

The only way I could see Reggie going is if the Wii U fails. And it would have to fail hard, since Nintendo could probably start their own bank with all the money they've already made in the past 5 years.

That or he gets caught in the closet doing the nasty with that annoying bitch (I'm assuming they both have their own families) Nintendo bought out they went casual at full force during E3 07 or 08.

That's such an obnoxious Facebook message.

"Thanks, guys! Thank you so much! Oh, by the way, go fuck yourselves! Thanks again!"

It's not nice to paraphrase bro. Let me re-iterate nintendo's true message so there isn't any miscommunication here.

"Thanks, guys! Thank you so much! Oh, by the way, go fuck yourselves in your fucking fuckholes with a big fucking nobbly fuck covered in fuck! Thanks again!"

I loved how someone pointed out the word unfortunately from some ign comments. Yeah, it's totally unfortunate YOU DECIDED not to publish these games here. You're right. Unfortunately, you aren't really using that world properly.

"Thanks for being such incredible fans! Unfortunately, there continues to be no plans for NOA to release these 3 games right now."

Really? As soon as The Hut, Zavvi, or Play UK puts up Xenoblade and Last Story I'm preordering. Thanks NOA for nothing! NOE, take my money!

Thanks for clearing that up. :p

Stupid decision.

They should have published it here just to keep fans from importing and basically being one step away from piracy.

At least some portion of people who look into importing probably don't realize how easy it is to steal games on Wii. This will introduce that to them nicely. Way to go, NoA.

Nintendo is a joke, and more or less just proved to everyone that their claims of WiiU being made with their "hardcore" fans in mind are total bullshit. It will just be another half decade of shovelware garbage, dance and music games, with regular Mario cashgrabs.

congrats nintnedo...Keep pushing your shovel were shit.God forbid you want easy money from people..Sure it prolly wont be millions of copies sold, but EUROPE IS GETTING THE GAME,IN ENGLISH,It must be so hard to make the game NTSC I guess.

looking to confirm a few things instead of reading all 12 pages

1) this i Xenoblade right? I had head good things about that game.. not sure why its renamed to begining of the world if it is

2) 60 bucks? really? what wii launch game is 60 bucks? though the op says it should drop to 50 if it gets released

3) Looks like a lot of people are bitching last page or two.. im guessing Nintendo said no to this?

4) if they did say no, i see some people saying that it is probably coming out in Europe. Question regarding that: is the Wii region free? I've never imported anything

yeesh, Nintendo is really friggin lame. If this is seriously coming out in the UK i see no real reason not to release it in the US. The localization is pretty much done
instead of writing petitions and posting on their facebook people should hit them where it hurts. DO NOT BUY ZELDA SKYWARD SWORD
Or don't buy a WiiU. 90% of what I play when I do turn my Wii on are VC games. I can't see a reason to shell out several hundred dollars in a new console and accessories to get another 5 years of the same mario games and crap shovelware. I think I've bought less than 10 retail Wii games of which only 2 are developed or published by the big N.

1. Yes it Xenoblade.
2. No price yet. Will likely be $50
3. Nintendo said no.
4. Wii is not region free.

This is absolutely ridiculous.

What sucks even more is that I think Skyward Sword is the only game coming out for the Wii that I even want. If these were released here, at least it would have given me something else to look forward to.

I guess Nintendo is too busy releasing blockbusters like Mystery Case Files for the Wii.

You do know a new Kirby gam is coming right

DO NOT LET FACTS GET IN THE WAY OF A GOOD BITCHING SESSION, SIR!

Do not!
Unsurprising results, sadly. Like I said several pages back, thank goodness for my softmodded wii.
Any tips on how to mod it? I had zero interest in doing it till now, but I guess i might have to.

Stupid decision Nintendo. It would be so easy to just bring over

I could threaten to boycott the Wii because of this but I haven't bought a Wii game in over a year... Guess i'll just wait longer for DKC, Metroid & Kirby...
